JUB has several forums that allow members to candidly discuss personal matters. We specifically prohibit flaming within those forums. We have occasionaly had issues with members mining information from those forums and using it in forums such as CE&P. This information is sometimes used to make a point. Sometimes it is used maliciously.

This behavior has a chilling effect on members posting in these "safe harbor" forums. The very purpose of these other forums, is to allow members to seek advice or counsel on what are sometimes very delicate issues. People are alive today because they had a place where they could speak frankly without fear of judgment or ridicule.

In order to maintain the integrity of these safe harbors, we must prohibit the use of sensitive information from those forums on JUB. For example, if a member chooses to post about his depression and type of medication he's taking in a safe harbor forum, we aren't going to allow references about this member's condition elsewhere on the site.

Posting this kind of information about someone from another forum will be considered a serious violation of the COC and will be dealt with severely.

It's important that people have a place where they can get help. I'm sure you all understand the need for this policy. Thank you for taking the time to read it and the mod staff will do its best to address any questions or concerns.
