Just curious, and I apologize if this was addressed and I missed it, but, is there a way to change the skin colour, AND to change the colour of the thread titles from, well, whatever colour blue is the default for both.

I did take a peek in the settings, but didn't see anything available other than default so is this something that'll be looked at a little later?

I hate the new JUB. Really really hate it. I gave it a few visits before making up my mind... But it sucks.

• the text in different fora is different sizes, and too small (hey, I'm olllllld) in most of them
• the "you are ignoring so-and-so" is about four times bigger, and therefore more annoying, than before

I get that they had to do it. But it sucks.

I take it back, it's not my connection - the pages are taking a very noticeably long time to load compared to other sites. The animated loading icon on the tabs never goes away. I'm not getting any warnings about slow scripts. I'm using FireFox 3.5.1 on XP, I updated to the latest Java yesterday and I have a dial-up connection.

I just counted 29 seconds for this page to load.

I'd be happy if it loaded that fast! I just timed that page & it took 1 minute, 38 seconds to load
The new version is way slower than the old one.

As far as the interface..I can't decide on weather I prefer the old or new look better. So I'll just say it looks just fine as is to me no complaints from me there

The script thing isn't an issue for me since I have FireFox & the NoScript addon which has always been set to not allow scripts for JUB
(I get that on some sites where I actually need to allow scripts & its annoying ... increasing the script-timeout time setting helped some)

I don't quite like the image uploader thingy. Previously the picture icon allowed you to go and find a pic, now you got to upload it in a laborious way.

As for the layout, its fine, the older version was better, perhaps because I am more used to it. This one is growing on me, as I work out how and where things are.

So what's causing the delay and script errors? People using newer systems, older systems, different systems? Because I'm certainly not running into any issues with it. Is it something that can be fixed on JUB's end?

I have noticed it post replies quite a bit faster than before the upgrade. I was hoping the quick reply window and some of the functionality would be returned as they made tweaks to the new software. I suppose that may not be true.

I am using Chrome. I would agree that a more grey and black vs pastel blue for the page design like the old format would be preferred.

Please make the auto save icon go away.... it is annoying.

Slow/error scripts is probably bad coding on the programmers fault , so whoever made the script which wouldn't be JUB (generally showes up on older browsers)
Its probably just one script causing the problem...if I allowed scripts I'm sure I could eventually figure out which one(s) LOL

Slow/delays while loading - most users are probably seeing it due to the script issue. but there is something more since i see somewhat slowness even without scripts. (haven't tried to figure out what's causing it )

Perhaps other "looks" are possible, but I'm guessing that'll be a low priority. I know nobody at JUB HQ, so this is all conjecture, but I'd say the major issues look like this:

1. Connectivity. Several people are having modest to major issues with scripts crashing the page, and really long load times. This might be a problem with having the platform incompatible (or poorly compatible) with older/different systems. If so, there's probably not much JUB can do about it. But if there is, that's presumably the number one priority.

2. Pictures. They still haven't moved everyone's pictures over, although they apparently still have them backed up. There may be an issue on how exactly to do that. I know I had a few pictures in a "hidden" gallery, but the "rules" for private galleries here are different - anyone on your friend list can see them. So that might be causing some issues.

3. A vague category we might call "things that were better before". Things like pictures being more complicated to load, for instance. The things in this category might be all over the map, though, as I'm sure there's somebody who liked absolutely everything about the previous form and would insist on returning it to that way.

At that point, I think they might start working on the visuals. Make sure the engine of the car is sound before worrying about the paint job.

I personally don't have any issue with the new layout. Yeah, it's a bit bright, but I've gotten used to it pretty quick. I've enjoyed having the "blank slate" for my profile, and messing around with the new features. But of course, I can afford to do that with no connectivity issues.

I'm just using standard ff and haven't had any trouble so far. The only thing I don't like is that the titles of the threads are to bright compared to the background and the fact that people can now see when I've visited their profile, meaning that I won't be able to visit certain hot guy's profiles 120 times per day anymore without looking like the creepy stalker I am!

I look at it the other way - I can now see who's visiting MY profile. I'm a bit surprised and pleased who's been visiting, and I've sent a couple "hello" messages to some people who visited...and gotten responses.

An odd thing happens.....>> when i bring up the homepage (1st time I go there) -- Gay Porn Photos, Gay Porn Movies, Gay Reviews, and Gay Community at JustUsBoys -- i see in the upper right hand corner - hello BINOW - you are logged in... (something like that) -- then I click on the 'FORUM' button and select "View Forums" ----- when that screen comes up I have to log in (username/password) !! so was I logged in or not? do i have to do this every time? (not coplaining - it's just another thing that's "different")

As a former paint professional with a minor in Psychology, Blues are suposed to be calming, blood pressure reducing, and easy on the eye.

I have the brigthness on my laptop turned to the lowest possible setting, because I like a lower intensity image - my 17" laptop ( sitting quietly to the side until such time as I might be able to afford to repair the damage inflicted when I spilled 12-16oz of milk on it awhile back) went to a lower intensity than the Studio 15 I am using.

JUB's greyed text area that varied in intensity based on angle was nice. The current White page is Bright! lol.
Clean, I, personally, don't have a major issue with the color palate, other than it could be more juiced up, but it is low on my priority list.

An interesting quandary for you guys when you get a chance.
I play on JUB in our Living Room with family around.
Consequently, I keep all pictures turned off - Sigs, Avatars, Pics in my profile.
There appears to be a difference in Pictures and Pictures - maybe the Yellow mountain pic button is filtered differently than the tree icon?

While Taz is a great guy to look at, and there's nothing non-"G" rated about his pic, this thread link displays his image, while the ones above and below don't, but the repost by Seth of the bearded "lurker" who has posted twice now, IS showing. (See also 2042, 2043 - 2042 is just the link, 2043 if fully illuminated pic in Seth's Quote of 2042)

It's not that I don't "WANT" to see the pics, it just that I need to be careful of WHEN I have unrestricted pics.
(And, while we're on the topic, the new "top of major group" caveats - we've been having fun in some of the F&G threads with our Nekkid men pictures for a long time - are we really in trouble if we post non PG-13 material in the F&G arena?
Maybe we need an "ADULT PICS Allowed" F&G section for those of us who mix a bit of this and that up?

Well, it CAN have THAT effect, too. Maybe if you remember that the HOTTEST Flame is Blue-White, it will help warm the cockles of your heart!

I just tilted the angle on my laptop monitor to 110o or so - back from vertical, away from me, and the shading has become more pronounced. Maybe it's my settings from my profile, which I did just play with, but I don't think so. I guess I need to go look, again, and see if I did this or not.

Be aware in both cases you will get an error (its nothing wrong with JUB, its because these links are a roundabout way i found of changing the layout/style). Just go to the main forum page and you should see the change (or clicking the back button & then reloading works in FireFox)

I've just modified the stylesheets to make the actual post pages like this one a little less bright. I've tried to tone down the stark whites and make it a little more gray and less hard on the eyes.

72-Jay... I've never seen so many pastels! Our design doesn't have any of the colors you just posted in your attachments. I think you have your browser set to override colors or something

1 is normal FF to you, right? (And interesting screen shot you chose, if I do say so, myself, lol.)
3 and 2 are flip-flopped in the stack, and I have pics turned off, so I have to click on them to activate - 3 is what I get when Jub and FF aren't playing nice - so I'm assuming this is what you consider "normal, no style sheets"
2 is the intense blue - that's mobile?

Seth, I just went through some interesting changes - lost style sheet for a bit, now the white page is full white and full width.
And, I seem to have lost all text and image capabilities, even on Go Advanced.
I was going to post a screen shot, but I can't.

I just got the redirect, again, and read it more closely - I am on the MOBILE style and my button isn't supported??? How did THAT happen, and how do I get back to full style??? I don't see the option on the bottom that was there.

I cleared my Firefox cache and got back to normal.
I couldn't see to get to my settings.
I got to my home page, but couldn't do anything.
All looks better now.
The Blues and Greys may still get to some, but the feeling is a lot more soothing than the start white page was.

#1 is normal firefox (they changed it just a bit while i was putting together the post, but its still close)
Why it flipped #2 & #3 i don't know...I tried multiple times to make it NOT do that but every time it put them that way
#2 (the intense blue) is mobile. That blue is my default color. JUB didn't set a color so FF used my default (most people would probably see white or gray LOL I didn't think about that one)
#3 Is normal, no style sheets (since i used a really old browser/computer to take that one)


@Seth weird.. those are the colors I get, my browsers are not set to override colors (but if no color is set it'll use the default i have set - like that blue on the mobile pic)

Seth I like the dimmed whites and the darker blue MUCH better but I am a fan of dark blue so.... Hopefully the reaction is good after everyone gets a chance to take a look.

Is there anyway to make the white space between the post the same as the background palette (black with grey stripes)... I dont know if that would mute or amplify the brighter colors...

Basically the only bug (if it can be classified as such) that I am encountering almost 100% every time I visit (via IE) is "slow script" pop up. I recently installed Chrome and things seem to be going smoothly.
