This may or may not be a bug.

I don’t know if it was fixed already, or if it is just intermittent, but I noticed in CE&P that all identifying information about the poster has been missing for some posts, some of the time. Everything on the left (in the light blue area) and sigs disappeared. They are back now though. It only happened the once so it might not be an issue.

Another poster said to post the URL and then clip the Wrap [img] icon, but how do I create an URL for the image to begin with (if its from my computer)? There's an option to upload images but I don't see one for copying a link of that uploaded image?

Just for fun tonight I tried JUB on a old computer that has the Netscape browser...
and low & behold it worked .. automatically went into the mobile version LOL

I've got the same problem. I use "Manage Attachments" to upload the images to JUB. But in the past the list of names of the files in the "Attachments" section of the "Additional Options" included the links to the pictures on the JUB site (that I've just uploaded), so that I could copy the actual link of each image into the IMG tags of the post. In the new system the list of uploaded images does NOT include the links (see picture below). How do I find the url of each image that I have uploaded to JUB?

Don't ask how I managed to get the above example in this post.

This method is more involved then the last version. Why can you just attach the images and have them automatically appear "full screen" in the thread? I post tons of pictures and it going to take me more time doing it this way.

Also, is there a way to change the amount of images you can upload. This five at a time is really getting to me. I would like to do 10 or 20 at a time. I thought this would change with this update. :/

Just as an additional comment about the above post. There seem to be a lot of people on various threads trying to help other people figure out how to attach full sized images inline. A few words of wisdom from the JUB gang documenting how to address this might help. Thanks.

The way I do it in IE is to upload the attachment to the post. Post it. Click on the attachment in the post to display it full size. Right click on the full sized image. Go down to properties. There you should see the image URL. Highlight that and copy. Then go back, edit your post. Paste the URL into it. Highlight the URL and click on the Wrap IMG tags icon. Then save the edit. The full sized image should appear.

The edit button will be there for 5 minutes after you post, then it will disappear..

I usually stay on the new posts pages, but for the last two days i've been getting a message saying that the Fun&Games section is excluded from the new posts, i've asked the guys in Fun&Games about it and apparently it's only me, could you tell me how i reinstate them back into the new posts pages ?

there used to be an option to configure this on a per-user basis. but it doesn't seem that easy to do this again, so for now i excluded f&g for every "new posts" search that is started from the front page. this can get quite a bit annoying for people who do not follow f&g as there are often 2+3 pages of new f&g posts with the regular threads hidden somewhere in between. if you want to see the new f&g posts, you can still click on "what's new"

One more thing, i've had to change over to Google Chrome as since the upgrade i couldn't scroll down any thread without the page freezing for a couple of seconds, any info on this ?

working fine here, also in chrome. maybe a flash/upgrade problem?

I guess it's not a bug -- but I get this dialogue box now that says " A script is running and causing IE to run slowly, do you want to stop it? - (words to that effect) -- and I say yes - but everything seems slower now (with my lovely dial-up) --

Small difference I noticed. In the Stories forum, there are a number of story threads with star ratings. You used to be able to hover over the stars with the mouse to see how many people have rated the story. You can no longer do this.

the thread rating is a bit different from the server side now. it is now recommend to not query the amount of votes and if the user voted for thread display, because it has an impact on server performance. for now we will keep this disabled, if everything is running very smooth, it might be enabled later.

this was most likely just a moment where the designer was fiddling with the layout.

The upgrade looks great, I won't have a lot of time to explore for a while...going out of town for a few days.

I imagine that 'Delete Profile' is the new name for it. It's in 'My Settings'>'My Profile'.

Actually, Quasar, I had seen that entry and pondered the various possibilities before I posted.

I believe the change in nomenclature will lead to misunderstandings. The words "delete profile" can mean either "delete account", or "delete all of the personal information on my profile in one fell swoop." Lurkers who never plan to post might find the latter option a temptation.

I think some people—especially those for whom English is a second language—might accidentally delete their account by mistake.

After enough contemplation on the matter, I think the developers will find a change in wording both prudent and appropriate.

Why does every picture need to have an added black border line?

Could it be like before, picture as it is?

This is a forum with lots of pictures, and for me, that can have an (unwanted) effect on the perception of picture.

Well to be honest, it was not really working out as good. The older board was becoming so slow with loading up threads. It's a lot faster now plus they upgraded from a very outdated version of vBulletin if I'm correct.

I know a lot of others find it weird and hard to navigate but it needed to change.

Just curious, and I apologize if this was addressed and I missed it, but, is there a way to change the skin colour, AND to change the colour of the thread titles from, well, whatever colour blue is the default for both.

I did take a peek in the settings, but didn't see anything available other than default so is this something that'll be looked at a little later?

Well you did restore the so I should be the happiest camper of them all...

but, there is two thing that, while not major in any way, are just a tad bit, well irritating, first there seems to be a abhorrent script running in certain threads, that is not responding well, and I have to manually stop it... not in all thread but in some...

Also, when the board resume in its temporary fashion, it was taking full advantage of my 16:9 ratio screen, now, there is those two big black stripe on both side... it is kind of a loss of real estate, in my not so humble opinion...

And can somebody explain what is this autosave I see in the reply box while I am typing?

Oh and I was about to forget the essential: a big heartfelt THANK YOU to all the administrative staff that diligently did all this colossal work of updating the Board!

Tried to reload some pictures via "create new album", blah, blah, blah. I load 3 pages, try to read what I've just generated and what I get is: This album does not have any pictures. Maybe I'll try again a couple months! If the album does not have any pictures, I might as well do something else.

Why should I have to reload pics one page at a time, rather than reloading in one step? I'm confused.

I'd say it's far from ruined, just because you won't take the time to figure it out.

Change just for the sake of change is nice every once in a while, but even here I believe the change was made to improve the site.

I had massive problems before with loading times. I thought it was from my end and even running the IP trace showed that it was mostly from my end. However since the changes have come into force I have had near perfect JUB surfing to match every other website I visit.

The only significant change I noticed is the improved load times. Everything else still works essentially the same way. Just a new coat of paint. Don't see how that "ruins" things or what is there to figure out how to work.

If memory serves, this isn't the new look. It's the base skin that they're still loading everything into, and fixing some of the bugs. I'm thinking a new "skin" will be put in place shortly.

I've noticed that several Jubers are now linking their pics to JUB from Tumbler and other sites...They don't realize that the bandwidth is gonna become a problem and that site is gonna Block JUB...Years ago I would link my pics from other sites and the sites could not handle the url's being liknked to JUB and hundreds of pics I linked got Blocked by the other site...

Moderators I'm hoping you enable the My Settings: Uploading, Editing & Storage for pics on this site...In my opinion you can do away with the BLOGS if "space" is an issue...

Jubers wanna see Pics more than they wanna read Juber-BLOG postings...That's a fact...

Not so much a bug but more of a question? In the old version at the bottom of the page you used to be able to hit a button and go back to the section you were viewing. So if you were in Hot Topics you could click on a button and it would bring you back to Hot Topics, you also had the function to choose other sections to go to. That option does not seem to be in the new version, or is it me and I just have not figured it out yet?

We may end up with a Supporter poll. The opinions seem to be split on whether this format is better than the old format.
