We haven't put a spell check plugin back with this edition as it's really antiquated with modern browsers. If you are using a new web browser spell checking should be included which makes the one we could tack on here redundant. The less bells and whistles we add that isn't part of the core programming the better for future compatibility.

Thanks Seth. Interesting. I didn't realise Firefox included a spell check. It seems it does, but only one which is impossible to turn on.

Sorry to be a pain. I've fixed the spell check, so thanks for alerting me to the possibility, but discovered that the edit function has a time limit of only 5 minutes. Previously it was 15 or 20 minutes.

i'm not sure what the previous limit was, but i recall that it was pretty low. i never understood people complaining about it *shrug* after all, there is a preview function AND the possibility to proof read immediately after pressing the submit button.

but since there is the ability to keep history of a users post edit, we might up the limit. on the other hand, that edit history has an impact on server performance, so we might end up disabling this at some time again.

Post edits had a 20 minute limit, which was very helpful. Sometimes posts happen before thinking them through entirely, or someone else points out an error. If you change it to 10, for example, to reduce server burden, please let us know.

Another thing that might show up as progress continues - sexual orientation and relationship status are no longer under the avatar. I think this was an option before.

Mild one, since you're obviously still making major changes. But there WAS a drop-down menu just below the last post as recently as a few hours ago, and now that's gone. It was helpful, as it meant I didn't have to scroll up to the top to move away from the thread.

There IS a button marked "Top" at the bottom right of the screen, but when you click on "Top", nothing happens. From what I heard, that's not too uncommon with tops...

If it IS the new format -- then i hate change......."Comment function" seems to be missing -- within the posts and on my PM page -- no "View comments" that i can find anyway.....
and my buddies, who are now my "friends" have apparently all left town as I have None !

I was kinda hoping that with various "enhancements" there would be little flags (to the left -with the user info) showing "Country" as JUB covers a huge chunk of the world --- The last person I thought was from New Zealand is in Mississippi -- sooooo duhhhh......it's
all me, I guess...... well, like everything else in the last 5 years of my life, I'll adapt........somehow......

As for the small, nit-picky things I'll save them for now as I'm sure there's still work being done.

I'm so glad to see you all finished things in less than 48 hrs....it looks great and while there of course are things to get used to,this update had to be done and everything looks quite good on my first view of the new and improved JUB!I know that Seth and the other guys who worked so hard to make JUB what it has become today,deserve a lot of thanks and support.Jub's their baby....they built it up from their dreams of a great website of not only gay porn but a gay community.There isn't any better gay oriented website that brings the whole idea of community and yes,the porn.The community sets it apart,and though it doesn't pay the bills in itself,that community sense is what makes JUB unique,and will continue to do so.Seth and company may not be in charge anymore,but we are very fortunate to have them around dedicated and professional as ever as staff making the best experience out of this site.Of course JUB can't be the site it was as its burst onto the scene,but it seems that it is in great hands with Mark,his company and Seth,jd,Keys,Mikey,Thundercizzle and everyone working as the technical and support staff.Things change,but the community spirit and dedication to this site will hopefully remain strong and vibrant for many years to come.Thanks all!!!

as it has been said plenty of times, it's not the new format. it also has been said a few times that the comments will come back. also you can already see your old comments under "my settings".

they are contacts now. the old system let you add friends without them being asked. you can still add people without asking them, those are now contacts. you can make a contact a friend, but this will ask him if he is ok with that.

For me to insert an image, (without manually typing the IMG tags) I have to click the insert image button, click on From URL, then click in the box and paste the URL, then Uncheck the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" box then click ok. That's five clicks when it used to be two.

I was using the simple editor i have disabled the advanced image uploading tool, but most likely we will enable it again, as it helps newbies ALOT in uploading their own pics. one of the top questions that new users always needed explanations on how to add attachments to their posts.
