Hey all! I recently pitched to Quasar the idea of making a thread dedicated to faking and helping each other achieve a high standard when making them. Sometimes when you are faking you get to the point where you can not improve further without help. I know I eventually hit a wall where I would have stayed without input from others.
What This thread is for
Posting questions about faking, photoshop, etc. You post an image and get an honest critique and some specific examples of how it could be improved. You come to use with a specific image where there is something you just can't quite get right. If you a pic in this thread you are requesting help and advice.
What this thread is NOT for
Telling people how amazing their fakes are (we have a thread for that already). Posting new finished fakes you don't intend to work on or get advice about. Telling people their fakes are terrible. Negativity. Spamming. Posting if you cannot handle criticism. Making fakes for you.
All rules that apply in the main faking thread also apply here. Ye be warned!
So here is the preferred format of this thread (I understand sometimes you may need to mix it up).
1. Your question/concern/plea for help
2. The pics. You can post just the fake itself if you would like. If its an especially tough problem it is always helpful to post the fake + ALL source pics either through links or uploads (Uploading to JUB is not preferred because it downsizes images)
3. What you have tried/how you think it should be done?
4. What program are you using? Photoshop? Gimp? What version (most are on PS 5.1 or 5.5)
What others post in response:
However they see fit really. Whether it be explaining their opinion on it is. Telling you their technique. Etc. Or they they can take your pic itself and show you what it looks like them. Essentially please try to answer the questions presented. If you want to post a couple pics occasionally just to show your own style and abilities that is fine.....do not go overboard though. They are just for reference.
I plan on answering as many questions as time permits but others should feel free to answer questions as well. Everyone can (and must) contribute if this thread is to be a success.
