I'm surprised that the people who believe Noah's Ark story, don't ever suggest that the DNA of all the animals in the world was what was brought aboard. That would entirely fulfill the contradiction of the amount of space available even on the most massive boat ever built, and the number of species it was called upon to hold. (The most massive boat ever built would not have held a pair of every species.) If all the animals were ambulatory, there would have had to be enough food to keep them fed foir forty days. And the place would really start to stink...

Yes, if Noah's Ark contained a DNA synthesiser and a few exabytes of storage then it almost sounds believable doesn't it? Oh, and naturally this explains Iceland too. Iceland is obviously the plug in the giant drainhole into which the floodwaters receded.
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte. And Joseph Wilcox.

Documents, lol. Harry Potter is a document, he is no more real than this belief that a god was born in human form.

Because they read that verse as referring to murder, which is a legitimate rendering.

If you cook bacon, the grease comes out, now that's rendering too.

"Render unto Caesar" seems like a Jesus saying. How come religious institutions make a case for not needing to pay tax? Those megachurches built with the trappings and displays of wealth is a far cry from said man in a garment walking the roads of Galilee. If pork and other unclean things did not pass the lips of Jesus - that dream by wossisname was decades later, why make the decision to change it? This WWJD thing, would he have eaten pork? He didn't speak out on homosexuality, so why do Christians make a hoo ha of that and not follow the more ritually pure lifestyle of their lord?

Same god; same problem: continuing responsibility for the unethical and capricious behaviour. Incarnation is a bit too little too late.

Sounds like a pretty pathetic god that would need to change his mind. A truly omniscient god would get it right the first time and not need a rough draft to rewrite his own rules. Does this mean god is not all-knowing?

Apparently those twin pastors, the one who beat the boy and his brother who held the boy, were 23 at the time. Now they're playing the victim card, and have written books saying they're now suffering for Jesus. http://www.stufffundieslike.com/2011...aleb-thompson/

The brothers' father, Hank Thompson, is pastor of the church and leads the main congregation of about 300 members. Calls to his home and the church, which describes itself as "independent fundamental," went unanswered Tuesday.

Thompson told News 8 Austin that he believes his sons were trying to discipline the boy, but he doesn't think they alone caused the injuries.

"My son would've used a thin switch, that I'm positive of," he told the television station. He added: "My policy would've never been on the back like that ever. It would've been on the bottom."

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Maybe we can get the conservative Christians on board by reminding them that tax exemption for religious institutions applies to other religions as well. I can't imagine they would be too happy knowing their tax dollars are being used to subsidize Islam.

That pesky non-favoritism ammendment means you can't legislate to exclude other religions in favor of any other.
