though i thought the video for someone to love (with usher, im not sure about the title) was very energetic, i dont get the fascination and adulation over justin.
i thought the bieber-gomez pairing maybe true, but it is without a doubt, a good career move for both of them. plus his new song girlfriend with its sparkling mensa level lyrics, all seemed taken from the justin timberlake how to transition from lanky teen sensation to young adult handbook. bieber trying to act and trying to be cool beyond his age is kinda a hollow posturing. watching him interact with adam levine in the voice with that trying hard to act bit was very painful to watch.

I think Justin needs to look a other successful "teen heart throbs" and realize at some point he will have drop that title and start to work at becoming respected by the general population. I use Efron as an example. He could have kept doing the same "musical" type deal after HSM but he was smart enough to take on more mature roles so people would stop saying oh "thats the guy that is still playing in those kiddy roles. " I think zac is in the process of accomplishing that goal, and it will even be harder for Justin because he is far more well know then Zac!

I'd agree with that. I think he and his management are already trying to mature-up/dirty-up his image a bit (that full-on, directly to the camera, crotch grab during the "X-Factor USA" performance as a Michael Jackson/Jackson 5 homage, when the opening of the song used a bit of a sample of "I Want You Back", was a good start - and non-PG-enough that the show censored it by abruptly cutting away to a shot of the judges' table for a few seconds on the delay right at the start of the grab).
