Yeah i've been noticing after reading some of the graphic novels that a whole episode may only account for 5-7 pages in the book.

Last night's episode was just ok. Only really exciting part was about the last 30 seconds.
yea and i have a feeling that the only exciting part of the next episode with be the first 30 seconds
But thats why zombie movies are not really horror movies. Because if all other on life remains such as plants, living humans, bugs then the dead cannot last that long no matter how they try they decompose & fall apart. The chemistry of the earth has not changed or other things would die and this doesn't happen.
Even in cold they would rot, in the heat they would just fall apart and stink
Flies lay maggots , which would de-flesh the carrion in less than a hot humid Atlanta day in them and if there are deer there are dogs running wild and coyotes and they would have a field day on the stench and a decaying muscle on a zombie still moving would be no match for a hungry pit bull mutts running free.
It would take a while because billions of people don't all die at once but you could ride it out and hopefully avoid other infections from the decay and bacteria that would be worse then the zombies.
Dead things just don't look the same if they are truly dead for very long. Plus there need to be some bloated up gas filled zombies which happens to dead things they inflate and seep pus. You hit a gas bag zombie with a gun and it will look like a water balloon blimp blowing up.
Dust to dust....
The real threat and fear will start after the zombies are all dead and the human safety net is gone and its road warrior time where 21st century people are back like cave men as everything is used up or not working.
The humans left are worse creatures of the night then the walking dead. Don't believe it ask someone who saw Hitler in action or Bin Laden.
Romero's movies both good and bad are about us, we are the walking dead and more scary then any zombie will ever be.
Oh yes even if they were still alive with such wounds it would not stop flies from laying maggots in the compromised flesh of any zombie, millions of flies even on a living animal with a bad wound will be covered in maggots after a day or two. It is likely those insects that would quickly end the zombie invasion.
i like the show, but what i thought of last night was that this story has been told before. the zombies could just as easliy have been indians and this story could have been set in the old west. the ending esp reminded me of that. 2 soldiers trapped behind enemy lines with the indians, nazis,communists- what have you closing in.
i have not read the graphic novels but heard the raves- so i hope the stories start going in that direction and not down the same path as a hundred other tv shows have.
Just caught up with the first 2 episodes of S2.
Honestly, I'm still enjoying the show immensely BUT I feel like the character development is just falling by the wayside. After awhile, the super extended zombie-killing scenes and their gruesomeness will start to loease their shock/entertainment value if they don't cut down that...I'd like to see more screen-time given to the characters doing some mundane things, just surviving and interacting instead of nonstop gore. That's why I still think the pilot is the strongest episode, it had a nice balance of drama and action.
MAJOR ISSUE FOR ME = I'm still not relating to/enjoying any of the female characters on this show. Maggie seems really cool though, so that might change. I keep hearing that there are some awesome female characters in the comic so I'm still waiting to be impressed on that front. I think I might start reading the comic soon, too, just to check them out cos it seems like the show is going to take its damn time.
p.s. Aw, Rick and Shane:
They had some sweet BFF moments. <3 It will suck when/if they air out the whole...sleeping w/ the wife situation.
p.p.s. If they keep this up, all the fangirls will be 'shipping them. lol
I want Shane to love me in my butt. He is so delicious.
Yeah, that lost girl is lucky I am not in their group. If it was me, I will be like "bitch, I ain't gonna look for your dumb ass daughter. She's a walking zombie appetizer. Start this shit ass RV and let's go already!"
I wish they just abandon search and leave. I want more zombies.
Where the hell is that girl?
Kind of a slow episode.
It was interesting that while technically unspoken, the whole "the black person in these types of situations usually ends up dead" aspect of the story was acknowledged by T-Dog.
Liking the season so far, but its still slow as HELL. The scene where they were hiding under the cars was cool but it was wayy more exciting during the season 2 preview. I want to know if they were ever bring back the black man and his son and Merle. I haven't read the comics so I should add that to my To-Do list. I still think Rick's wife is a bitch.
Shane is hot. But I feel guilty for liking him.
His trying to rape Lori still freaks me out about him. But apparently Lori is more concerned about getting Shane to be nicer towards her son. Wtf. Anyway.
So I think I'll just crush on Rick and Glenn. They are cute minus the attempted-rape.
But seriously. Steven Yeun. Relevant to my interests. Hate that Glenn is basically an extra in most episodes. lol
Really? Wtf is the tv show doing with the character then. Weird.
I'm going to start reading the comic because I just don't think I'm getting the full The Walking Dead experience out of the show. Also, I am kind of psyched about finding out more about this one badass character (Michonne) that people always go on about.
Dis guna be gud. ~
most interesting thing about this episode was the charming old country farm house interiors.
When I first saw ^^ that scene, I was like, "Oh my God! Is Shane going to kiss him?!?" I was so excited! I say shoot the sheriff and leave me the deputy! I want him!!!
I like this season... but it does seem to be a lot slower then the past one. Everyone I watch it with is hating the females characters this season (I watch the show every Sunday with two gay guys, my sister, and three girl friends). It would be nice to see a strong female lead, not a frantic crying mother, a suicidal "life is over" chick, and a sidekick. Where's the Ripley, Sarah Connor, or Buffy woman? Girls kick ass, let's see that!
You are right.
I started a couple days ago and I've read the first 10 issues so far. I've been holding out because I enjoy the show and didn't want to basically spoil myself for it but...it's too late, now. I think I'm getting a bit obsessed. lol
Anyway, y'all. It was renewed for a 3rd season. ~
^ No, I went from being totally outraged at what went down with Otis...To swooning over Shane's shirtlessness and shaved head.![]()
(Dunno about any other steaminess but that was hot omg).
This was the strongest episode of the season so far. I loved that the characters had some downtime to discuss things. Maggie & Glenn <3. Lori and Rick's conversation about children growing up in a zombie infested world was very touching.
I really can't stand that child actor who plays Carl tho. He's terrible. Can they recast that kid, please? Ugh.
ps. I'll just leave this here:

Dang...already a gif of shane.
NICE!
Quite the dick move by Shane. Attempted Rape wasn't enough? Now he adds murder to the list.
I don't really blame Shane too much. I might have done the same thing, especially since this was a total stranger. Besides, if the zombies had got both of them, they wouldn't have made it back with the supplies needed to save the boy's life.
And honestly, when they first showed Shane coming back to the house without Otis but didn't show how the zombies got him, the first thought that popped into my head was that Shane sacrificed him to get away. Then when they showed it I was like, "OMFG!!! I knew it!!"
I'll just say a couple of things about the new season: the budget has definitely been cut, and you can see it doesn't have that grande apocalyptic feeling to it that it had last season. Also, the zombies look less scary and more human like than last season.
However, I can forget all that with all the bromantic moments this season. And wow.. Shane.. I definitely didn't see that coming! Overall a good start to the season, but I still liked season 1 more.
I like Ryan Gosling, Chris Pine, Chace Crawford, Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hiddleston, Kris Allen, Armie Hammer, Teddy Sears, Jon Kortajarena
The season is moving slow. But they now have 12 episodes in a season instead of just 6. But this season is no where near as good as the first season. I agree that the wife is a bitch and Carl is a annoying kid. Someone needs to get bit soon.
The storylines are dragging out too slowly. The lost girl plot is boring as fuck. Aside from the surprise at the end of the last episode, this season has been forgetful so far.
Finally saw the latest episode and I am LIVING for this show.
Don't know if I like season 1 more or season 2.
One thing I did like more about the first season were the relationships. It seems finding this fucking girl has sucked up all the air in the room not to mention the kid getting shot.
Now that he is alright, and hopefully the girl will be found in the next episode (With an explanation on where in the fuck she went) more character drama will go down
I agree with everyone who is tired of looking for the girl. If she isn't found or abandoned next episode.... grrrr. Bored of that.
I think they need to let the girl and her mother go or have the dead girl show up and bit the mother. This show needs something. The whole thing where Amy changed was really good. But now her sister is all angry and depressed. Season 2 doesn't have the same wow factor season 1 did.
He's the most intriguing character on the show at the moment. His characterization is pretty dark but it's still fairly easy to be sympathetic towards him. I just started reading the comic and I was surprised to find out that he isn't even in the comic all the much. That's annoying.
The thing is tho, he's a bit of a dumbass. Not really evil, but always making botched up decisions. Like, WHY NOT JUST SHOOT OTIS IN THE HEAD? The leg, man? Really? How cruel. And the thing with Lori, yes, because trying to rape her will show her how much you care. Ugh.
LMFAO. I hope so. I'm so sick of those two. They are a real drag.
i heart glenn & rick

Everyone is entitled to their beliefs. But to me there is no justification for what Shane did. I dont find him hot and I can barely look at him anymore. What he did has made him completely ugly and beyond redemption imo.
Plus it's just annoying as hell for the overall story. As if this season wasnt already moving at a snail's pace, it's just gonna lead to more of this inner demon struggle bullshit and less actual progress of the story.
^^ It's just a TV show; not worth getting that worked up over. Besides if he hadn't done it, neither one of them would've made it back with the supplies and the kid might have died. Sure, what he did wasn't "right" but when you're in the situation they're in you don't always have the luxury of doing "the right thing". When the world ends it's every man for himself.
my thoughts:
Sofia, (the girl) will be found at the end of this mini-season
(it is only going for 6 epis then a break till feb with another 6)
She may be found with a group of people sorta like the farm group but more dark
or she comes back zombified
Carl after the deer talk and the events after i thnk he is not long for the show
(besides how long can kids be kept young over a three year filming cycle??)
Shane: he will get what is coming to him,
That's always a possibility. But I doubt that most zombies would go to him just because their sense of smell isn't that developed. They usually are attracted to sound.
Haha. That's probably on point with Sophia. Maybe by then she'll be a warrior princess capable of handling zombies on her own :/ And as for kids being kept young, if they have a 28 year olds playing high schoolers, I'm sure Carl and Sophia will be just fine playing their parts. Besides, the adults are getting any younger either
And I was again disappointed today. Next week looks promising. Maybe I just need to rewatch the episode? My friend said he was on edge the entire episode :| I wonder if I missed something? I normally do.
Tonight's episode.... mediocre.
Daryl's trying to get some milf action started. Let's hope we DON'T go there.
Who didn't see the last 30 seconds of tonight's episode coming?? I was barely able to stay awake, this show's downfall will be it being too slow. But yay for Merle coming back!!!!
that thing in the hole
was i the only one who thought of the character from the goonies?
You know it is a weird thing when you are getting some play in the middle of a hunt for supplies at the end of the world.
AMC, way to spoil the rather big news for next week's episode.
Boring episode. Best part = pulling bloated, fatty zombie out of the well. Worst part = yak, yak and more yakking between old guy and emo sheriff guy.
I still want to worship Shane for sexual purposes.
It's a sad world we live in when I enjoyed last night's episode of Once Upon A Time more than last night's episode of The Walking Dead.
Snow White literally kicked more ass last night than the whole Zombie Slaying Team... I guess I just expect more ass kicking on Walking Dead.
I guess I am the only who likes the drama in Walking Dead.
Action + Zombies = Typical.
To be honest I don't need to see another zombie for the rest of the season. I just want to see where these mother fuckers end up.
