Unloadonme, when will you grace our presence (and our ears) with your voice?
I love Yorkshire accents. They sound warm to me, and evoke images of a kindly grandmother who wakes us up with cookies and milk (biscuits and milk, in UK). "Git up, dearie, I made something for you."
Or do you speak the Queen's English?
^ Agreed. And Yorkshire accents always remind me of The Secret Garden.

Well, I've found that depending on where you go in Yorkshire and to whom you speak, and what age group they are, they can sound nothing like me or almost like the old guy there. In Barnsley, about 15 miles down the road from me, 'layk' means 'to play'. It comes from old Norse "leikr" so I've been told. But I'm not going to get all mardy about it allNot today at least.

Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did.

I wish I could respond with a recording, but it's too long-winded. XD
First of all, even though it seems self-evident, I had never really thought of what you brought up there with respect to women trying to avoid putting themselves at risk of abuse. That does make a lot of sense. I now have a new appreciation for that sort of female modesty you're referring to.
And I definitely think women have much more of an expectation to suppress their sexuality than men. It's totally unfair, but that's just how it is.
I don't mind it too much, except I've been frustrated with this phenomenon where women sometimes belittle the male body. They sometimes perpetuate this "men are gross" meme that's already reinforced by straight men enough as is.
I think men don't think about that particular aspect of it unless/until it happens to them. Unfortunately men do get raped too, I would have no idea what the frequency is, but I do know it's much less talked about/admitted to. It's certainly not something men are brought up to "be afraid of" per se as is the case with women, so I think it's less of an influence as far as how they go about (or restrain) their sexuality.
sorry...i ramble...

I think it's a definite double standard.
Women who like sex are deemed as whores, and trashy - someone you fuck, and not someone you marry, where guys are supposed to show how potent they are, and screw as much as possible. I can see why women would want to hide their sexuality too, cause women can talk about it without acting on it, where as men, it seems like a lot of times once they're worked up and horny they turn into a chum filled shark infested water feeding frenzy out of control. (No offense Buzzer!)
Thanks everyone.
My voice is a little scratchy.

Aw... Dont you make me cry on Valentine's Day LOLThank you.
You are so encouraging. I know that you are still young yet but you must utilize your calming, paternal voice one day and have children.
I can just imagine you being a kind Papa, but also letting them know that no shit is going to go down.![]()
Nobody commented on my clip. Is it that awful?![]()
"Hello, I am called Laufey, and that is my name." Is this right?
