This will sound obnoxious/immature, but I did a little experiment in testing the desperation in guys who hit on me online (I figured it would be no worse than any other standard rejection).

I told this guy I wanted to go on a date with him at Wal Mart and eat some Funyuns and he STILL wants to go out with me. WTF?

I don't know about desperate but it sounds like his limited income from flipping burgers
keeps the 15/16 year old under budgetary restraints..ie, funyums at Walmart are doable,
    Olive Garden is not.

A user who I find obnoxious has posted a thread asking a daft, irrelevant question, as he so often does. I want to post a sarcastic (some might even say trollish) response, but I don't want to be a troll. So I'm expending all my will power to not respond to it. I must persist. I must stay strong.

I don't normally read refujiunderground's posts. It's nothing personal; I don't dislike him or anything. I just don't read his posts for the same reason I don't use gamefaqs: walls of text. Every time I see a wall of text, I lose all motivation to read the post and will, more often than not, simply skip past it. I'm impatient and lazy, I know.

Someone in class started I rumor that I have asthma, even though I DON'T. If this gets out, they won't let me SCUBA. If I can't SCUBA, what's this all I been for? What am I working toward?

Okay Razor, let me cut to the chase.
First, if you have asthma, any certified diving
training facility only requires a release by your
physician. Second, if the dimwits listen to
hearsay as truth, that physician can also sign
papers stating you do not have nor have you
    been treated for asthma.

Sometimes I am so flirtatious (almost too flirtatious) with some of the men on this site--I wonder if some of them think I'm a "creeper".

I approve of flirtatiousness. We are (most of us anyway) either too uptight and sterile or too much like a kid in a candy store. Flirtatiousness is a happy medium.
Americans need to keep their guns so they can protect themselves from gun violence just like Nancy Lanza did. And like Chris Kyle did. And like Gabby Giffords did. And like Tom Clements did. And like Michael Piemonte. And Joseph Wilcox.

Sausy and Vannie don't post much anyway, but RJ's absence from JUB is worrisome. He never misses a day.

I kinda like the misguided but trying kid.

Even when he was at his most unlikeable/disagreeable self he never let 12 hours go by
without saying something. Now that he has taken some lessons in how to 'win friends
and influence people', some Jubbernauts have seen through the noise and actually like
    him. Fingers crossed...

Hey maybe he met a fellow Stormtrooper and they are licking each others wounds or uh

    Come on man......it happens

Actually, it's not quite as bad as I thought. I thought it would get worse around the election, but it's about the same as it's ever been. There are just a few posters who are about half as tolerable as a broken record playing a Michael Bolton song on repeat.

I'm even more worried about Cristoir, because he's in Hoboken, and that marvelous place was wrecked by flooding. Add Loki81 to the list as well, and I don't remember where Vannie is in NJ, but the other 3 cover Jersey City and I think Maplewood, which are places which didn't get into the news.

I don't know exactly where Sausy's new place is (map-wise), but it's not on the waterfront. Way too insanely spendy in that part of JC.

I have friends in Metuchen who got no water in the basement, and only some wind.

If you see this, C, please let us know you're all right.

And I'll also agree that I'm worried about refuji.

Here is the thread you should keep an eye on to see if people are alright. Loki, Refuj and Vannie have posted. Luckily and hopefully I think the only thing people have to worry about is the lack of power for these members.

While cleaning out my foyer closet earlier, I ran across some old birthday and Christmas cards a close friend gave to me years before he died. I haven't read them in years, and the feeling of knowing that I lost one of the only people I could truly call a friend brought about mixed feelings and bittersweet memories. It was so overwhelming to read them. I couldn't even cry. Just one of those..am I breathing? moments.

    Thanks D xo

I'm very good in a crisis. They don't call me Preparation H for nothing My honey and I have a good collection of oil lamps,so the house was lit up like a Christmas tree.I was picturing a window blowing out, knocking over the oil lamps and the house exploding in flames. The rain was pretty much very light for North Jersey,so that was good for some of us.Parts of Bergen County had power,so several towns over we found take out pizza. The gas lines have been a little crazy, but are getting better today.I had a 5lb bag of salted cashews I started eating on Mon afternoon, and they are almost gone today Fatboy!

I hope Sausy is ok...glad that tomba is ok,and I never heard of this Refuji guy...j/k....

Some of the Jersey Shore towns that I grew up in are really destoyed.Long Beach Island,Seaside Heights and Point Pleasant among a few.Very sad.Nature has a way of makin you feel so powerless and small. Thanks for all the thoughts everyone...xo John

One more thing for those who have asked.....

The banjo is safe and sound.....

This doesn't really shock anybody or damage my reputation, but I voted Friday. That now means that I have earned the right to COMPLAIN about the President/VP the next four years. I also have no doubt at all that, even if my "team" wins, I will find plenty to bitch about.

You could at least base it on the sex appeal of each quarterback. I don't think anyone would choose country bumpkin Eli Manning over hunky Tom Brady. That guy has some super sperm too. This is what, Giselle's third child with him and he already has two with another mother.

I have had professional massages from perhaps 7 people over the years - all but one of them have been men. Being what I consider to be absolutely 100% gay, it's a no-brainer that I'm going to prefer getting massages from guys.

For no particular reason, nearly all of these massages have taken place in southeast Michigan, or in Chicago - always more than 200 miles from home.

For one thing, nobody even somewhat near to here has been recommended to me, as I know nobody nearby who ever gets massages. Usually I go by word of mouth.

Now for the big surprise out of all of this...the best massage I get (or have gotten) from any of these people comes from the WOMAN masseuse who has her clinic near Detroit!

The last time I got her massage was a couple of years ago, when I made an appointment with her - when running into her at a Kroger supermarket! (Yes, it is REALLY strange when I unexpectedly run into somebody who I know, when I'm doing something 500 miles from home. It's happened to me about four times.)

I make all of my more recent threads with the No Animated Gifs tag so the "differently abled" brigade doesn't pollute it.

I hate sleeping alone in my bed and it's taking me awhile to adjust to it.

Does the "no animated GIFs" tag automatically disable them? I'm asking because I don't know.

As far as I know, they can still post GIFs in threads with that tag, but the mods will delete them as soon as it's brought to their attention.

^ I think he was asking about OH as in Other Half (who seems to be gone, therefore leaving him in a solitary bed).
