As some of you may know, I'm a relatively new, first time home owner with my also new (almost a year now) BF.

The other day I was watching "Ask This Old House" on PBS - a show and channel I almost never watch.

They were talking about the weakest link in your house plumbing being the hot and cold hookups to the washing machine. They're rubber hoses, and they can burst - often times when the home owner is gone, flooding their houses.

Out of curiosity, I checked mine and one of them had a huge bubble on the side of it!!! It could have gone at any time!

We didn't buy the fancy gadget that they suggested, but we did buy reinforced hoses with stainless steel webbing around them quoted as being "Burst Proof".

It's like it was Fate, or something.

I was not aware, so congratulations on both your acquisitions.

may they give you years of comfort and pleasure.

Had a water heater burst once but no washer hoses yet.

I saw that episode! It aired a couple of days ago.

I had a weird moment today. We were discussing Chantix in another thread, and the moment I got off the puter, I got up, walked around the corner, and saw a Chantix commercial on TV.

    Surreal.

    Johann -

    It was pretty surreal.

How many times have I watched remodeling shows on HGTV and they meant nothing to me.

Finally one paid off in a big way and saved me a huge ton of money, aggravation, and heartache.

I may start watching that show more often now!

I sent a PM, but I'll publicly say THANK YOU to Lefty for the kind words.

Re: Confess something that might surprise others or damage your reputation on JUB - 2012

i really need a jobby job right now and not one of those rag tag shits. my mom and me were arguing yesterday where she was saying "go work at target" and i was like "hell no". she was mad that i was locking myself in my room all day. i just want to be left alone.

that's not my confession though. what i DO want to confess is that ever since i came out to my father yesterday and will come out to my brother and my friends soon whether it's this week or next week or next month (might be this week since it's national coming out day on thursday.) i've had a growing desire to have a friend with benefits or even a boyfriend. i'm more down for the friends with benefits thing though. i don't think i'm ready to have a boyfriend just yet. my life isn't together enough for me to enjoy that. masturbation isn't keeping my feelings in check. i usually masturbate to keep my feelings of horniness and romantic desires in check. if i'm able to find a guy around here that's interested in doing the same thing i want to do, i would love to take him home and stay over for the night. i want to top too. not really in the bottoming mood. i don't know about staying over the night at his place though. i'd fuck and then go home feeling all happy like "i got some ass". other than that, i think i'm doing pretty well besides needing a job. i'm well on my way.

i'm all down to have sex BUT i'm paranoid knowing that there's guys floating around with hiv and diseases that don't care to get themselves tested. i will straight up tell a dude to show me that he's been tested or to go get a test before he has sex with me. i really don't want to take their word for it with them saying "i'm hiv negative". there's too many lying ass dudes out here.

    How about graveyard stocking?

Whenever I'm at Target and I see these merchandise messes laying about, I start organizing them.

    I find it fun.

According to most of my friends, it's impossible to get too many tattoos. They speak of getting their "ink fix", and many of them go off to get a tattoo without any idea what they're going to get - they just like getting them. And it's not a good week on Facebook without at least three photos of new tattoos, and two posts angrily demanding the end of "tattoo discrimination".

I still never have gotten one. I've contemplated getting a tattoo before, off and on. If I were going to get one today, I'd probably get the Talespin pirate logo (you can barely make it out on the back of the plane here):

Either on my bicep, or one of my butt cheeks. But it's always a passing fancy. After I mull it over a bit, I go "Nah" and then don't think about it again for months. Or until one of my friends asks why I don't have a tattoo again.

Thing is - nearly every entry-level job is customer service to some degree. And the longer you stay without work, the harder it's going to be get something. Nothing makes you more attractive to employers than employment.

^RJ, I was meaning to get back to you on a couple of things--run some ideas by you, etc.

It looks as if you're looking for a new career. I remember you'd taken classes in criminal justice and had a degree, but a career in police work didn't work out for you. With this in mind, have you considered going back to school?

Let me ask you--how good are you in math? My understanding is that actuarial science has a 0% unemployment rating. It's one thing to think about. There are others.

yo.................... i can't believe you pulled up that tale spin toy up. oh shit!!!! i had that toy growing up. i can't believe that you pulled that up. you actually were thinking of getting a tattoo of the logo? you're awesome, dude. you probably should go for putting the tat on your bicep. if you wanna go for something sexy, go for putting one on your ass. go for it, dude.

i know how it goes. the thing is that when i was working and applying to jobs, nobody was STILL trying to give me a shot at all. hell, i actually got as much job offers in these two months without work than i got working 6 years at taco hell. that's what's crazy. nobody was trying to give me a shot. all i'm trying to do is work at a small law office or something like that for the meantime. that's it. all i'm trying to do is do something in my field where i can simply use to get me where i want to go. that's it. i don't even feel like working at whole foods or target or any of these other spots because i'm afraid that employers in my field will go like "what have you been doing in your field?" taco bell and target?? what that has to do with criminal justice? it's messed up that it's hard to get an internship and worst off these employers want you to have like 2 to 5 years experience just to get a start off job in your field? how am i supposed to get that experience if no place in my field wants to hire me or worst yet, there's NO openings.

the next new jersey police exam is in may 2013. i'm not waiting that long. fuck it, i'm going to law school.

If you were trying to go from working at Taco Bell to working at a small law office, there's your problem. That's actually a big leap. Baby steps are required in the work world, sometimes.

to be honest with you, i never really was interested in becoming a cop in the first place. i actually wanted to go to law school to be a lawyer and i still do. i thought that a criminal justice degree would be the best choice as a degree where let's say the law school thing didn't fall through at the moment like right now. i could become a cop, correctional officer, private investigator or do something else. i did the lsat thing which i got a horrible score at. when i was in college, i never really thought about getting internship experience at a law firm or doing whatever i needed to do first off so i wouldn't be in this position now.

the thing about the cop thing is i still wouldn't mind doing it BUT the thing is the really aren't that much police departments that are hiring at this moment in new jersey. there's the nypd but i dunno about that. they have the correctional officer recruit thing coming up and then they have the state exam for most of the police departments coming up in may of 2013. that's a long time from now. even if i were to become a cop, i still want to go to law school.

i'm actually stressed out with the whole application process of law school. the LSAT for one, having to go to my former professors hoping that they remember me and are willing to write recommendations for me, then the employment experience, volunteer experience to show that i'm doing things, and etc. i should have done this while i was in school but i actually was paying more attention to my schoolwork trying to get some decent grades so i can go to law school. it's actually stressing me out thinking about the whole thing to the point where i'm procrastinating or am acting scared to move forward. fuck! i need to just believe in myself and do what i have to do. it's going to be tough but i can do it.

i'm actually trying to do something small like file clerk or working in the mailroom really. i really don't care if the pay is bad as long as it's experience under my belt where law schools see that i have an interest in law. that's what the career counsel for the law school i was thinking about applying to told me. a good gpa, decent lsat score, teacher recommendation, and working in a law office doing whatever to show that i have an interest in the field. something like that to show that i have an interest in law. hell, i actually applied to be an entry level probation officer. what it's beginning to look like is that i might have to go do some bullshit ass part time job for some money, apply to some law firm or policing agency once again and see my way from here.

i thought about getting a security license so i can work for g4s. one thing that i simply need right now is car. i don't have one, don't have the money either and that's the reason why i can't apply to as much places as i'd like to apply to. i'm actually looking at new york city spots for work since new jersey isn't really a good place for employment at the time. i'm confident that i'll find what i need though. i'm NOT trying to go back to customer service or do any of that. if i do stock work, i'm saving up loot for a car where i can move on to better jobs over here.

you know something that really irked me. i coulda had a fucking decent job or was a candidate to have this job that paid at least 17 an hour working at a hospital doing security. i couldn't get the job because i didn't have a car and it was on the OTHER side of new jersey. WTF!!! coulda worked for customs and my township police department if i hadn't fucked up on the written test. it's all good though. i'm trying til i get somewhere.

Again, that's more of a leap than you think. The thing about working fast food is that there's not much "paperwork" unless you're manager (if you were then just disregard).

Something like bank teller is a good conduit to clerical work.

Bank tellers have to put up with worst kind of verbal abuse from customers. (Money brings out the worst in us.) I don't think RJ has the temperament to be able to deal with that kind of abuse.

i wasn't a manager. don't think i could have been either considering that i don't have a car and wouldn't be able to handle the stress of running a restaurant.

i was actually shooting to be a bank teller. in fact, i could have been one fucking 5 years ago had i NOT went to summer school trying to rush up to get that associates degree. might as well apply again. i most definitely wouldn't mind doing a less stressful, slow paced customer service job than let's say somewhere like taco bell or a supermarket. i don't think i could deal with another job like that without having a nervous breakdown or damn near snapping on somebody.

if nothing falls through by november 1st, i'll just take up security to get some christmas money. i'm confident that i'll get something though before then though.

what's wrong with being a lawyer? i was actually planning on defending people in court, getting involved in human rights such as discrimination against gays and things of that nature.

if i were to be a cop, it would have to be somewhere else. most definitely not around where i live. i think it would be a conflict of interest and i certainly don't trust myself with a firearm. fireman, naw...

I think it's partly a result of established 'trust', a development simply from speaking to someone long enough. Though personally, at this point, I believe it can be extremely naive to be very trusting of people online. I said that I didn't care, not because I don't believe that it's wrong, but because even if he is lying the most he's getting from it are some erotic messages. Unless there's some real proof found I'm not even sure what the point in bringing it up is.

It's like accusing someone of stealing without having enough proof to really pin it on them. Now you've just made an awkward situation out of it and the person hasn't even been proven guilty.

How about a sheriff? You'd serve notices. Fun. Then there's probation and juvie and all that other good stuff. You can make a difference there.

That's all fine and well, but again, for the 20 thousandth time: it's not so much about what the person's getting out of stealing pics - it's about what's being done to the person who has their pics stolen.

I realize that, Razorz, which is why I acknowledged that it's wrong in a section that you failed to bold. It can't be said that he's doing something wrong to another being, however, as no one has proven that the pictures aren't actually his.

Regardless, I see no reason for me to continue discussing it. If someone finds evidence they'll email it to a mod and that will be the end of it. /shrug

True. The fact that any of us have discussed it for the past 40 posts or whatever shows how much most of us need to just go get laid.

My dad was a property lawyer [not your typical kind of law] and I can tell from refuji's personality, that he would not make a fitting lawyer. I could possibly see him in the criminal justice department but not as a lawyer. Hell, one of my former roommates in college had a nervous breakdown while at law school at William & Mary and he was basically a genius.

There is a test on how you can tell if someone has the temperament to be a lawyer.

Refuji, how would you respond to this statement...

Maybe if you didn't leave your panties laying around the house like a goddamn common whore...

yeah, more than enough. they all seemed like down to earth average joes like you and me.

    what does :suspiro: mean?

conflict in interest as in i don't want to be having to arrest or have to bother anyone that i'm cool with. i also don't want to be involved in the harassment of other black men and women. the police over here are known to do that.

no, i don't trust myself with a firearm because i'm afraid that i might hurt somebody or myself. what happened to me last week and yesterday is more than enough proof. i just started flipping out and lost total control of my body and my mind where i lost touch with reality. let's say if there was a gun in the mix, i probably would have shot somebody or myself. i'm sure you wouldn't want a guy like me walking around with a gun especially when i have my moments of paranoia, emotional instability, and now derealization/depersonalization issues.

sheriff?? the thing is a lot of these police agencies in the state of new jersey are not hiring right now. i would have to wait til next may to sign up. i'm just going to go the law school route.

You're in NJ? Lots of pressure being a cop. I can't even imagine. I can only see it as a requiring a tremendous sense of moral obligation.

But RazorsEdge where did you get the idea that I thought YOU were stealing others' photos? Where did that come from? I'm utterly bewildered. (I was just joking with my comment about your avatar.)

However, I think it's possible that someone has stolen your photos. Have you backtraced the photos in your gallery?

^I scrolled back and read all my posts, RazorsEdge. I think you must have misunderstood, because I have never even suspected that you stole your photos, much less accused you of it.

The only post I could find of mine was "RazorsEdge is not really the guy in his avatar". Razorz, that avatar is a cartoon. Surely you knew I was just kidding?

Something that might surprise others or ruin my reputation? OK.

I have a personality quirk that I've never seen anybody else mention. Well, three of them. Does anybody agree?

    1. Asymmetry bothers me. That's why I don't like faux-moes. But also, the something about the look of regular spectacles bothers me, and it's difficult to explain.

Look into the mirror. See how much narrower the glasses frames are, compared to the arms? The arms look "spread out", or "sprayed". Why can't they make eyeglasses that meet exactly flush with the frame, so that you can't see the arms from the front?

For this reason, for my permanent glasses, I want pince-nez.

    2. It bothers me when people say "uhh" too much when they speak. Even the best speakers do it, and some do it excessively.

    3. Sometimes, some people gasp for breath too loudly when they speak, too, in between sentences. If you listen for those gasps of breath in a speech long enough, they'll become fingernails-on-a-chalkboard to you.

    4. President Obama dropped his hands on the lectern at least a 100 times when he gave the SOTU address. Did anybody else notice this? It drove me nuts.

Ok, I said three, and I gave you four.

    Sorry.

    Bored in Reno old boy?

    1. splayed and yes they do. so, contacts or lasik...end of problem

    2. Most people talk so much shit I don't even hear the uhhs.

    3. The heavy breathers, especially news people radio or tv

    4. His hands were bad enough, then he kept looking for a tele-prompter.
I could even bear with that. But the frigging whsles in his sentences like
his dentures don't fit.......ARGH,, kil, maim, kill. kill.

Okay, gave you back your 4 and I am not sorry. As for the Raz, give him
a day or so to cool his jets and he won't even remember the discussion.

I'd like to think I'm not much of a trend-follower...but neither am I a trend-avoider. If something appeals to me, whether it's hip today or not, I'll probably do it. I've remained tattoo-free for over forty years not because tattoos weren't trendy, but because I didn't have enough impetus to get one. And at this moment, I still don't. I may change my mind and decide to stamp my ass with the Pirate logo at some point in my life, but right now, not interested.

I actually prefer just making T-shirts. I'll find a design I like, and put it on a T-shirt for myself. Cheaper than a tattoo, and I can take it off whenever I want. Of course, it doesn't make me a badass like a tattoo does, but then again, I'm not a badass. I do have this logo on a T-shirt, with Karnie on the back. I think I have a photo of it somewhere...

^Here's another question, used by experts in criminal justice to find those who have the mindset of a killer.

If you know the answer, please don't ruin it by posting it in here. PM me and I'll tell you the answer. After some time has passed, I'll post the answer in the thread.

Anyway, Suzie goes to Effie's funeral. At this funeral, in the crowd of mourners, Suzie meets the love of her life--he's gorgeous, his eyes smile, and when he looks into her eyes, he can see into her soul. Suzie knows on an intuitive level that "he's the one". That night, when she went to bed, she was still so smitten over the man that she couldn't sleep.

The next day, Suzie kills Effie's sister.

    Why?

    - - - Updated - - -

Now Maxpower, you get your twat-licking ass in here and tell us the answer to YOUR riddle.

@RazorzEdge: Oh, I see; you were just kidding.

It's awfully hard to tell over the Internet sometimes. In another thread, another JUBber and I were having this exact same discussion. We can't see a smile, or a twinkle in the eye, or a tone in the voice, so very very often misunderstandings grow on the Internet. This was one of them.

Truth be told, I can't say I condone picture-stealing. That doesn't reflect what's in my heart. Instead, it concerns me that just one side is getting all of the blame.

I can give you a really good analogy. Suppose somebody downloads a music file on BitTorrent and gets a virus. On one hand, you can feel empathy for him. He's scared, paranoid, angry, annoyed that he has gotten a virus--afraid his identity has gotten stolen, his credit cards, etc..

But at the same time, it's difficult to feel sympathy for him. Especially if he's a young man, he knows the risks of downloading/pirating music, and he does it anyway--in a way, he has brought it on himself.

Picture-stealing is like this, Razorz. The instant you click "upload" on your computer to upload your pics, your pics are out there in Cyberspace forever, and are liable to get stolen. SexyLexy knows this and accepts that risk, which shows a sense of responsibility and maturity on his part.

RazorzEdge, I was serious about your own pics getting stolen. You could classify as a "cute ginger cub", so your own pics just might lurk on the Internet somewhere, on a diaper site, or "I need a good spanking" site, or an S&M site.

Have you thought about this possibility?

I think stealing someone's Face/Body/Identity is a lot more severe then stealing their work...

    ... just my opinion.
