I think the thing that is confusing the issue is a new facilty called 'Enhanced Attachment Uploading'. This is set to 'ON' by default. To turn it off, go to...

My Settings
My Account
General Settings - scroll down to 'Miscellaneous Options' and the third heading will allow you turn OFF this facility. Remember to scroll down and 'Save'.

You should now find that when you 'manage attachments' it will look a lot more familiar...

Any time any site upgrades -- JUB, IMDb or whatever, ANY site -- there are little hurdles and learning curves. We users can get frustrated, but imagine how frustrating things are for the site administrators who have to untangle all the knots?

Here I'm testing LuvFindsAndyHardy's suggestion. This isn't hosted on a site, but uploaded from my computer. I'm previewing the post.
Okay, I previewed the post and in the preview I clicked the thumbnail and copied the URL of the expanded image, which I will now use.
Yes! The full image appeared in the preview. Now I can delete my thumbnail and hit "Submit," and in the future that's what I'll do... but for the sake of this example I'll post both the full pic AND the thumbnail, in case it helps anyone who wants to examine this (I doubt that it will, but what the heck).
