There are loads of exemples of what I assumed are CF users complaining about a performer's (perceived) sexuality in the replies to the promo TT feeds, not to mention some horrific comments on the updates on the promo stills released to the blogs (and I do not mean just the performers' physical traits). So when I read those comments I wonder if the people making them are homophobic, even if it is strange to make them about gay pronography.

I think that maybe the essential promise on the homepage of the CF brand of "mostly straight" performers is something they feel they are bound to and cannot shake off, unlike SC which to me had the same promise, when I first heard of them back in 2006.

But SC has been able (or willing?) to transition relatively unscathed, especially in 2012, when newbies are now being presented as gay, even in the write-ups - not just the video interviews - and comments have been mostly unanimous praise, even on the blogs.

Is it because SC's talent is perceived as not having decreased in "quality" this year? Is it because SC is not as reliant on social media, so they did not try to punch up their fangirl following when promoting the brand (I really got tired of the PAs when they had user feedback read "on the air" and strangely it was only the ones coming from female fans that were singled out for praise and male feedback was usually ridiculed by the team. Maybe it's a thing of the past or I just listened to the wrong ones)?

Or is it because SC's management has defined and implemented strategy to clearly sever from past marketing promises? Or is it because younger consumers of gay pron (which I assumer the main volume of fresh "new" users come from) do not perceive the "shame" in consuming that type of entertainement?

I always surmised that the "vagely homophobic" write-ups and handling of out models by CF were a 'subtle' way that their marketing had to adress the inate "self hate" (for straying from the hetero norm) that gay pron consumers have : but maybe now those are a thing of the past that the old guard at CF management (like those that former CF disgruntled Excelsior employee complained about) cannot let go of, perhaps mistakenly?
