Went to day 1 of Heineken Open in Auckland, now back home. Got an autograph from Thomaz Bellucci. He seemed very nice, smiling for everybody even though the line for autographs was quite big. I said "best of luck for the rest of the tournament" and he said "thank you very much" (very quickly, you know how the Latin players do ). He was taking pictures with people too, but as soon as it was my turn I got told by a tournament staff 'no more pictures' .

It was an extremely windy day all day. Players' games were very affected by it. It would've been nice to see their games in more neutral conditions, but it was still fun .

Word. Nando's looking better body-wise than ever. But his mind never changes, so it's doubtful his results will. Started his official 2013 campaign with an opening straight-sets exit to Denis Istomin in Sydney. I admit I felt a bit of anticipation after he won Hopman Cup, like maybe he'd get a boost from that or something , but that was quickly stamped out.

Also, about Dimitrov it's kind of good he's slowly building his results. Started making semis of tourneys last year, a final this year - a gradual progression. A miraculous big run can be overwhelming and do more harm than good to some.

Ok don't abandon us...if I remember correctly I stated in the original "sexy tennis star" thread that there was a threat this player (talking about Murray here of couse) was in danger of eventually becoming 1 of the top players of the world...if that happened we would be in danger of being overwhelmed with his exposure even though IMHO he is not 1 of the sexiest players in the world. He is the main reason I did not think continuing the original title was in every 1s best interest here. @ this time I'm starting 2 realize that he may soon become top 2 in the world if not the eventual #1. Having said that maybe some 1 will b nice enough 2 start a thread 4 him (even if they don't love him) just 2 ease the amount of exposure he has on this thread.

Here is another player who I do not think is all that sexy but it would appear that he will b an upcoming staple 2 this thread because he loves 2 show off the goods 4 the cameras.

The AO draw is out and it's interesting. There's lots of 1R matches that I don't want to be happening but at the same time are interesting .

Harrison-Giraldo (I don't want either to exit R1 )
Verdasco-Goffin (I wanted Nando to draw a complete scrub so he'd have a chance to win a round )
Ferrer-Rochus (Poor Oli...I like his game a lot and his ranking is really suffering having already been low-ranked and now failing to defend his Auckland final, but Ferrer will crush him )
Benneteau-Dimitrov (I like Benny too, but I want Grisha to do well and I'm worried. Quite a 50/50 chance IMO)
Haase-Murray (bad draw for Robin. I remember how he played VS Roddick a couple of years ago and have liked him ever since. Not to mention Rafa at Wimbledon that year).
Federer-Paire (super-handsome Frenchman has had a good AO warmup. Bad draw for him).

Oh well, it's not all bad .

as for murray - sometimes i'm like yeah i would bang him, but then he just looks so disgusting its quite weird and only happens with him, not anyone else. like his teeth? ew atm he does not look appealing but I think he will come round again. But yes I do agree he probably will continue to get higher up the ranks given nadal's inury and who knows maybe rogey will retire in the next couple of years.
