The family bought me season 1 on DVD for Christmas.

Yes, it's very good, if you like Medieval Kings and Queens and battles and sex and intrigue, with spooky overtones.
I guess it's technically fantasy.

A fair amount of blood and naked ladies and the occasional bare butt of a man just to keep it graphically intense.

I could be prepared to take an interest if there is naked man flesh, and it doesn't have to be full-frontal Seriously though, it would have to have a good storyline, good acting and good dialogue for me to watch it.

Lots of hairy faced bundled up manly men up north.

Great story and acting.

You could check the plot out by reading the first book of the 5 published in the "A Story of Ice and Fire" series by George R R Martin.

Well, obviously I'll be skipping the books and just go straight to watching episode 5

Finding the time (and concentration) to read the books is a problem, but you never know. If I ever see them around and they are reasonably priced I'll give them a go. It'd be a lot easier for me to watch the programme instead, but again finding the time is a problem. I don't watch as much tv as I used to. What I do watch is programmes I've recorded and by the time I've got around to watching those there isn't much time left to watch anything else or I'm too tired.

Donnie, what's a library? Seriously though, it'd be more realistic to buy the book(s) as it would leave me with the opportunity to read at my own pace, whereas borrowing from the library would mean having to read it within a short time frame. It is do-able, but unlikely at present.

I was sort of ambivalent about who won, but I was marginally favouring Baltimore - the Ravens.

I got to work and found out I did garner a modest return on my investment - I had "touching quarters" one quarter, so I $25 - for my $20 investment - $5 on $20 isn't too bad a return for a week, lol.

Yeah, work pool - buy squares blind, then they draw numbers (0 through 9) for AFC and for NFC (the two conferences in the National Football League).
We have payouts for the score at each quarter, and anyone who has a "corner" square touching the quarter ending scores gets $25.
Squares are $10 apiece. I bought two.
So, I spent $20 and got $25 back.
