On October 18, Mute will release Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, the new double album from electronic haze-pop artist Anthony Gonzalez, known to everyone as M83. The LP will feature contributions from Zola Jesus, Medicine's Brad Laner, Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Beck, Nine Inch Nails), and Saturdays=Youth collaborator Morgan Kibby.

Talking about the album in a press release, Gonzalez cites the Smashing Pumpkins' super-grandiose 1995 double album Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness as a key influence: "I saw when I was a teenager that I could dig into [the album]. It was like a treasure. If I were a teenager nowadays, I would try to find something as creative as this album. They had so much to say in their songs."

It's so great to see some fellow M83 fans on the board here! I love, love, love the group and have been meaning to see them perform live for quite some time, so seeing that they're touring in the next couple of months and stopping in New York is such a thrill.

M83 has announced a single version of the album's third track, "Reunion", out on May 8 through Mute. Along with the original, the EP will include six remixes (find Mylo's take below).

M83's Anthony Gonzalez has scored the upcoming Tom Cruise-starring sci-fi film Oblivion. "StarWaves", is the first piece available.

Gonzalez collaborated with Joseph Trapanese on the soundtrack; Trapanese previously collaborated with Daft Punk on the soundtrack to Tron: Legacy. M83 recorded a new track for the film as well, featuring the Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør.

Oblivion is out April 19 with its soundtrack arriving April 9 via Back Lot Records.
