Hey guys...So, it's been a couple of months since I wrote my last story here on JUB. A couple of you guys liked it...so I figured I'd try another, and see what you guys think of it. I'm not exactly sure how long this one will be...but I'll have to split it into at least four or five posts maybe. Unlike my last story--this one is complete fiction.
Here's Part One
SLEEPING WITH THE COMPANY VP
Wow, how common is it for someone to completely lose their mind at such a young age? I thought as I stepped off of the train at Penn Station.
I had just arrived in New York City, after graduating from a not-so-well-known university down south. I am a drama major, and of course, being one of those starry-eyed young men with big dreams...I decided to move to NYC to pursue an acting career immediately after finishing college. My mother had warned me against making such a decision, but I assured her that I would succeed in the big city, and that my talent would get me places. She had raised me as a single parent since my 'dad' walked out on us when I was only three years old. I knew my mother would be very worried about her only child trying to survive with little more than 5,000 dollars (my savings) in a place like New York, but I was determined to show her what I could do with myself here. Yes, Tyler Stanton (that's me) would be a movie star soon enough!
As I emerged onto the New York streets from the depths of Penn Station with two suitcases in hand, I questioned my sanity again about making such a decision. I shot occasional glances at the men and women who rushed past me, seeming to be very focused on their destinations and what business they had to take care of. It was just then that I remembered how often one can spot well-dressed businessmen in the streets of New York on a daily basis. I have a major fetish for men in business attire, suits, and such, so naturally I was like a kid in a candy store. I knew that I was destined to have a lot of 'fun' in the next couple of weeks.
When checking into my hotel on 30th street near Fifth Avenue, I learned that I had enough money to hold me over for at least twenty to thirty days. The hotel clerk had been very helpful with getting me a deal on the room when she learned that I would be staying for an extended period of time. So far, everything was going well for me. I knew that my next plan of action would be securing a temporary job until I could start going out for auditions and casting calls. So after getting checked in and unpacking in my room, I opened my laptop, connected to wireless, and began to look for temp positions in the city. I only had experience in fast food, but I was determined to find something a bit more 'professional' here. With all of the businesses here, I knew there would be more than enough options for me.
One thing I love about being in NYC is the diversity. I was born and raised in Tennessee, and there are some parts of that state where you would be hard pressed to find more than two to three black families in an entire county. My mother and I, with my cousins, were the only blacks in the town I am from. So, when I got to New York, my eyes were all over the place as I saw such a wide mix and variety of people. I couldn't wait to get out and meet new people, make new friends, mingle, and make a name for myself here. That being said, I didn't meet anyone at all during my first couple of weeks there...not even for hookups.
Two weeks after I had been searching tirelessly for a job, I finally got a call back from a law firm over on Madison Avenue that was looking for a temporary receptionist. I was a bit apprehensive about going for the interview, because I know that even in this day and age, people still like to reserve those sort of positions for women. I decided to try my luck anyway. So, one Thursday morning in late May, I put on my best suit and walked myself over to Madison. The firm was located in a very beautiful, imposing skyscraper that sat a few blocks north of the MetLife building. I had my resume in hand and confidence on my face. I knew I just had to land this position. It was my first callback, and I was running out of money--so something HAD to happen.
After making my way up to the 22nd floor, I stepped off the elevator into a nice lobby with a set of glass double doors at the far side of the room. Signage on the door read: Law Firm of Stephenson, Jones, and Merrill
I took a deep breath and walked into the office.
Inside was another lobby, somewhat smaller, and very high-end. The middle-aged clerk behind the desk greeted me, and I told her that I was there to interview for the receptionist position. Susan was the woman's name, and she made me feel very comfortable and at home as I took a seat and began flipping through a magazine.
Mr. Stanton...Mr. Jones will be interviewing you, and he'll be with you in just a moment. It's actually MY position you'll be interviewing for, Susan said with a smile. I'm going to be moving away to Tokyo for a couple of months, my husband just got assigned to a project there, she said with pride.
I smiled at her and nodded.
After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, an extremely handsome white gentleman made his way out of one of the offices into the lobby. He was rather tall, 6'4 or so, had an average build, dark hair, and piercing blue eyes. I guessed he was about 40 or so. He had a very strong face and when he smiled at me as he approached...I could have came in my pants right there. He was fucking gorgeous.
Oh my God...is this who is about to interview me? I thought.
Sure enough, the man walked over to me and extended his hand.
Mr. Stanton, hello...I'm David Jones. I'm Senior Partner here and I'll be interviewing you today.
I extended my hand and shook his hand, while noticing that he was wearing a wedding ring. I slowly raised myself from the seat, smiled at Susan...and followed Mr. Jones as he led me down a short hallway into a conference room. As I followed him, I carefully looked him up and down, admiring his dress and the way he carried himself in general. So stately, business-like and handsome. I also noticed the other two partners seated behind their desks in their offices--both of whom looked attractive from what I could see.
I said a silent prayer as I took a seat in the conference room across from Mr. Jones...
Please let me get this job.
That's the end of Part One. What do you guys think? Boring? Interesting? Let me know.
It'll get better and the x-rated stuff will come. Stay tuned.
