JUB Bug?

I had to re-register in order to get to post this thread. I have tried to post a number of times, but since one week have been unable: Each time I write something, I get the message that I have inadequate characters on the message and that I must write more than 10 spaces. I have tried to contact Corny via yahoo im, but there is a problem connecting to him using the IM function on his profile - it sends me to a page telling me I haven't got adobe flash 9 or later - I have the latest version! I tried PMing, Corny and TriBI and a couple of others to no avail. I constantly get the message that I need more than 10 characters to post. So, hopefully it is only my Sam Blum account that is affected and not a whole heap of other guys too! At any rate, could you let me know how you go with correcting this apparent bug please? Okay, and further to that, I just tried to watch a Youtube post in HOt Topics, and even though I was just watching Corny's post 30 mins ago with no problems, and had subsequently visited Youtbe seperately to JUB with no problems, NOW I can't watch Youtube posts even as Notplan on JUB, nor even when I visit Youtube from JUB, with the message on my screen as I have to update my Flashplayer... It is as updated as it can get. Could anyone who understands a pattern here (other than that I have no idea what's happening over and over again) bring me up to speed please? Sam Blum

I'm not sure, but it could be a browser problem if you've already got your adobe flash updated. Try clearing the cache first and see.

As for Tribi and Corny, they're in different parts of the world, and may not be online at the moment. They or Opinterph will be able to help once they log in. Sorry to hear you're having troubles.

Everything seems to be fine with the "Sam Blum" account. The "10 characters" message could be a JavaScript issue on your side .. but paired with this Adobe Flash upgrade message, it seems as if there could be some malware on your computer involved.

If you have another browser installed, check if the problem persists. Try google chrome, as most malware doesn't target it yet. If you don't have any problems there, but the above mentioned problems do persist with the old browser (IE?), especially on other websites, too - please check your computer for malware.

Sam - you posted this just before midnight my time - and I had been offline for quite some time before that. Nevertheless, I have no PM from either account. I can't add anything to what Corny said (I am totally 'non geek' anyway) but I hope you manage to get this fixed OK.

I have Trend's best protocol and Macafee as well as the Windows security and Trend scans my computer daily to check for anything wrong - nothing shows up. Also, this is the only place I have a problem. I saved a screen pic to illustrate the problem, but find I can't insert the picture here even though it's quite small. At any rate, the window that I am NOW typing in is white, surrounded by pale grey, and the font is regularly fairly small. When I try to post as Sam Blum now, the entire window one writes in is grey, and the font enormous. It seems illogical that this would be a problem at my end alone, when I have no difficulty posting as Notplan, and when there is no difficulty with other sites.

I have down-loaded Google Chrome and although I have used it when I, for example, click on a hyperlink, I'm not sure how to make my home internet explorer page automatically use Google Chrome. I have gone through their settings, but can't find how to do this. Also, the Chrome page has none of my favourites on it, and info on the net is sparse to say the least, regarding these points.

you can care about that later .. what is interesting now is if you can post as sam with chrome.

It is actually quite logical that this is a problem on your end, since all the things that you describe are managed by the browser.

Thanks Corny! This window has the normal appearance I would expect, so I imagine it should post without problems. Again, thank you. Now I shall just sort out how to make Chrome my homepage and how to transfer my favorites across - if these things are possible.

As I suspected, it's a browser problem. If you want to continue using firefox, you need a least a new profile, maybe better a fresh install.
