I've noticed Imageshack don't let you hot-link now, or you have to register or some shit.

Starred out links may be that the site does not want JUB users linking from their site or wasting their bandwidth. It is also very possible that those sites have in the past been spamming JUB to latch on our popularity to boost their sales. That then is a violation of the posting rules for these forums and services...
