Guestbook feature would be nice

Ok so I've been a pain to some on the site so time to make a constructive contribution

Why not have a questbook function where people can sign each others' guestbooks with either a "drop-down" comment ("You are handsome" etc) or one that can texted in.
Let's face it - ego isn't unimportant on JUB and this would (for those who have pics) give them a bit of a boost for OTHERS to see who signed their guestbook as well. That's what social networking is all about. It's certainly not about status or rank.

It's personal! In an otherwise unyieldingly anonymous site which can get rather tedious, a user Guestbook provide a bit of cross-interaction too in that it does provide interaction. Currently other more static devices such as avatars/sigs/blogs (which no one reads) are used to attempt to create persona on JUB. Limited effect since anyone can copy an avatar. It's not really personal as much as a guestbook. Or as update capable. Change is essential and users thirst for it. Look at facebook!

Further, the guestbook could be activated or de-activated from the user profile. Also comments back and forth could be enabled or not on the guestbook to serve as status updates.

No, not really, but it's at least close. You have a good idea, but I don't know how hard it would be to implement what you described; probably fairly difficult, especially when we have a system that's similar.

Well it's just a suggestion to make the community concept there more organized. But while we are talking about forum comments there are many who don't even know they exist. I know it took me a while to find out.

I agree. Lots of people have been on the mods (poor Corny especially ) to have some sort of notification that pops up when you get a new one. I don't know if it'll ever happen, but it sure would be nice.

But a conversion to a full featured guestbook would be an enhancement especially if it could be linked to the Blogs (which are actually more visible in a way). Maybe something as simple as a "My Stuff" link on the profile. The Private Messages link takes you ther indirectly but maybe this link could also point to guestbook entries so you get a more compact view too of what's new for you.
