Sadly, some things never change.
The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin,
~Jules WInnfield - Pulp Fiction
appropriate for today ..........
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country." John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961
This came to mind today.
It makes me cry every time I hear it.
Norah and I grew up just a few miles from each other. Her High School kicked my High School's ass during our "Senior Night" Friday Night Football Game.
I hear that she lives in Brooklyn, NY now, or somewhere there about.
Every time she appears at a venue in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I make sure that I have tickets.![]()

So this song is for my fellow Moderators!
To quote Texas Governor, and Former 2012 GOP Candidate Rick Perry Merry Christmas "mofos."

I used to dislike Bonjovi - not intensely - but didn't care for his music or schtick
I love him now - great entertainer - great causes - and I dig his music
"who says you can't go home"
he did it with bruce springsteen at the hurricane sandy concert recently - really good
My 2nd private dedication goes out to a squid in Overland Park:
For the record, I love Steve Goodman.![]()

Reminded of "Ghosts of Christmas Past" this weekend.
Tight blue jeans, a night out of dancing, then a make out session at his place in front of a roaring fire with some Sade playing in the background.
Of course most stories, like movies and romance novels, never tell the story of what things were like weeks, months, or even years later.![]()

A Blessed Christmas to Everyone.
This is one of my favorite Christmas hymns.
"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country." John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961
Between continued gun violence in this country and war in Syria, the Congo and other places, I thought this an appropriate song that still resonates:
Another version of Jack's favorite, with words:
"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "![]()
--Jonathan Rauch, Salon Magazine, March 13, 2000
*the number is now forty
One of my favorites is "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" done in Hebrew, but I can't find a version online.
Anyone?
