In spirit of Lefty I had to listen to this....

And finally since I am passing out long distance dedications and I am delving into Paul Simon here is one for JustBelieve18
The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin,
~Jules WInnfield - Pulp Fiction
Boyfriend sent me this song and I've really like it, probably, because it came from him.
"Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think.'' - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I've been addicted to this song for the past 3-4 days...
This song is actually based off the ee cummings poem "the boys i mean are not refined". Course said song is far less raunchy than the actual poem...
the boys i mean are not refined
they go with girls who buck and bite
they do not give a fuck for luck
they hump them thirteen times a night
one hangs a hat upon her tit
one carves a cross on her behind
they do not give a shit for wit
the boys i mean are not refined
they come with girls who bite and buck
who cannot read and cannot write
who laugh like they would fall apart
and masturbate with dynamite
the boys i mean are not refined
they cannot chat of that and this
they do not give a fart for art
they kill like you would take a piss
they speak whatever's on their mind
they do whatever's in their pants
the boys i mean are not refined
they shake the mountains when they dance
Really?
Without any consideration toward the lyrics?
The romance is what he's trying to communicate through music.I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayin' to a god that I don't believe in
Cos I got time while she got freedom
Cos when a heart breaks no it don't break even
Her best days will be some of my worst
She finally met a man that's gonna put her first
While I'm wide awake she's no trouble sleeping
Cos when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven... even... no
What am I supposed to do when the best part of me was always you,
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up that you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces
They say bad things happen for a reason
But no wise words gonna stop the bleeding
Cos she's moved on while I'm still grieving
And when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven even... no
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/t/t...breakeven.html ]
What am I gonna to do when the best part of me was always you,
And what am I supposed to say when I'm all choked up that you're ok
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces, yeah,
I'm falling to pieces
(One still in love while the other ones leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
(Cos when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven)
Oh you got his heart and my heart and none of the pain
You took your suitcase, I took the blame.
Now I'm try'na make sense of what little remains ooh
Cos you left me with no love and no love to my name.
I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing
Just prayin' to a god that I don't believe in
Cos I got time while she got freedom
Cos when a heart breaks no it don't break
No it don't break
No it don't break even no
What am I gonna do when the best part of me was always you and
What am I suppose to say when I'm all choked up that you're ok
(Oh glad your okay now)
I'm falling to pieces yeah
(Oh I'm glad your okay)
I'm falling to pieces yeah
(One still in love while the other ones leaving)
I'm falling to pieces
(Cos when a heart breaks no it don't breakeven)
Oh it don't break even no
Oh it don't break even no
Oh it don't break even no

Some say life will beat you down
Break your heart, steal your crown
So i started out
From God knows where
I guess i'll know when I get there

Hey now, hey now
don't dream it's over
Never regret anything, because in that moment it's exactly what you wanted.![]()
Who knew the other side of you?
Who knew what others died to prove?
Too true to say goodbye to you
Too true, too sad sad sad
The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin,

Hey
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead mans touch
Wisper on a scream
Doesnt't't change a thing
Don't bring you back
Blue on black
Oh yeah, blue on black
Never regret anything, because in that moment it's exactly what you wanted.![]()

@ Centex you have good taste in music.
This (unofficial) video is hilarious. Keep watching to see why, lol. Hope it wasn't posted before.
This video is also a favorite. CE&P in 30 years?
^ Proving that youth, like love is wasted on the wrong people.
I love All American Rejects, and like this song as much for its video as I do the lyrics:
Never regret anything, because in that moment it's exactly what you wanted.![]()
REALLY did no one post this? Well I can't tell since about half the links are in [ame] and not clickable to me but I'm doing it anyway.
We tend to avoid "what are you listening to now" on this specific music thread as there are quite a few others on here for that purpose.
@Centex. I could actually play "It ends Tonight" on the piano. It was amusing because the sheet music I initially got for it was downright dreadful. I'm guessing it was an aural transcription of it. Still that album basically defined my sophomore year in college.
Never regret anything, because in that moment it's exactly what you wanted.![]()
ugh. There are far better electronic musicians out there than David Guetta. One of the oldies but goodies...
I can read music but I cannot aurally transcribe music well. I made a post about this a while back in the confession thread about a piece of music I attempted to learn by ear and failed miserably because the song changes to 8 different keys.
^ i love you like a fat kid loves cake my friend, and I don't doubt that you are correct that there are BETTER musicians out there.
But that song filled my heart, and made want to get naked down to my 501's, and "bump and grind" with some "horse tranquilized" gym bunny; X-Tacey whore, then take him home and fuck the shit out of him just before I call him a cab!
<insert Barbara singing "Memories" here>
But there is one song, and I'm pretty sure that I've already shared it in this thread, that changed everything.
The one guy in my life that I fell head over heels in love with, moved heaven and earth to be with, turned out to be the guy who either didn't love me as much, or was to afraid to claim it.
For all "intent and purposes" my life was over when it ended.
Until...one afternoon, this song saved my life:

Since the election is over, I thought I'd post this video of the great Kiri Te Kanawa singing the aria "Sola, Perduta, Abbondonata" from the Puccini Opera "Manon Lescuat," in honor of Mitt Romney:
P.S. Sola, Perduta, Abbondonata is Italian for "Alone, Lost and Abandoned."
Well... I was supposed to be seeing Mozz in concert tonight... but being that his tour was postponed... I am instead having a private concert. This is my favorite song from his last album... it is also the perfect song to send a friend with a sardonic sense of humour the day after his birthday...
My favorite line: "All of the gifts that they gave...can't compare in any way... to the love I am now... giving to you... right here, right now... on the floor."
Yes, please...![]()
^ sorry u missed your guysomething tells me you'll see him again .......... and again ......... and again
death cab filled many a void for me a while back - here's one of their songs i particularly like

"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country." John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961
I have been trying for weeks to post a video of this new Christmas song. Then I figured I needed to just post a link to it.

Quite apropos as Chance started this thread and with the current bans in place....
You never enjoy your life
Livin' inside the box
You're so afraid of taking chances
How are you going to reach the top?
Rules and regulations
Force you to play it safe
Get rid of all the hesitation
It's time for you to seize the day

Thanks Jack, I haven't heard the Somewhere one.
Somehow this sounded a lot more hardcore when I was stoned.

You and I know that I've got the eye liner. I was going to ask where I could get one of those shirts, but instead I'd rather know where to get a hot back up singer.![]()

I remember that my Grandma had one of those "upright record players."
She had every Patsy Cline song on 45.
I had to load that record player each time the record ran out, while she was rubbing red lipstick on her cheeks for rouge on a Saturday Night, on her way out to go "honky tonkin."
A Charmed Life to be sure!
Which reminds me of another one of my Favorite Bands, Third Eye Blind:
I learned how to write, and became a Gay Serial Dater!I'm packed and I'm holding
I'm smiling, she's living
She's golden, she lives for me
She says she lives for me ovation, she got her own motivation
She comes 'round and she goes down on me
And I make her smile
It's like a drug for you
Do ever what you want to do
Coming over you
Keep on smiling, what we go through
One stop to the rhythm that divides you
And I speak to you like the chorus to the verse
Chop another line like a coda with a curse
Come on like a freak show takes the stage
We give them the games we play
She said
"I want something else
To get me through this
Semi-charmed kind of life
Baby, baby
I want something else
I'm not listening when you say
Goodbye..."
Doot (x24)
The sky was gold, it was rose
I was taking sips of it through my nose
And I wish I could get back there
Some place back there
Smiling in the pictures you would take
Doing crystal meth
Will lift you up until you break
It won't stop, I won't come down
I keep stock
With a tick tock rhythm
A bump for the drop
And then I bumped up
I took the hit that I was given
Then I bumped again
Then I bumped again, she said
How do I get back there to
The place where I fell asleep inside you
How do I get myself back to
The place where you said
"I want something else
To get me through this
Semi-charmed kind of life
Baby, baby
I want something else
I'm not listening when you say
Goodbye..."
I believe in the sand beneath my toes
The beach gives a feeling
An earthy feeling
I believe in the faith that grows
And the four right chords could make me cry
When I'm with you I feel like I could die
And that would be all right
All right
And when the plane came in
She said she was crashing
The velvet it rips
In the city we're tripped
On the urge to feel alive
But now I'm struggling to survive
Those days you were wearing
That velvet dress
You're the priestess, I must confess
Those little red panties
They pass the test
Slides up around the belly
Face down on the matress
One, and you hold me
And we're broken
Still it's all that I want to do
Just a little now
I feel myself heavy on the ground
I'm scared I'm not coming down
No no
And I won't run for my life
She's got her jaws just locked now in a smile
But nothing is all right
All right
I want something else
To get me through this
Life...baby, baby
I want something else
Not listening when you say
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye...
Doo (x24)
The sky was gold, it was rose
I was taking sips of it through my nose
And I wish I could get back there
Some place back there
In the place we used to sta-a-a-a-rt

The more I hear the more I love. Zac Brown. Toes.
If you watch, the fiddle player strums his fiddle more.
No Hurry
This fiddler could fiddle with me ANYTIME!
