Too much climax for one season? At least there's something to look forward to.

I sure hope season 4 recounts the events of BOTH books 4 and 5 simultaneously, otherwise we can expect a few yawns.

And though I'm leary of seeming to pass early judgement a second time on casting choices, I'll at least say I hate Daario's Harlequin Romance look. Fabio-yuck. But pictures of Ed Skrein, his actor, are appealing.
Season 4 will cover the second half of Storm of Swords, but I wouldn't be shocked if it delved into the early parts of Feast of Crows and Dance with Dragons that chronologically take place at the same time.

Such an amazing season. I loved it. Loved it all. Really happy with Daenerys' development as a character. She's such a powerhouse.

Love love love Arya. She's wonderful and the developments with Bran are great also.

Give me a break cos I haven't had one since 2002. That shit is still on?

Is Falling Skies really all that? I could't get into it initially.

    ^that explains it.

True Blood was cancelled a couple years ago, I am just really behind the times.....

Falling Skies is proving to be a little more interesting this season.

Beats watching some boring 'reality' show.

Seriously, I stopped watching it some time last season. Just too much nonsense.

I suppose I can start watching Breaking Bad. I always meant to do that.

I think everyone who hadn't read the books said WTF during Season 3 Episode 9. I knew what was gonna happen, and even then I jumped out of seat when it all unraveled. '

Such an amazing series. Cannot wait for the next season.

Yeah, it was sad and amazing at the same time.

It's risky to kill off people who the audience are attached to, but doing so invokes so much emotion even though it's just a TV show. I don't think I've ever felt what I felt just from watching a show. It's sad, but I'm glad it happened!

Me too. I didn't read the books, so I had no idea it was coming. In hindsight, I should have with all the foreshadowing. I'm gonna miss Robb and Catelyn

I've been watching reaction videos to validate that my reaction was normal haha. Here's my favorite one! And it represents my own reaction well.

Re: A song of ice and fire: HBO's Game of Thrones

A quick question for people who have read the books, if anyone will be so kind as to answer it:

Do the books correspond with the show? Not in terms of the content really, well kind of. More so continuity I guess. So did season 3 end where the third book ended? Will season 4 start where the fourth book starts?

I'm asking because I have a promo code for a free audio book (if anyone else is interested, let me know. You can get a free audiobook too). GoT came to mind. I haven't read the first 3 books, but I watched the all seasons of the TV show. So if I start A Feast for Crows, will there be a problem with continuity? Will I be off track?

    YES! ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Season 3 ends about 2/3rds through A Storm of Swords. The other "RW" [Royal Wedding] is the actual climax of book 3. Shockingly, the Red Wedding is NOT the climax of A Storm of Swords.

Dave & Dan even begged HBO to make this past season a 12-13 episode one to cover the entire book but they said no.

Ooh okay, thank you! So I guess I'll be getting A Storm of Swords!

I was about to get the fourth book, but I read the synopsis for it and it kind of opened with, "With the -insert event from 3rd book here-..." which DEFINITELY did not happen in season 3. So I essentially read a HUGE spoiler, but oh well.

Thank you again! 47 hours of an audio book...haha.

Actually, there's enough left to fill an entire ten episode season. Beside the other wedding, there's the Dorne delegation, the Tyrion stuff and the two major battles at the Wall. It's definitely a full season's worth of material, 2-3 eps could never have covered it. Book 3 is the densest in the series, plot wise.

I'm early in season 3, slowly trying to bring myself up to speed with this show. I still have a difficult time following the story. There are just too many characters and parallel plots. Half the characters I couldn't even tell you their name. The show seems to insist that viewers have read the books in order to follow the show. But it is definitely entertaining.

Been slowly catching up with the series. Just saw ep 3-09 tonight and the "red wedding", which I had zero knowledge of prior (I'm so glad I have not been reading this thread). I'm still floored. Sad. Angry. Unnerved. Probably the most memorable scene I have watched in a television show. I know I am late to the party, just thought I'd share. Now I am going back to grieving. . .

    Tyrion? Yes.

Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
He's still alive at the end of book 5. GRRM has said that Tyrion is his favorite character so it's extremely unlikely he'll die.

Also, the Red Wedding could be seen coming from miles away in the TV show if you actually followed the story. It still was dramatic but not unexpected. The book is far more subtle about it until the actual event.

You just get the sense even without spoilers that things are going to be dark and bloody this season. As much as I want things to happy happy for dragon girl, you get a sense she has some misery coming her way. I like the bisexuality of the Prince, but I am not warming to him yet.

The prince is a dick so far. Yes, Daany is feeling the growth and testiness of her dragons, especially the big one. They are Dragons after all. Circe' continues to be all cunt, as does the father, and there are not enough horrible words to describe Joffrey. Jon Snow seems to have healed nicely from all those arrows stuck in him, and Arya, wicked smile girl. Feeling real good, were you?

I agree that the Red Wedding was far more horrible and bloody than I could have imagined coming since I have not read the books. I think from last season you could skip the spoiler boxes. I would hope everyone is caught up now and ready to bathe in brilliance.

In the meantime one of my fellow Atkolers has founded a spot on the Intenet for Atkolers to gather to touch base. There is also my Group here at JUB. Jon Snow seems to have healed nicely from all those arrows stuck in him, and Arya, wicked smile girl. Feeling real good, were you?
All Martels [the rulers of Dorne] are dicks. They have been making fun of them since season 1. Why do you think the rest of the Houses in Westeros exiled them to the desert?

I won't spoil but you are starting to see these "hints"/foreshadowing again in the show. That whole scene with Dany and the types of flowers is a latent foreshadow of her ability to rule. Arya questioning Sandor's moral code is another foreshadow. Mind you, Price Oberyn even said that the Hound's brother, the Mountain aka Gregor Clegane, killed his sister and has been terrorizing the countryside killing other innocents.

This is why I love this show because they truly do compact everything and just remember that no scene is filler outside of exposition or foreshadowing. Ugh this Battle at the Wall exposition is gonna drag on forever!

You may chalk it up as spoilers but "Game of Thrones" is not something to be 'casually' watched. If you are doing such, well, you do so at your own stupidity.

^ It's not hard to attach spoiler tags.

    But go for it, Max.

I don't think the Price is a dick. He's hot as hell!

I probably was too critical about the Prince. Also when I thought about it some more, I concluded he looks like Burt Reynolds.

I didn't really expect the royal wedding to happen so early in the season, but all the trailers hint to it being episode 2, this weekend. Fans of the show should be pleased.

Is it just me or is the show way behind on events between Dany and Jorah? Also I'm not sure why there's a new Daario, but he might as well be a different character entirely.
