I think the GQ Madonna entry above is more insulting to Katy, Kesha and the 800 female artists than Madonna.
As for Madonna, well, does she even fucking care about GQ? Good or bad, they are still talking about M.

A League Of Their Own is on TV right now. Such a great movie and Madonna was fantastic in it.
"This Used To Be My Playground" is my favorite of M.'s ballads. It's wistful, sweeping, nostalgic, and simply gorgeous.
^ I don't have a blu-ray player yet, but I may have to get one just for the MDNA concert.![]()
This is for "Elton" who's a regular here on the Madonna thread.

Wow. Madonna beat out the Boss! Comfortably at that!
No idea who Roger Walters is.
Lady Gaga, 6th place. Surprising actually. I thought she'd be higher up.
Van Halen still tours?
Pretty sure that's supposed to be Roger Waters, who was part of Pink Floyd.
FanofFiction are you so out of touch that you actually posted that response. It sure gives no credibility to anything you post that's music related.
Roger Walters is the leader of Pink Floyd.
Madonna is high because of her catalog and ticket prices.
Anywho, Lady Gaga being low surprised me. Her tickets have rocketed in price from her other tour. Nosebleed shit tickets for the ACC in February here in Toronto start at an even $50.00. I can buy two Bon Jovi tickets for the price of one Lady Gaga ticket. Crazy.

Madonna is the queen.
I guess I apologize for not knowing a guy from a band I never really enjoyed? Not really no.
She needs to add more Canadian dates. She needs to come to Atlantic Canada. She'd sell out here too, so it wouldn't be like she's taking a loss by coming here. One big show in Moncton or Halifax would do it. Everyone from the region would go. Moncton has hosted some huge artists! Surely Madonna could at least consider it...
I'll see her live one day.
whats the total gross of this tour? Billboard listed the gross to cover 72 out of the 80 plus at 230 M
Huntneo "reviews" American Life.
God love you, man. I love that you loved American Life. For me, it just wasn't one of her better albums. But it did have a few great tracks. Your review was great though. I love your insight.
^ thanks, pal! I'm glad you liked it.I love connecting with other fans through my opinion(s), and always hope you guys hear something that you agree with while I'm rambling.
There was a guy that used to review Madonna music videos on youtube. This would have been three years ago or more. He was pretty spot on with my opinions. But listening to other people ramble on about Madonna the way I do is so enlightening. If you ever decide to dissect her videos or more albums, I'd love to hear.
I am fascinated to see someone who unabashedly cares for that song, lol! I could never particularly stand "This Used To Be My Playground". She looks beautiful in the video no question (love the lighting and soft focus) but I find the song pretty threadbare - like there's not much musical "meat" there; that plodding bassline and gutless "soft-rock ballad" drums don't help it out much, and by the time we hit the 3 minute mark in your link with that string section solo thing (which sounds like it belongs in an entirely different track) I'm always shaking my head like "Oh my god, is this ever bad!", and it further jumps the shark with the "Used to beeeeeeee..." background vocals at 3:30. So I was intrigued to see you describe the elements that you liked about it. It also, to me, hasn't aged very well as a track - it really sounds locked into its era with that gentle synth-piano/keyboard thing which dominates its sound.
Thinking about "classic" Madonna ballads, give me the unabashed, heart-on-sleeve "Crazy For You" over "This Used To Be My Playground" any day! How could you not love it? With those retro 80s power-drums, straight-ahead bass line and accessorized in the arrangement/production with that oboe (Madonna's own suggestion) and often nonsensical backing vocals ("Bop, bop, bop, bop, ahhhh-ahhh") that seem to reflect back to older girl-group or Motown background vocal lines, I thought everything came together for that track. It's interesting to me that it is years older than "This Used To Be My Playground" but seems to hold up better - maybe a good melody is more timeless, and the arrangement definitely has those 80s touches (like that highly reverbed drum attack sound) but it's not overwhelmingly thick and textured like a lot of 80s songs were so the leaner production maybe helps it. Any 80s touches on it now sound retro-cool.![]()
I love both Crazy for You and This Used to be My Playground (the former more than the latter), but let's be real, THE hit Madonna ballad is Live to Tell.![]()
I prefer Take A Bow or Rain. Two of my favorites.
Seriously, "Rain" has made me cry a couple of times.
at 4:34 when the beat and the strings become more intense...just...![]()
Rain is so good! You know it! I may have also shed a tear during a listen or two.
She really thinks she's royalty or something.
I felt bad for the interviewer, I had to stop after 2 mins. lol
Yes, she does come across often as someone who thinks very highly of herself to the point of conceitedness.
Pompous too. THE QUEEN.

"...foolin' myself feels so sweet, reality looks black and white." - Everything Is Beautiful
Team Kylie!![]()
I dislike arrogance, but I've never known Madonna to be nice. She is known for being successful. And yes, Kylie Minogue comes across as way more accessible and friendly. I would hardly be surprised if she had her moments as well, though.
Has anyone seen that .gif where Mariah Carey basically pushes another woman away from her as she's taking pictures?
Hmmm... well 30 minutes into the interview and Madonna actually warmed up to the woman. I think she was being really defensive in the beginning.
Perhaps Madonna didn't like being interviewed by a younger woman whose skirt was so short you could see her underwear.
she is a bitch
and a Hypocrite. She's smokes in many of her famous pictures and Lourdes smokes too.
Never cease to find it strange
How at midnight things seem hopeless
But by dawn they've changed
I laughed. I think Madonna was just bored to death with amateurish style and questions asked by the interviewer.
She was actually still pretty back then. Now she looks absolutely horrible -- she looks like a middle-aged drag queen caricature of herself.
no surprise. most of these stars are gassed off of their fame. a lot of them forget when they were nobodies struggling to make it to where they're at. they also forget that the higher up the ladder they get, the harder they fall.
one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry![]()
I don't really think she is a bitch...I like her independent nature and I like that she says what she is feeling versus being phony.
Bad interviewer
Was there ever any doubt?
this video of Madge is hella old! like her.
Sultan, can't you see she's suffocating!![]()
"...foolin' myself feels so sweet, reality looks black and white." - Everything Is Beautiful
I cannot @ the way she grabs the paper out of that reporters hand when she's offered it to fan herself.![]()
No, but now I want to. There have always been rumors about how Mariah is really stuck-up, like having people hold her straw for her when she drinks.
Honestly a lot of these celebrities just lose touch with reality to varying degrees when they become super famous. Also, I think they sometimes just become sick of all the attention and then act out in weird ways. It must be hard to stay grounded when everything is at your finger tips and you realize that your fame can influence and intimidate others so easily. Oh well.
She's "keeping it real". Which, as eden said, is "refreshing". Because she can get away with that shit when we couldn't.

this thread should be CLOSED!![]()
...but that being said, I do not like it when she acts "bitchy" either. Oddly enough, as much as I adore her music--I doubt I would care for her much as a person.
