2 or 3 years ago, after Madonna went on Oprah to plug her children's books, Gayle came on for a show with Oprah so Oprah could see what she and Gayle actually talk about in regards to the show every night. One of the things they talked about was Madonna. Gayle said that Madonna did seem to be a little less strident with age, but thinks Oprah should've asked her about what happened in the Truth or Dare movie. Apparently, Madonna, in the movie, is told that they're tour's hitting Chicago and that's where Oprah lives, and Madonna says, "Oprah? Yuck!" Oprah said that she didn't want to seem like some little insecure school girl asking, "When you said 'Oprah Yuck', what did you mean?" But Gayle really thought she should if she was going to be promoting her books on the show.
So that's why I said maybe Oprah will take Gayle up on her challenge this time and find out what Madonna meant by Oprah Yuck.

The first image of Madonna on Oprah!
The episode, which was shot today, will air tomorrow - Wednesday.
Our Lady looks lovely! (And matronly.)
Madonna got "very emotional" as she spoke about her plans to adopt a 13-month-old boy from Malawi.
Audience members said the pop star, who is speaking publicly for the first time since the adoption became an international controversy, became emotional when speaking with Oprah about the boy she plans to adopt from Africa. According to the audience members, Madonna believes the boy's father had a change of heart after the media go to him.
Hold your head up high Madge!!!

which is the best all-time madonna album? very hard question, as she has so many good ones.
I'd hav to say best album Erotica has so many good songs: Erotica, Deeper and Deeper, Bad Girl (Her best ballad), and Fever. Music would probably come in second, although my absolute fave madonna song is Drowned World/Substitute for Love from Ray of Light.
Madonna (1983) - Like a Virgin - Who's the Girlk Soundtrack - True Blue - Like A Prayer - I'm Breathless - Erotica - Bedtime Stories - Evita - Ray of Light - Music -American Life - Confessions
I ADORE "Bedtime Stories." But I also am in love with "Evita" and "Ray Of Light." "Music" was half good, I think and "American Life" was about the same. (I like her earlier stuff as well, but not full albums, just specific songs). And I don't really like her "Confessions" album, so I guess I'd say...
BEDTIME STORIES
"Like a Prayer" beyond a doubt!!!
"Erotica" for sure. It marked a turning point in Madonna's career where she veered away from mainstream-accessible pop and into darker, more adult, more experimental stuff. You can also tell that she's exorcising a lot of the hurt and anger from her failed marriage to Sean Penn and break-up with Warren Beatty in the songs -- a lot of great, bitter break-up songs on that album that I personally took solace in when going through my break-up with my first husband around that time.
Even though "Erotica" is now widely regarded as one of Madonna's most critically-acclaimed and underrated albums, it unfortunately got swept under the rug during all the hoopla over her "Sex" book and movie "Body of Evidence" at that time.
"Bedtime Stories" and "Ray Of Light" I would have to say run neck-and-neck as my second favorite Madonna album of all time. "Bedtime Stories" was another underrated and underappreciated album of hers.
i always like ray of light and bedtime stories
not a fan of hers but I did enjoy that ray of light album with frozen on it.
"The Immaculate Collection" - all the good songs and none of the filler
Sometimes an album needs "filler"...sometimes those greatest hits albums almost sound toooo catchy. Ray of Light had some very good "filler" (where "filler" is "non-singles").
As an complete album I'd say either Ray of Light or Confessions, possibly Erotica...though you generally have to be "in that mood" to listen to it and call it the best.
I'm Breathless. It's where she really started to show a 'true' sultriness & versatility.

BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S One of the best all time movies.....
Oops! I had a couple of good pics of her majesty, and it didn't come out![]()
BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S One of the best all time movies.....
This is tough cuz I think she's one of the few artists who continues to put out consistently great work. But if I had to pick one, RAY OF LIGHT always stands out in my mind. The vocals, arrangements and lyrics are all amazing. I also think it showed a new side of her and a turning point in her career.
Sidenote: I think despite all of the commercial success she's had over her career, Madonna is one of the most under-rated artists of our time. She actually writes and produces her own material, which cannot be said for most of the other vocalists who are much more highly praised. The media and radio (at least here in the U.S.) seem to have something against her. And while she is provocative, they often create controversy where it doesn't exist. Radio has not been supportive of her at all over the past few years, despite the huge success CONFESSIONS has had around the world and the several singles off of that album which I think could have been hits had they been given the chance (especially her latest single, "Jump"). It can't be for lack of public interest, as her concerts continue to sell-out and even without radio play her last 2 albums debuted at #1 here in America. I don't get it.![]()
i agree i love Express Yourself.
Her first Immaculate Collection is essential for me because it has all the best from her early work; I love it!!! But overall I must say Confessions On A Dance Floor is fucking brilliant!!! I listen to it almost every day!!!!![]()

uh oh i see what this is... its the start of another madonna (goddess) vs mariah(talentless hack) war....
well we all know whos better...bigger... and more popular.....
sorry but if mariah went and adopted a baby from africa it would only be because shes trying to elevate herself to madonnas level....
i personally think its wonderful that all these stars are adopting children from africa.... and shes right that it is bringing more attention to whats going on over there.....hopefully instead of starting wars more govt's will start fully aiding these countries...(wishful thinking i know but heres hoping)
Lucky boy. Madonna will raise him well.
Oh please....
The bitch is a media whore....
I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt. She has no CD coming out,
no tour to promote... Perhaps, I thought, she's just adopting this poor African child
out of the goodness of her heart. (With perhaps the small 'fly in the ointment' that the child's Father doesn't want it to happen....)
But, NO....
She has a new children's book coming out just in time for Christmas.
(Sort of like Lance Bass did.... (Talk about being 'hung by the chimney')
Don't get me wrong, I like Madonna, but I fear 20 years of fame and fortune has caused her to lose her F-ing mind..
Joshy
"Cryin' won't help ya
Prayin' won't do you no good..."
Jesus how do you pick just one.....
ok best album is Erotica.... it has some of the best songs and your right about it being the turning point in her career....
but.... my favorite song of hers is actually "the Power of Goodbye" off of her Ray Of Light album....
Her first album with Borderline and Holiday.
Nothing like the original.
I use to listen to "True Blue" and "Like a Prayer" with my mom. She loves Madonna. But I really love "Confessions On A Dance Floor". It's GREAT!
Only Madonna could make purchasing black people fashionable again! That whole Civil War/Abolitionist thing was so tired.LOL
Music is probably my favourite album... followed by Confessions, ROL, Erotica, American Life and Bedtime Stories.
and it hurts with every heartbeat......
Bedtime Stories.

Profits from the book will go directly to the Raising Malawi foundation. And I don't think she even once mentioned the book during the interview on Oprah. I may be wrong, I tuned in like eight minutes into it.
Seriously, all these arguments are fucking ridiculous! Who the fuck would ADOPT a CHILD as a publicity stunt!? Honestly.
Honestly, I have to give her some credit. Even though she does have this book coming out, I don't see how taking on a huge responsibility of a less fortunate child could benefit her in the long run once the book is out and about. Yeah, it gets her name in the news, but have any of the media articles really stated anything about her book? Not that I've seen. As much as I don't care for her any longer, I do think she was sincere in this adoption. I question her actions alot, even this one, but I find that she is just trying to bring joy and a better life to someone less fortunate. The way she went about it, African Idol, was kind of irking me, but you know what, at least she did it at all. This doesn't make me like her music or her publicity stunts any, but I do have respect for her charitable nature, which is another reason I love Mariah, but I digress. She can't be SHOCKED by the media attention surrounding it but I do believe they are being a bit harsh. I believe she is genuine about her desire for adopting this child and i look forward the healthy raising of the boy.
I see she's still speaking in a British accent. LOL![]()
AWE DAMN I missed it. I was shopping with the boyfriend for clothes for him.
Damn oh well. I hope they re-air it. Someone keep me posted.
Coming from someone who hasn't been following the whole baby issue thing (I actually watched the show today to see the Dixie Chicks), I think she handled herself really well. She seemed sincere and honest when she was answering the questions. From what she talked about in the interview, with the adoption process and the foundation, it doesn't seem to be for publicity. She seems to genuinely care. If she didn't then she is one hell of an actress.
She came across as the class act she has evolved into over the years from her by-gone days of rolling around on stage in her underwear.
And she pretty much branded her detractors as the shallow, insipid bottom-feeders that they are without stooping to their level and actually calling them that.
For anyone to say that she is not genuine and sincere in her adoption of this child and in her broader philanthropic efforts is simply a reflection of that person's toxic personality and intrinsic inability to have compassion for others.
That's what I'm thinking...
You might kiss Britney Spears as a publicity stunt or jump around on Oprah's couch for (some sort of) a publicity stunt...but adopt a child from Africa? Yes of course money's not a problem for her, she's got people to help her, but she's still adopting...
OMG WTF's up with her faux-british accent??
I totally dig her accent..even if it's un peu FAUX (or whatever u may call it)! ...so posh and regal which befits her leonine nature...and it makes her a lot more interesting!
Je t'adore MADONNA!
VIVE LA REINE!!!
Can't wait to watch her on Oprah when it airs here in Manila!

I'm gonna have to say Confessions...I like how all the songs blend together
Best album - EROTICA and MUSIC
best single - LIVE TO TELL
Best song: suBstitute for love, swim, skin, till death do us part, IMPRESSIVE INSTANT
Now that 2006 is winding down what do you wish had happened differently in the zany Madonna world over the past twelve months? Here's my picks:
THAT U.S. RADIO IGNORED "Sorry" causing the superlative song to stall at a totally inappropriate No. 58. Nevermind that radio shut out "Get Together" and "Jump" (those songs WERE garbage). "Sorry" deserved a lot better than what it got. Boo, ClearChannel and the other robotic radio stations out there. Your loss.
THAT MADONNA'S PEOPLE put out "I'm Going To Tell You A Secret" Period. What was the secret? How to open the dual disc package without breaking it? I was so put off by this project that I still haven't finished watching the DVD itself ... which is almost undistinguishable from the CD also enclosed. Utter confusion.
MADONNA HERSELF. Those concert ticket prices. Enough said.

i kind of like get together and jump,though![]()
That her song lyrics included the phrase "Let it will be". What the fuck do that mean?!?!? Using 'What it will be" would have worked much better. As in "Just let it be, what it will be" rather than "Just let it be, let it will be." Make more sense, fits rhythmically, and she can still call the song "Let It Be".
Get Together and Jump garbage? I'm Going To Tell You A Secret shouldn't have been released? Ticket prices too high? Go fuck yourself.
Best album : "True Blue" and "Confessions on a Dance Floor" - tie -
Best single : "Erotica"
