There is a poor wittle wabbit in my yard eating soggy food left over food from yesterday. Hope he doesn't get a cold from wet feet.

You could make him a nice dry hutch.
I think they have that backwards, though - the feeding is fuel for the body, which generates the fever to kill the cold germs.
Not that too high a fever is a good thing . . .
I think the point of the saw is reminding people who feel like shit that they need to keep their strength up and stay hydrated. All too often people hunker down and don't eat or drink at all.
I don't think the medical profession has an issue with reminding people to eat, drink, and get plenty of rest.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
when you tell a person to starve a cold, or starve a fever, it is not good advise is what I was trying to point out. One needs hydration and food.
The full import of the saying needs to be explained, then.
It is in the act of feeding the body that you feed the fever and thereby starve the cold. Eating and drinking is HOW you "starve" the cold, by fueling the body's defenses.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
Thanks Unca dynk. Now the bunny is warm and cozy.

I knew he needed to keep warm
rabbit fur is so soft...
My grandpa used to raise rabbit, mostly for the meat (very good, sorry to say, Triple G) but also for the skin: he made gloves and mittens liner with it!
My brother had wabbits for his kids. Mostly as pets.
That's about as cute as dynk's bunny ski hat sleeping bag is!
How is our resident hare feeling today?
Eating lots of soup, drinking lots of tea/hot liquids (with or without a touch or brandy or similar!)?
Taking LOTS of hot showers?
We want you up and dancing a jig in time for St. Paddy's day.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
I have been bumping into several cute bunny posts and reposting them hare.

I blame HBB for all the cute bunny threads.
I just made my distribution.

^you'll have to repost those pics using other means then Photobucket...
But the bunnies you posted in #266 are squee beyond belief!
^don't they show up? They show up here.
I can see them, too - cute!
Glad to hear you're working your way toward fully restored, Triple G.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .

A pair of large owls have moved in the penthouse of one of my palm trees. Hope they do not like bunny burgers or quail crackers.

Did you say bunnies?

Triple G,
I suspect they may well have moved in due to the wonderful "buffet" they see on offer. Sorry.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
Alas Triple, as bunnies are at the bottom of the food chain, the chances are fairly good the Owls are there to fulfill their part as being higher up on said chain
Good morning, Triple G.
How's the Olfactory system this morning?
Have your owls stuck around, or have they headed on?
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
BTW,those are nice owls.
Good morning

Good morning G
Watch for those Owls. We have large Hawks here and they swoop down and grab small animals.
Hi dynk.
We have small hawks and they have taken two quail in my backyard that I know of. I watched one swoop in over my roof, dive down, make a rad turn and nail the poor bird. He must have been doing 50 or 60 mph.![]()
JUB's cuddle bunny since 2005
One swung down between our two houses yesterday with something in his claws, he almost bumped into Scot as he opened the door to come out
Hey Triple G, dynk.
Glad you're still on the mend.
We're getting more hawks, some eagles, too.
I've seen eagles - golden and bald swoop into one of our marsh areas and grab some good sized fish. I haven't seen them get any furry woodland creatures on the run, but I'm sure they have.
Then again, our Maine Coon INDOOR cat got out one day, and brought back a dead red fox as a gift for my 19YO daughter to deal with while we were at work.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
I never heard of those cats Don
My late grand-father use to work in a high rise, and some peregrine f.alcon had nested near the roof, and he told us that he once saw one of them catch a pigeon in flight!
Sorry for the "." in f.alcon, but I refuse to make free publicity to a porn studio...
why didn't I think of ding that in some of my posts?
They're called Gentle Giants. The most recent Ripleys Largest Domestic Cat is a Maine Coon. Ours was the runt of his litter - he's now 19 Lbs - they get upwards of 27Lbs.

Did you know that Triple G was in Woodstock? Here's the incontrovertible proof:
Who knew dandelion leaves were psychotropic for bunnies?
