Both these guys weighed in naked, there was even an article (no longer around, and in Spanish) about the first one talking in very graphic detail about every inch of this guy, I think he's called someone Vasquez. And the second one weighed in naked with a towel to his side but not to his front (saw the video, long gone I'm afraid), even though there were photographers and a videocamera in front of him!

This one, again, is a screen-cap from an old video which isn;t around any more. It's of Joe Riggs attempting to make weight for one of his fights, when everyone else had left and it was just him and a few other people around. He initially was covered by a towel and then a t-shirt but then when he made his final attempt they didn't bother!

like i say i have been to some weigh-ins and i have known fighters loose title shots because they were 2 ounces over the weight limit!!

Thanks for posting all those!! Love it!

I guess being a couple of ounces over the weight limit can be a big deal if it puts the fighter into a different weight class. He may not be competitive compared to other fighters in that next higher weight class.

As far as having to strip naked, it's really NOT necessary. They can weigh him with his underwear on, then have him take them off and weigh the underwear by itself and subtract it. It does involve another step though, and I guess these events wouldn't be as 'interesting'....

all boxers fight in weight classes, for exapmle Amir Khan (below) is a light welterweight boxer and can weigh no more than 10stone (140lbs) at the official weigh-in. fighters need to be as close to their maximum allowed weight as possible but without going over. if he weighed 10stone 2ounces then a quick way for him to loose the bit of weight is to take his pants of!! some boxers just do it for the fun though, others are more shy. enjoy the pics and videos
