Or forever hold your peace.
The title song is probably the best song on the album, but there's more than one standout track.
We can all laugh at her on forums and shit, she laughs at us on the way to the bank I suppose, so we end up with the short end of the stick =(
I've been an avid Taylor Swift fan since her first album and I have to say her latest album has been lacking.
It may be difficult to imagine, but there was a time that Swift wasn't all bubblegum pop and would never be associated with artists such as Selena Gomez, Taylor Lautner, or the Jonas Brothers.
Since the success of Love Story, Swift has been hard at work appealing to her tween fans and it shows. Speak Now feels much more engineered than her previous albums and a lot of the heartfelt country songs have disappeared.
The singles Mine and Speak Now are particularly weak. Swifts voice is lifeless and unenthusiastic singing about silly madeup events.
Swift has also increasingly resorted to exploiting her status as celebrity whore to pen mediocre songs and attract publicity. Most notably, Dear John is a bitter ballad directed at John Mayer accusing him of playing "dark, twisted games" on a 19 y.o. Back to December is a corny, insincere apology to Taylor Lautner.
The one gem in the album I believe is Mean. The song is more reminiscent of her earlier works before her target demographic lost 30 years.
Holy Haters!
"Better than Revenge" is my favorite song by her.
To be honest, I find her music to be dull/vanilla.
Beyoncé had one of the best songs of all time.
- Of all time!
Gay marriage used to be punk rock. Now it's selling Subarus and shit.
It's getting to be that time again! Her new single will be out over the summer and a new album in October. WHO'S EXCITED.
I do think she can hit a million again but we will see. She has 14 million followers on twitter, so if you say 1 in every 14 people that follow her is a fan and buys her album in the first week she is already at one million.

I love Taylor Swift <3 I swear she follows me around and writes about my life!
I wanna know what it'd be like, to find perfection in my pride, to see nothing in the light.
This thread makes me miss Moe.
I thought she died.
Go Taylor!!!!!!On our list of the 10 highest-paid celebrities under 30, women take six spots, and four of the top five, led by Taylor Swift at No. 1. We estimate that between May 2011 and May 2012, Swift earned $57 million. Each of the 22-year-old singer’s three albums have gone platinum at least four times, meaning that in these days of waning music sales, Swift can be counted on to sell at least 4 million copies of every album.
Taylor Swift wins 5 more awards
Country music star Taylor Swift, 22, picked up five awards,
including choice music female artist and female country artist,
as well as voice actress for her role in animated comedy "The
Lorax." The singer was also among the top winners last year at
the awards show that airs on the Fox television network.
She has done so much at such a young age.
Make some more room on that mantle, Taylor Swift! The songstress can add another award honor to her repertoire from one of the most famous families in America.
The newly dark-haired singer will be receiving the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rightsthis December.
The award honors leaders in entertainment, business and social activists who work to make a change in society. With Taylor’s efforts to inspire and change the younger generation, organization president Kerry Kennedy knew the fit was perfect.
“Taylor Swift’s dedication to advocacy at such a young age continues to inspire me, and I’m delighted to honor her as one of our 2012 Ripple of Hope Award recipients.”
He continued in the statement to rave about her accomplishments: “as a young person, Taylor has already accomplished so much, and I look forward to watching all that she will do to help build a brighter, more peaceful world for us all.”
Swift will join previous prestigious honorees including President Bill Clinton, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bono, George Clooney and Vice President Al Gore.
I don't think that Patrick has that much pull with the award committee.
From Eonline:
Taylor Swift is flirty with a Kennedy, and suddenly she's getting the Robert F. Kennedy Award. Coincidence?
—C. Theorist, via the inbox
I adore a good conspiracy theory as much as the next paranoiac. And, at first, there does seem to be an interesting coincidence going on.
Yes, I can confirm that 22-year-old country-rock-power-pop star Taylor Swift will receive a prestigious award Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.
And, of course, Swift also happens to have become tight buddies with Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of actor Arnold and Kennedy-by-blood Maria Shriver. In fact the singer and the 18-year-old model spent Independence Day at the Kennedy compound in Cape Cod.
So are the two facts connected? Here's what I dug up:The first thing you should know is that this a award is a big deal. Awarded to big people. Who have done very, very big things. Like, say, rule the free world. The honor, called the Ripple of Hope Award, highlights "leaders of the international business, entertainment, and activist communities who demonstrate commitment to social change," according to a statement from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights.
Previous recipients? How about President Bill Clinton, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Bono, George Clooney and Vice President Al Gore?
And now...Taylor SwiftBut before you start making accusations of nepotism—or whatever it is when someone spends July 4 at your family compound and then gets your award—know this: When I reached out to the foundation, the person who spoke to me hadn't heard of the Patrick Schwarzenegger/Taylor Swift friendship at all.
And one other thing you should know: Swift really has, apparently, earned this award.
"What strikes me most about Taylor is the work she does away from the spotlight—her leadership in the movement for arts education, her generosity to communities devastated by natural disaster, and especially the compassion she's shown as a proud defender against bullying and LGBTI discrimination," Kennedy Center President Kerry Kennedy said in a statement. "As my father Robert Kennedy said to the students of South Africa in 1966, our world's hope rests with our youth.
"As a young person, Taylor has already accomplished so much, and I look forward to watching all that she will do to help build a brighter, more peaceful world for us all."
Maybe the Kennedy folks are just trying to reach out to a younger demographic?
Meh. I think the bar has been set too low. I know there are some who have achieved much by the age of, let us say 25, but I doubt some watery tart who has had a couple hits qualifies for any sort of achievement like this, especially when compared to other recipients.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
Give a man religion, and he'll starve praying for a fish.
I can't wait!!!!
The singer announced on Tuesday (August 7) that she will be doing a live webcast on Monday (August 13) at 7 p.m. ET. The event will go down on her official YouTube channel. The date of the livestream is hardly a coincidence as 13 just so happens to be Swift's lucky number.
"Hey, it's Taylor. So I really want to talk to you about something. I would love it if you would join me August 13 for a live webchat," she said in a video tease posted online. "You can ask questions. I want to share some news with you, some really cool news. Not gonna go into it too much, but it's cool. I'll see you there."
Fans who want to get in on the action can ask Swift questions through a live social chat that will take place during the stream. Additionally, there will be a Google+ Hangout created around the event.
Tomorrow is her live chat where she is going to tell everyone the title of the new album and the other information.
I'm fangirling so hard right now.
HAVE YOU LISTENED TO IT? OMYGOD THE FLAWLESSNESS. Too much for my heart to handle!
my niece is a HUGE fan of hers and some of her songs have catchy lyrics and music
and i dont mean any disrespect but, i think she is overrated.
Her likability (in very sharp contrast to the sexy images of singers her age) i think makes her win the awards.
while i think mayer is a huge d-bag, i think he was right in implying that swift isnt a really good songwriter.
i think she is talented but just not worthy of the awards she has been getting in particular, one of the big 3 grammy award
oh and her new single, we are never ever getting back together is incredibly catchy, too.
Can she be #1????
From Billboard.com:
"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," the first single from Taylor Swift's fourth studio album "Red," due Oct. 22, appears headed for digital sales history. It, meanwhile, blasts onto multiple Billboard airplay charts following its first week of availability.
According to updated industry sources, the track, released late Monday, Aug. 13, will have moved more than 600,000 downloads by the end of the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week yesterday (Aug. 19). Considering that its opening-week sales projection has grown to at least 600,000, "Never" will likely earn the largest week ever for a song by a female artist - and the second-biggest week ever.

Yeah she cycles through men like a rent boy in Manhattan. Wonder why? Likely a total cunt, that's why.
blacksyringe
Yeah. A #1 single out of over a dozen single releases and four albums. So very, very impressive. *Yawn* 'Grats, I guess?
blacksyringe
She broke two records with her new song!!!!
Sure she is no Katy Perry but I guess nobody is right now since her record breaking singles still stands.....Go Katy Perry!!!!
WOW no #1 singles but all her albums have sold over 5m.....Her most recent one sold 1m+ in the first week, only second to Godney, and is # 61 in Billboard 200...2 yrs later and her 4yr old album is at #157....Did I mention that the albums did all that without a # 1 single.....WOW!!!!
I said it once and I will say it again Taylor Swift is the most accomplished Artist of this generation![]()
and i'll say it again....she has no talent at all....gimme travis tritt anyday if you want some real country![]()
didnt joe jonas imply the same thing saying taylor writes good pop songs (some of which are ingrained in my brain forever thanks to my niece) .
TMZ made a funny but true observation. whats the common thing about jake, mayer, jonas? swift. while its artistic license to be biographical in one's art, sometimes isnt she misusing it as a vendetta of sorts against her exes.
that being said, her new single is unbelievably catchy! i like it a lot.
Well, her VMA performance made that show actually watchable. Other then her, it was incredibly boring. Also, she has a new song out called "Ronan". It is about a 4 year old boy who died of Neuroblastoma. The mother of the boy helped cowrite on the song so it is very personal. It was one of Taylor's best songs she has ever written. Everyone should go and listen to it, plus if you like it: go to iTunes and buy it. All the proceeds from the single is all going to cancer research/patients. Totally worth it!
That is the beauty of music, nobody can tell you to like it, you have to feel it in your heart, and if you do nobody can tell it's not good. Taylor Swift the first time I heard her, I was who's that, and from then on I loved her. Especialy love that she writes her own songs, because they come from her. It doesn't bother me she is exposed alot, that's the buisness. It bothers me if she's screwing up her life or becoming an idiot, not apreciating the talent she has, but she doesn't do any of those things, she's a class act, and that makes me like her more.
What do you mean? It's promo for the new album. She is doing an iTunes countdown 4 weeks until the album release. A new song will be premiered and previewed on Good Morning America on Monday's and then it will be on iTunes at 12:00am that same night. It's great promotion for a new album, but she really doesn't need it. This album is going to slayyy.
