Lower Dens - Brains
I always prefer that EMI Zacharias' take...
all the other versions on the UT are so drowsy and numb... as though of hemlock they had drunk from the score.
If I could have learned to play that the way it sounds in my head... which is not that far from the way THIS sounds...

I have always so damn damn loved this sonata and this rendering of it..:
... which does not imply that I consider it a perfect example to follow![]()

It's even crappier than the original tune, but...

I can never go more than a few weeks without listening to this piece.
It seems to have it all--beautiful coloratura soprano Kathryn Grayson, lovely dancing sprite Cyd Charisse, and some of the most beautiful women you ever saw.
Ah, shrill Grayson in shrill 1940s technicholor! That is the sequence in which, according to what Cyd commented in an interview, several girls had to be rushed to hospital because they were too demure to know how to deal with a crazy foam party. Had they been 1920s flappers, they would have had a blast.
First heard this on tumblr, and boy did it speak to me. Working through pain via poetry set to rap. It's both real, and beautiful, but be advised, also exceptionally dark. "Hope You Don't Mind" by Austrailian rapper 360.
Why I ♥ Betty White - Her quote to Huffington Post's Chris Harnick:
Oh! I didn't know I was a gay icon. I get a lot of mail -- but I don't get many bad letters -- but I got a woman the other day that was so upset with me because they said, "How do you feel about the gay marriage thing?" and my answer to that is, "I really don't care with whom you sleep, I just care what kind of a decent human being you are." I figure all the rest of it is your business and not mine. And not hers, incidentally.
Full orchestra, modern instruments... but who cares with that score:
Oh, no reprise in the andante... bof! of course, what do you expect in 8 minutes. Crappy last movement.
What a shame, what decadence.

I had to step off the Train and
out of the moment to pay respect

Eternal youth and endless life. I'll sacrifice everything and everyone to obtain it
Belamo taught me this one.
Man, is it a dark one! Underneath that pretty face and the fluffy tune, this sassy lassie sings to us that,"You might as well dance and sing today, because tomorrow you might die in a bloody war, or end up poor and wretched."
Heavy stuff.
A good example of "ye-ye" music, though. Listen up, and you'll see why.
Not exactly, well, in fact that's wrong: the song says that she will have to work extremely hard to earn just a small pittance, and that she will end either alone, without love, or married to the wrong guy, realizing it only on the very wedding night... and then, the song ends up commenting that, while she is living her life, wars are being waged somewhere on the planet to protect freedom (implying her own too).

It's one funny song with titillating lyrics, but the worse thing are the faces of the Creutzfeldt–Jakob-striken French cows and the Soylent-Green architecture: the leaden 1970s were hovering...
Suddenly feel like doing a Latin/Spanish routine. I need a caliente papi to do with me![]()
Oh, I forgot to add that, because of it all, the refrain advises her to make the most of her life, singing and dancing like, literally, there were no tomorrow, or like she were to die at dawn... but not because of WWIII or anything like that were going to sweep her away in a bloodshed.
