Lana Del Rey - Ride
i remember actually seeing shanice perform on that old show on nickelodeon welcome freshmen.
nickelodeon was the sheit back then. don't know about now or the last decade but.... i know right now 18 years ago, i would be chilling with snick and episodes of are you afraid of the dark.
oh how the time flies.

B0unc3 - Distorted Reality
Brilliant movie, equally brilliant soundtrack. Hans Zimmer obviously took quite a bit of inspiration from this movie for Inception.
B0unc3 - Here We Go (Club Edit)
I have often wondered--why do so many classics get remembered, and played endlessly on oldies stations, while others--equally well-crafted--get completely forgotten?
Here's one such tune from 1978. Those were the pre-AIDS, pre-STD days of Studio 54; the days of all-night dancing and drinking at a party that would, just a few short years later, get abruptly crashed by the scourge of AIDS.
Everybody remembers Sisters Sledge for We Are Family, but who remembers this other top-10 tune of theirs?
Another offering from the "unjustly forgotten disco classics"
I give you CHIC. And chic they were--I marvel at their beauty and their sophistication even now....Sadly, one of them has passed away:
Check out the violins! You never see violins in popular music these days.

@Miaedu:
I actually remember "Lost in Music"! It was a mid-level hit in the late 70s. I think it reached about 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I don't remember the other one at all, though.
B0unc3 - Bleeding Heart
Weird. Not shocking though. Like mesmerizing. But.![]()

My contribution for this week
'Jamie Woon' met 'Street' from cd 'Mirrorwriting' of 2011
Just pull the switch...
And there will be light!
I hadn't heard this in many years but it kept popping into my head over the last few days. I'd forgotten just how much fun the video was although, to be honest, I still love the song (as well as the guys in it).

Oh! I'm a contemporary of Sister Sledge. I attended Temple University at the same time as at least two of the sisters. (But...we haven't met yet.)
Kathy Sledge hosted a holiday special on local Philadelphia TV last Christmas. She sounds fine.
And my favorite Sister Sledge songs? These two almost-forgotten ones:
Sister Sledge - Love Don't Go Through No Changes On Me
and
Sister Sledge - All American Girls
silversun pickups - it's nice to know you work alone
