Are email notification delays normal? Or is it me?
At first it seemed like instant email notifications were instant, but lately I've noticed they can take a few days to arrive. They show up with the correct time stamp, but it can be days later. It could be that my mail server is doing something odd, but I have no other reason to think my incoming email is delayed. Other times they arrive right away. The ones I've noticed are for new private messages. I haven't noticed delays with subscribed threads, but I get those for only one thread now.
If a few delays are not normal sometimes, is there anything special about those emails that could cause a delay in delivery? It's not like they're held up in a spam folder since they arrive eventually.
Thanks

The time-stamps on the messages should show where the delay is occurring.

Re: Are email notification delays normal? Or is it me?
Am I correctly reading this as showing that my mail server at AOL received the message from JUB almost three days late? (third line below)
Thanks.

AOL received the message for you at 24 minutes past midnight on Sunday, and popped it into your mail-box 2 days 19 hours and 16 seconds later. So, yes, they had the message for 2 1/2+ days before they got around to giving it to you, if that's what you're meaning.

Thanks. I thought it said AOL received it from JUB 2.5+ days late.

Re: Are email notification delays normal? Or is it me?
The guy who provides email to our company said the delay is at JUB, which is how I read it. So, should I just assume it could take up to three days to get instant notifications? It varies quite a lot. If this is normal, I can adjust my expectations.
Thanks.

Re: Are email notification delays normal? Or is it me?
I'm also wondering if AOL holds up JUB emails. Specifically I often email to myself a reminder to read a thread. I use the Email command from the drop down box and not the Subscribe option.
I know I'm limited to 1 email per minute however if I email myself say 5 reminders, I seem to only get the first 2 reminders. I suppose it's possible the other 3 might show up a couple days later, but by then I've forgot just when I sent myself the reminders.
They don't show up in my spam folder so I assume that AOL's master filter it catching them. I've had issues before with AOL if I try and email photos from a non-AOL account TO an AOL account. I used to get blocked or blacklisted for 2 weeks or more from sending anything to an AOL email account.

I'm still having issues with the EMAIL THIS PAGE tool. For instance, last evening I sent myself 5 email's over a period of about 1/2 hour. I received almost immediately email #2, 3, and 4. I resent #5 and #1, but only received #5. Then this afternoon I resent myself #1 yet again and did receive it immediately.
So is this a known issue with JUB?? Or maybe an AOL issue??
