Of course FF13 had the opposite problem, great storyline (IMO) but mediocre gameplay.
I'm on disc 3 of Lost Odyssey right now, and I'm lovin' it.
I mentioned this in another thread, but 'The Last Story' for the wii is being made by Mistwalker as well and Uematsu is doing the music for that as well. I unfortunately don't have a Wii but I was thinking of getting one this year for a few games that have come out and are coming out.
By the trailer you can already tell the music will be awesome. And I'm not a graphics whore, but it does look real good for the Wii, imo.
An ALERT for Gaymers playing Lost Odyssey:
After sailing through 3 discs of the game smoothly, I started encountering disc read errors on disc 4. I had noticed that the loading times were longer, but didn't think much of it until I was near the end of a really long segment when my unit froze up tighter than a bull's ass in fly season.
After shutting down manually, I tried installing the disc, but at about the 40% mark, I got a disc read error.
Cleaning the disc hand no effect. A little research led to the discovery that this is a frequent occurrence, cased by a residue on the disc from the separate paper sleeve the 4th disc is shipped in. The fix is rather bizzare, and I never would have thought of it:
I heated up a pot of water until it was boiling then removed it from the element. Using tongs I grabbed the disc from each side and dunked it in for 10 seconds, twice, making sure not to touch the sides or bottom of the pot (which can warp the disc apparently). I took it out and wiped it down with a tissue, wiping from the center to the outside (not in a circular motion).
There was no residue to wipe off which I have seen mentioned on other forums. In fact, it looked exactly the same as it did before. Anyway, I noticed the difference as soon as I popped the disc in. It sounded normal while spinning (before it was really quiet) and load times are the same as the other discs. And the main point - no disc read errors! Have played about 20 mins and it is loading perfectly.
Finally I have thrown out the cursed paper sleeve. The fourth disc can *just* fit on the same peg as the other three discs. Hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
I'm playing Epic Mickey...wow is all I can say right now.
Thanks for the heads up.
Yeah, there is a video that goes into the fighting system more and it looks very interesting. Unfortunately there are no subtitles for the video.Looks awesome.
I love Nobuo Uematsu's music and yeah, this does look really good for a wii game. Damn.
Has everyone seen the new images from the next Tomb Raider game? It's looking pretty awesome!
There's a couple more details here as well...
It's interesting they're rebooting the character. It sounds fasinating but quite risky for a medium dominated mostly by straight men. I can't wait though!
I've been playing the games I've gotten for Christmas mostly, but I just bought the 3rd Professor Layton DS game. I've been puzzling over it for a week now.
And yes, I do love bad puns.
still hooked on City of Villains (surprise - been playing on Virtue Server since game came out) but the Incarnate system of post lvl 50 content has finally given me a reason to play my 50s more.
I'm head of the VG The Obsidian Oath on virtue - global is Pool Boy. Hit me up in game sometime.
Also loved Dragon Age - but was disappointed that the expansion Awakenings wasn't half as gay friendly as Origins. Has anyone heard if they'll be including the same type of adult content in Dragon Age II? Any commitment to LGBT inclusion they made with origins is called into question by hiring homophobic sci-fi writer Orson Scott Card to write the comics book adaption of the game.
Been playing a lot of Mario Party lately....the older games are in many ways more enjoyable than the recent ones.
I just found all my old computer games so I've been playing Battle for Middle Earth and Age of Mythology, good times
I'm sucha fan for any fps, espionage, stealth games and good gore detail but what i really love, is games like Hitman (the whole game series), Deus Ex (whole series incl. TNM mod), Fallout 3 and NV, Splinter cell(s), Alpha Protocol etc...
games where you can interact with the world and where your choices have an effect on the upcoming stuff, those games are real gems and those are the ones i'd like to see more.
I'm über excited about LA. Noir and Deus Ex 3. Any Hitman 5 news would be also positive. I don't exactly know what's the probem over at IO but they REALLY should pick up the pace, it's not that hard really.
I've been listening to a lot of music lately.. so I decided to start playing Audiosurf again. Love the game and with the right type of music the graphics go along with the songs. Since I got the game I have logged in 32 hours. o.o
I know BFME is kinda addictive, I came home from work last night and that's all I did from like 10:30 to almost 2:30...AOM was fun when it first came out but now its lost its charm. I never did get into Zeus, I tried it at a friends house and I thought it was kinda boring.
Other than that I've got a guys night coming up so that means two days straight of L4D2 on expert mode should be a lot of fun this time were going to play L4D then transition.
I'm expecting to hear full reviews from all those who run out to get DC Universe Online tomorrow...
I've largely grown out of my gaming phase, although I'm still hanging on to my Playstation 3 for 'The Last Guardian', just to see if it will be any good.
Thanks the Shy Guy is my favorite Mario character, I always felt bad when you had to kill them.
Yes the Shy Guy is adorable ....Sure the Black ones were a little mean, but they are my favorite they were the best.
On a side note my friend sent me a link for a GBA emulator so I get to play some old Zelda and Pokemon, great way to help avoid homework.
[QUOTE=rainyguy67;6790501]Yes the Shy Guy is adorable ....Sure the Black ones were a little mean, but they are my favorite they were the best.
I liked the white ones the best. The Anti Guys in paper mario... I had more game overs than I care to remember due to them....
Quick question, anyone here play League of Legends?
Anyone buy DCU Online today?
I am putting $ aside for the (probable) March, NA launch of the Nintendo 3DS.
As soon as Future Shop starts preorders, I'mma puttin' money down.
Just saw the new trailer for Dragon Age II today. Looks amazing, especially the little part where they show Hawke making out with Isabella. :P (waits for someone with the PC version to mod that so it's Hawke with Alistair, just for fun ;P)
Did anyone preorder Okamiden through the Capcom store for the Chibiterasu plushie? I'm such a sucker for cute plushies :P
I had a dream last night where I picked up Marvel vs Capcom 3 (finally) and the store clerks were jerks and charged me $6 extra because they could. Not a nice dream
How is Epic Mickey? I was thinking of buying it.
^ It must be bad I find their prices good most of the time
Gamestop is really only good for used games that's it. Although I do appreciate that the one near me gave me extra decals for BBS when I asked for an extra one. They ran out of LBP2 CE orders though
But amazon says that the game shipped today and should be here today. I've never done amazon's 99 cent delivery date shipping before but the game went down by a dollar and they gave me the lowest price. I've been really impressed with amazon lately and if this delivers on time than I might not really have a use for gamestop anymore.
I really hope epic mickey does come to PS3 too. I have a feeling it will happen.
Oh and LBP2, Mass Effect 2, and Deadspace 2 all come out tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a good day for gaming.
Amazon is usually pretty good. 90% of the time I get my stuff earlier than expected.
Im currently playing DC universe on ps3... yes geeky but hey nothing better than beating batman in the face ^^
