Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
^Britney has a lot of good songs that were never singles, Amnesia and some reggae song from The Onyx Hotel era (I can't remember the name) come to my mind.
In other news, the Scream And Shout remix was completely lame. Once again I feel like Will.i.Am wasted Britney, he could've have made her sing more. Instead we got 4 rappers (including has-been Diddy and 2 nobodies) cursing for 5 minutes...LAME AND DESPERATE.

I think you're talking about "The Hook Up." I love that song. The ENTIRE "In The Zone" album is great. It's my favorite Britney album.
But let's not forget "Breathe On Me." This performance is flawless. Let's watch sexy Leo in all his glory...

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
In The Zone is also my favorite Britney album. Tied with "Britney" if you count the bonus songs.
But ITZ is probably the era I was the unhappiest about the single choices. Out of all those great songs they picked Me Against The Music as the first single I don't mind it but half of the songs from the album are far better.
The album had a lot of tracks with new sounds and more foreign influences than her earlier albums. For example "Touch Of My Hand", "The Hook Up", "Outrageous", "Toxic" and "Breathe On Me" (this one just screams European hit). I would have loved all of those songs to become singles but just one of them did (Outrageous was semi-released as a radio single though, it wasn't fully released because she broke her leg during the music video shoot and never got to finish it).
I think the problem with the single choices is that her label always wants to play it safe rather than to take risks.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
If you are like me and can't bare to watch the S&S remix video from beginning to end then here is a mashup of the original one and the remix one with just the Britney parts:
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
Britney looks beautiful as a brunette. Better than blonde I'd say. The blond only looks good on music videos when she's all made up, but if you see pictures of her walking around her blond hair looks fried and terrible.
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
^ I thought she looked gorgeous at the premiere of Xfactor even with blond hair.
and then she got those horrible bangs that made her look 10 times older. blergh.
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
Just saying but...
Broke up with Justin, dyed her hair brown and we got In The Zone
Divorced KFed, dyed her hair black and we got Blackout
Called off engagement with Jason, dyed her hair brown and... her next album will probably be AMAZING
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
Well to be fair she probably suffers from social anxiety since the whole breakdown.
I feel like he kinda dissed her with the whole music video comment. Few people have as much experience as Britney when it comes to shooting (big production) music videos. She's also known for having her hands on things rather than just being told what to do (maybe not this time because she was the featured artist)

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
She's probably sick of the attention she's gotten over the years. The camera was on this poor girl from her Mickey Mouse club days... She does come across in her interviews lately as trying to build an imaginary wall between her and the interviewer. Can't blame her.
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
Honestly I think her career is pretty solid and she doesn't need to do all the the shit she did in her early years. Her worst album release (Blackout) still debuted 2nd place in the US and 1st place worldwide despite there being zero promotion. She has a solid fanbase which sticks with her as long as the music continues to be good.
I'm sure she wants to continue being successful but I think unlike some of her fans she doesn't give a shit if she sells less than Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber or whoever else is hot right now.

Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
^^I completely understand and think she is well justified. I was purely talking light hearted interviews, not in depth ones, that show off her personality a little bit more. Her name alone makes her music career lucrative, she still garners attention while doing mundane things, so I agree no need for an onslaught of media attention now. But since she's become this mysterious figure of sorts, it's nice to see the southern valley girl is still present.
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
If everything goes according to plan, album #8 will truly be her masterpiece. will.i.am is correct: she can't be a sex siren on the dance floor forever, it's time for substance. So glad we have official word on the direction of the album.
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
I'm excited for this new direction, too. Sure, her dancefloor anthems are catchy, but her truly remarkable songs are the more mature entries in her catalogue, like "Everytime", "Unusual You", and "Why Should I Be Sad". For the first time since In The Zone we'll see a Britney album that actually has heart. This should be good.
Re: The Official BRITNEY SPEARS Discussion Thread!
"Ooh La La" is fun, flirty, and catchy. Quintessential pop ear candy, I like. Though kinda meh about the "demo" being no different from the official release, I thought if anything the breakdown would be changed.
I liked her interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning.
