I just received the new Entertainment weekly and it say's they will be debuting a new openly gay character played by actor Darren Criss.

I already mentioned that :P the character will be named 'Blaine' and he will be Kurt's mentor. Its been confirmed that he will only be here for this series but he will have a major story arc with Kurt. The relationship between them was mentioned to be just friends, Blaine was described as 'The old pro' thus he helps Kurt.

He will debut in episode 6 ( November 2nd if I recall ) and his first song is 'Teenage Dream' by Katy Perry.

So far what we know of his storyline is:

He left his old school due to bullying after he came out and transferred to where he is now, the all boys school 'Dalton Academy'. Dalton Academy has a strict no bullying policy, thus he feels safe and secure to be himself. Somehow he will meet Kurt, and their friendship begins.

So far this is the only picture released of Blaine and the Dalton Academy Glee club, known as the 'Dalton Academy Warblers. Blaine is 4th from the left, standing up.

People have roughly figured out that him and Blaine ( Darren Criss ) wont be permanent. Darren is only signed on for 3 episodes, furthermore the reviews of the Christmas album show Blaine singing about wanting Kurt, but Kurt being real hesitant about things when it comes to Blaine.

Blaine's first appearance is episode 6, he's also got another in episode 10. If theirs one more in-between or after we don't know yet.

Also Sam's sexuality has been hinted at more than people realise, analysis here by someone.

Pretty much, Puck and Quinn are going to be endgame, along with Sam and Kurt. They aren't going to ruin all that build up in series 1 that quickly.
