Phoenix Meetup 2010 (Oct 1-3)

So anyone up for a JUB meet in Phoenix? I was thinking the first weekend in October because that's when we have our Rainbow Festival. The Rainbow Festival is very similar to Pride, but there's no parade and the admission is free. Also, we're have the annual AIDS Walk on October 3rd.

Just wanted to throw the idea out there, don't think I'm that great of an event organizer. Wanted to see what anyone else thinks. I'm thinking it may just be a small (but fun) meet.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be at the same place this year, the web site says 7th st and Monroe (pretty sure that's where it was last year).

If you have your meet a week before or after what you're trying, I wonder if it will draw any JUBbers who would want to go to two meets a week apart? \

The weekend you're scheduling might be difficult because stacyphierce is scheduling Anaheim that same weekend, Those who can "get to a JUB meet" would be divvied up between two meets, enough so that one meet may have nobody but the host or hosts.

Doesn't affect me one way or another - I won't be in the southwestern U. S. in early fall regardless, unlike the past two years.

Just wanted to post an update for this thread. I didn't realize that this was the same weekend as gay days at Disneyland. I was even thinking of going to gay days, but can manage to this year, so I'm commited to this.

I want to keep it on the same weekend for the Rainbow Festival because I want to do it on a weekend that had something going on. So I'm thinking this may be a very small gathering, since many JUBbers may be at Disneyland.

Unlike the past two years, I'll be in "the wrong part" of the West this year at the time, not at all close enough to even drop by the meet. It will be only later that I'll get to California at all, and none of that will be Southern...no
Arizona either.

Anybody who can go, SHOULD GO! I'm not aware of people who have shown up and felt sorry they went. It's a good time for all.

Wish I could make a much bigger JUB Meet, this one will probably be small and low key (if it happens)

I will be in Phoenix a couple days before and after Christmas if any locals want to meet. It's not a good time for people to travel for a meet, of course, but if anyone's game I am. I contacted Quanchi already on Facebook.
