I've been dreading this one.

So here's the deal. Everybody and their uncle says Elijah's gay. Have for years. He's sort of his generation's Tom Cruise when it comes to holding the rumored-gay crown.

So when I met him for the first time (at a party of about 40 people or so) we got to spend a good time talking. Early in the evening, it was while mingling in the thick of everyone. He was very friendly, and I was moderately flirty, but there was definitely no flirting back. But he was incredibly flirty with the girls at the party (and not the tiniest bit flirty with the guys).

And it really did feel genuine; nothing felt stilted or awkward or forced. I truly do believe he wanted to fuck the living hell out of every single one of those girls, and he could have if he wanted.

Later in the evening, we were talking again, this time on the balcony with two of the girls. They went to the bathroom, leaving just the two of us. Now, by this point he had to have known I was into guys, because I was flirting hard with some of the other guys there. So while we waited for the girls, I tried flirting with Elijah a second time, figuring that if I were to get any response, it would be then.

Nothing. Naturally, the evening left me confused. The rumors you hear about him are that he's more-or-less openly gay (just not officially to the public). So why wouldn't he feel comfortable at such a small party of friends and industry pals? Except he did seem comfortable...chasing pussy left and right!

But still, to this day, I ask anyone about Elijah Wood and I get "Oh yeah, he's gay, he's out, was dating so-and-so for awhile."



For the official answer, I have to assume that evening was an anomaly. Something with the planets. I don't know.
