Not only for fans of William Faulkner a controversial discussion:
Livesound without synchronisation and only decent music ?
I say yes! Recently I watched some early belami/falconinter-
national work from George Duroy after more than ten years
Accidental Lovers, Wide Open, Cherries & Summer Camp.
They are still good, with pretty actors and of a high technical
standard: lightning, camera work... almost flawless.
But having been influenced over the last years with some really
nasty and dirty live talking in some films, I must confess: those
sounds of the nineties didn't catch me anymore.
The soundtrack of Summer Camp for example with its
intense countrymusic and banjo tootling in every scene (oh,
actually I love Johnny Cash and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - but
I prefer listening to them for breakfast) spoils the party for me.
And once you have seen the intense facial expressions and
silent moaners of Ivo Svoboda and Tomas Belko (while beeing
hard drilled by Kristian Jensen and Alexander Strauss) in Wide
Open - maybe then you'll agree with me that this is one
really missed opportunity in porn history.
So if there is ever the chance that the producers will tidy up
the studio attic some day and get their hands on the original
tapes - please give us back those stolen screams, Mr. Duroy!
