Here’s what the 26-year-old Tron: Legacy star had to share:

On his first job and his first acting gig: “My first job at 14 was at McDonalds. I was so mad because that particular McDonalds had a stipulation that you couldn’t work the French fry machine until you were 16. I would sneak back and move the fries around and toss the crate back in the oil when the manager came back. It was one of those things that when someone tells you that you can’t do it, it’s all you want to do. My first acting job was Troy.”

On the physical challenges of filming Tron:“Yes, the film was filled with action. Between parkour, capoeira and the motorcycle riding, it’s one action-packed sequence to another. The wire works and doing the stunts was physically very demanding. Being on that journey with Olivia (Wilde) was a great experience. I’d be dropping 40 feet from a wire rig as she was doing spin kicks in heels. We were in it together.”

On working all day in costumes and helmets: “It’s not easy at the start, but like anything else, you kind of get used to it. But being able to wear these suits was such a thrill. They were the first of their kind and the technology that was put into them was fantastic. I loved the privilege of being able to wear them.”

Here’s what the 26-year-old Tron actor had to share:

On personal body confidence: “You might think the thinner version of yourself is going to be the most positive or confident, but that’s not how it is for me. When I’m over 200 pounds, that’s what I’m the most confident version of myself.”

On getting into shape for the Tron suit: “They do a body scan so they can formulate the suit around you. It’s three-quarters of an inch of foam rubber that fits you like a glove. If you have a belly your scan’s going to have a belly.”

In recent commercials for Tron Legacy there's a quick shot of him shirtless and being clothed by visual effects. I don't expect them to show him naked in the actual movie though, it is rated PG afterall.

I went to watch Tron Legacy today, and I realize I'm preaching to the choir here, but Garrett has such a great ass!


I liked the movie. I wasn't sure what I was going to think. In the press they were going on about how they had taken CGI to the next level, and going on about how realistic Jeff Bridges CGI younger self looked. Saying it looked real. Well, I don't know what you have to be smoking in order for the CGI of Jeff Bridges' younger self to look real, because it was obvious from the first clip I saw that it didn't look real at all.

That aside, it was lightyears ahead of the CGI from the first Tron, and I'd go see it again, and not just for Garrett and his fine ass, although I'll admit he's part of it.
