There's a long time between getting to the venue and when Gaga hits the stage. They can watch each other until her show starts.

You're totally right. She takes a long time to get onto the stage.

I'm going to her tour next year.

I heard her tour will gross around 200 million after it ends. That's impressive. More than britney's.

I didn't dress up for either concert that I went to, but seriously you could probably go naked and no one would care.

Diet Coke cans in people's hair, fishnets all over, lots of high heels and underwear, yet also people dressed normally.

Both shows I've seen her at were unbelievable so just go and have a great time!

Oh, and someone in nothing but caution tape, a la this:

I'm beautiful in my way - cause god makes no mistakes - I'm on the right track - baby I was born this way!

The concert I went to people had on everything... Normal clothes to dressy to costume. Lot of girls in heels, so don't wear flip flops or you'll get a heel spike through your foot, or so I've heard ().

There was guy near me that was dressed in a costume similair to lady gaga coming out of the water in the Poker Face video, and he did the Bad Romance dance very well.

    Re: gaga concert gear...

I went when she was here in Chicago (January) and peoples dress was all over the place. It was quite interesting to see some women and men were dressed in various incarnations of her. Others fans were very avant garde, casual, dressy or just downright scandalous. I went for more of a Carnaby Street Goth approach. Purple Dress shirt with a Black double breasted satin vest , black skinny pants, Studded boots and painted black nails. The cool thing was the ushers were dressed as the flying monkeys from the wizard of Oz! And yes she does take a while to come on stage there were about 3 or 4 crappy opening acts. when she did finally come on everyone that was at the bar in the lobby of this venue broke their necks to their seats! There was drama with this venue because she was originally supposed to be at another (Chicago Theatre) we had to act fast and repurchase our tickets , but thats another story. In any event the bitch gives a good show.

This thread has been the most enlightening thing I've read this whole month, I think. I had no idea people got this intentionally tarted up for concerts.

At my most hardcore I wore jeans and a t-shirt to a Collective Soul concert; and boardies and a t-shirt to a day-long festival thing headlined by Metallica. Clearly I'm not trying hard enough!

I wonder what saffers would wear if LG came out here...

Thank goodness the definition of marriage does change over time. Women were originally thought of as property and marriage was originally about an exchange of property.

    Naaa, Just kidding.
Everyone has their own opinions. I really just like her so much because she helped me accept myself in her music video for Alejandro, mostly because I could relate to the video. And I like her as a person too.

^ See I would, but I'm gay and have an aversion to the vag. Thanks for the suggestion though!

In all seriousness, regardless of your feelings towards Gaga as a musician or a person, I find it hard to believe people can legitimately deny her legitimate vocal ability, something that sets her far apart from so many of her counterparts.

    Lady Gaga... so what?

What's the big deal about Lady Gaga? She dresses odd (not even just funky or on the edge, just fucking weird), writes songs that make no sense, (in my opinion) does not sing well and is quite unattractive, from what I've heard she's not a nice person in the slightest and she admits to using hard drugs on a regular basis. I get she's a gay advocate and I appreciate that but I don't understand why so many in the gay community consider her a "Goddess".

    Can someone enlighten me?

Hell no she's not a goddess, but who is? The fact is, she is one of sooo few pop stars who is not only memorable for being who she is and never apologizing for it, but also for having real, legitimate vocal talent, which is abundantly clear in the more powerful ballad versions of her pop songs, or songs like Speechless which is awesome in my opinion. On top of that, her lyricism, if studied just a bit, is at time quite impressive. You don't have to like her, you don't have to understand her, you don't have to agree with her point of view, but please do not say she's not talented because that's just not true. There's a good reason she is where she is today. But hey, that's just how I see it.

Now Ke$ha? That's a whole other hot mess of a story.

She is legitimately talented. and she is pure entertainment...she mixes the celine dion with the britney spears and throws in some ridiculous over the top clothes and behaviour..

It is sort of neat to see someone get famous who went to juliard and worked her ass off in the business for years

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the Lady GaGa character shtick. Meh. I'm not sure it was ever sincerely artsy so much as it was a bizarre gimmick.

HOWEVER, I like her music. In fact, I'm actually partial to the acoustic or stripped arrangements of her songs--I feel they better illustrate her relevance and musical talent.

her deal is that if a gay club doesn't throw in at least one remix of her songs, that club is shit. Her songs are dance-able, entertaining, and better than most top hits at the moment.

She does what she does. She wears what she wants. 10 years from now, she will be like the Madonna of today. A legend. An icon.

I get she's a gay advocate and I appreciate that but I don't understand why so many in the gay community consider her a "Goddess".

    Can someone enlighten me?
Well we can't enlighten you, but we can tell you that you don't have to listen to her. You can tell many of your gay friends that you don't consider her a goddess or even like her and leave it at that.

Trying to enlighten you to the appeal that she is a good performer, and a talented singer (check acoustic tracks for clarity as posted throughout this thread) would be useless if you've made up your mind that you want nothing to do with her.

Really it comes down to opinion and taste, if you have developed the opinion that she's not worth the listen to; you won't listen to her. If her music doesn't appeal to you, you won't listen.

So don't try to understand it, just go with flow. When you're in the club and she comes on just jam to it. Just as I would do Ke$ha even though I hate her.

she sings very good live and her songs are very good, she's a good entertainer too, i think if if she wouldn't dree like that she wouldn't be as huge as she is now, she would compose songs for Britney etc.
well she is a very talented artist and she can actually sing, i don't believe she is a goddess but she is way better than some other pop icons these days.
about the drugs she says she uses well i don't believe she uses a lot she just tries to be talk of the town with one way or another....
