Its not really a strategy...its just how radio works sometimes with songs that arent considered necessarily radio friendly. However moving slow is fine...tons of songs move slow in the beginning. Rolling in the Deep, Moves Like Jagger, Girl on Fire, Home, etc.

She has an extremely limited belting range and horrible technique, which has made her live singing an unbearable collection of choked bellows and agonized yelps. Instead of going about the world behaving as if she were above hard work, she should dedicate a couple of years to studying and properly developing and her instrument, and then come back being able to properly sing in the lower and mid-upper ranges, which she definitely cannot (and could never) do.

Second, her material has been sub-standard for years. 'Back to Basics' was extremely uneven, 'Bionic' was a mess and 'Lotus' has dated and mostly unmemorable material. Maybe working with actually talented songwriters and producers would improve her chances of selling records and filling venues again, because she would actually be delivering good quality material. Maybe running back to Linda Perry is in order for her. As things stand right now, she will be a nostalgia act before she reaches the age of 35.

I really like her tone, but she appears to be lost and needs to stop thinking that everything she does is amazing for the sole fact of being sung by her. Also, she needs to start promoting the very few decent songs she's released so far... However, I have noticed that people seem to be a bit tired of her, which is surprising, since she only releases an album every three or four years, in average. Anyway, good luck to her! She definitely needs it.

You lost me at that first sentence. Lotus might be selling low but this is in no shape of form a low point of her career. She got paid almost 30 million to be sitting in a chair for 2 seasons...Plus her perfumes sell really good. I wouldn't call it a low point, I just think she's focusing more on other activities besides music.

Christina performed Just a Fool TWICE. Once on the Voice (which has higher ratings than X Factor), once on Ellen. Each led to HUGE increases in Itunes sales. But it hasnt had that longevity because RADIO has BARELY played it. Again your point is invalid.

Adele's fame will come and go just like everyone else's. She's "new" and made a terrific sophomore album. Who knows if this will last and carry over into her third album. She will not always be as big as she is now. Although her debut single from her debut album was a hit, 19 did not do really well until 21 came around and people realized she had an album out before that and started buying 19 too.

Kelly Clarkson's biggest strength comes from her vocal consistency, versatility, and longevity. She started 10 years ago, many of the artists doing well back then (Christina included) are not doing as well now, but Kelly's latest studio album (Stronger) managed to go Platinum, her lowest selling album (My December) also went Platinum, and all her albums are certified Platinum or Multi Platinum in the US.

Like I said the general public aren't fucking retarded. If a song is good it eventually gets some sort of recognition. This would again explain why, to the above poster, that Catch My Breath is now catching on in airplay. It's uniquely Kelly. It goes back to her Breakaway sound. Nobody else out there would sound good singing it. My point about Your Body is that it's so generic they could have just called it "Anonymous - Your Body". It does Christina NO justice.

IMO radio spins are weighed too heavily in Hot 100 rankings. another example: Gangnam style outsells Maroon 5's One More Night by a bunch yet is blocked from the top spot because RADIO PROGRAMMERS decided not to spin it and not because the general public wouldnt have ate that shit up if they heard it on the radio.

We will just have to agree to disagree on YB being generic or not. However, YB regardless of whether it was generic could have become a hit if it was played properly.

I loved her retro style a few years back, with "Ain't No Other Man" and "Candyman" but it's been such a long time from her last really great effort, "Stripped".
