Star is right dude. hell, Ive been around a bit here and we are lazy, not always right there ready to jump.

I figure I am lucky if 1 in 20-30 of my posts get an acknowledgement let alone dialogue. That was a shock...I mean like, I am witty, urbane, charming, caring and a tad sarcastic/caustic at times (just enough to keep things lively) Dont give up, just keep slogging threading and posting...every once in a while something will catch the eye of one of us slugs and then the fun can begin

But a lot more guys look at this forum than say hot topics and that bullshit hick forum that passes as current events combined. People just rather look and read, probably because a lot of guys are still in the back of that closet.

Part of it probably also has to do with the moderators. When you have a prick for a teacher you are always less inclined to participate and a lot of the moderators are assholes. They attack members with impunity and even try to use their position to gain sexual favors. We'll see if new management makes a difference.

I fear that the reason this site is dead well not dead maybe just very "cold" is that it has lost the support of the many members who with the explosion of "Sponsors" and the brash commercialization of JUB who in my humble opinion have a great deal more sway with the powers that be here at JUB the the common members. Remember this site started out as a simple forum basically with just the support of its members.

This commercialization, censorship and the nastiness that has come with it has caused many of us members who were once very active contributors to this site to become "lurkers" again here.

When one can not voice their opinions of certain porn stars or sites without fear of being banned, punished by JUB and/or ridiculed by new members who join JUB just to support and defend their "Golden Calf" site...That this was bound to happen. While I understand that this was bound to occur and have no aminosity towards JUB or their staff (i understand they need to make money to keep this site going)... this has caused many of us just to become lurkers. This site started has a place where men could voice their opinions no matter how weird, strange or deprived without fear of judgement...(well maybe a judgement) but the jousting between members was always light-hearted and non personal (again well prolly most of the time).

Now one faces ridicule, personal attacks and down right nastiness.

This in my humble opinion is why this site is dead.

Well, for a “dead site” JUB certainly attracts a helluva lot of viewers. As I write, there are well over a thousand people scanning the forums and posting.

Before JUB, I belonged to the Manshots forum, the Falcon forum, the RadVideo forum (all since defunct) and the ATKOL forum (still do, with that one) and those sites could never attract even a small percentage of the traffic JUB can boast.

I’m really not sure why the o/p is complaining - JUB is the brand leader and the variety on these boards is second to none. It’s the biggest and the best, and this deserves accolades not brickbats.

Well...this thread (your thread) at this point, has 947 views. I don't see that as a dead forum. (although I see your thread fading fast )

I think most guys that view this forum aren't really looking for conversations, but rather to see something that can get them off.

You know I still hesitate to call the "forum" dead - if its all of JUB you are referring to (and not simply Hot Men and Gay porn).

The quality of the posts has been a bit uneven lately- but thats not very unlike any other time that JUB functioned - (and I have been here a bit despite my post count).

We've had a share of violent fights and sulks - and the firmest of friendships too.
Conversation often sparkled - and folks genuinely cared about each other in the formative years.
Its that character of JUB that's definitely withered.

But we've benefitted from a possibly younger, more assertive, less closeted mass of members - who take things in their stride, don't get overly sentimental - and just use this space as one more outlet for the gay side of their personalities ... which by the way is what the forums have always been about.

Constructive criticism is always valid but all too often posts take on the form of an unwarranted attack and it is those that are cause for concern. Unless some kind of moderation is made we can end up with all out verbal warfare and there is enough violence in the real world without it spilling over into these forums.

As for lurkers - they lurk here for kicks and are either too lazy or too scared to offer a valid contribution to the site.
