Love her. Bulletproof is definitely her best song, but the rest of the album is pretty decent too.
This song is stuck in my head for 2 weeks now.
She's alright, get's boring quickly though.
It's very stressful being an Other, Jack.
I like them. I hate that everyone is now saying people are doing that hair style... Chinese/japanese people have been doing it for years. I agree with the above poster, its ok, but got boring pretty quick as it was on every second of the day.
Quicksand is my favorite song by La Roux. Bulletproof is cute, but for me it can be a little annoying at times, sort of grating too. Has a cute little hook though.
Love La Roux. Bulletproof is definetely one of my fav songs of the year.

Bulletproof finally hits the Top 40 on the Billboard TOP 100 in the US in it's 7th week.
This was just recently released in the US? I was wondering why the video was in rotation and on the countdown when it's older than the hills.
La Roux Climbs Charts With 'Bulletproof' Single
London synth-pop duo La Roux-consisting of frontwoman Elly Jackson and producer Ben Langmaid-has been posting gains on Billboard's charts in recent weeks, thanks to its single, "Bulletproof." The perky number is bulleted at No. 29 on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart, rises 35-29 on Hot Digital Songs and gives the act its first top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, as it climbs 48-36.
Initially a hit in the United Kingdom, where it debuted atop the Official Charts Co.'s singles list in June 2009, the Big Life/Polydor/Cherrytree/Interscope song first reached a U.S. Billboard chart Aug. 1, 2009, when it bowed at No. 38 on Hot Dance Club Songs. It ultimately hit No. 1 in September but didn't cross over to Mainstream Top 40 until this year, when it entered the March 20 chart at No. 37. Since then, thanks to the act's radio support, touring and TV appearances (including "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "Last Call With Carson Daly"), both "Bulletproof" and the act's self-titled album have seen steady sales gains.
"Bulletproof" has shifted 406,000 digital downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while its album has sold 47,000. This week, the latter notches its best sales week yet, with 3,000 (up 34%). It re-enters the Billboard 200 at No. 187 and climbs to a new peak on Top Heatseekers Albums at No. 6.

Saw them in January.....such a fun show...i was DEAD tired but I was still dancing...lol
and this chick jumped up on the stage and snapped a pic with her with a giant inflatable mic and like a huge crown or something....Elly was HILARIOUS when she jumped off the stage...."Freakin' security at these club shows...come on! Don't any of the rest of you fuckin' think about doing that or I'll kick your ass!".....then she burst out laughing and was like "For real what was that? haha...she's got some balls"
it was hilarious...lol
Loved Bulletproof too, was a semi-hit on our New Zealand charts.
Although I've never been fond of her hairstyle.
Life is a celebration. So celebrate, and live!

Kanye West Growls Through La Roux’s “In For The Kill” Remix
Elly Jackson and Kanye West share a moment on set of the video for La Roux’s new single “In For The Kill”, and EW Music Mix got their hands on the remix of the song, featuring an amplified beat and West dropping a verse. (This is certainly a case of Kanye and Elly scratching one another’s backs, as La Roux will guest on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.) Hear the tweaked tune below and tell us if it’s as good as what we get from ‘Ye every G.O.O.D. Friday.
We’re digging the extra drum beats added to the original track, but we are really not feeling Kanye’s contribution to this mix. There’s an uncomfortable amount of grunting and weird noises coming from the rapper, and his verses just feel rushed and sloppier than what we know he’s capable of.
Could Kanye actually be out of rhymes? We certainly wouldn’t blame him for using all his best bon mots for his album, as well as the eight (and counting!) free tracks he’s released the past few months.
La Roux Prepping Nile Rodgers Inspired Second Album
UK synth-pop duo La Roux will release their second album in May or June, according to Mojo.
From a piece in the magazine’s new issue, the duo of Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid – who signed to Polydor for the release of their last album in 2008, following the success of single ‘Quicksand’ – reveal that the new album is being recorded in a converted barn in Devon, which Jackson describes as having “its own climate. Surrounded by geese and otters.”
As far as how the album’s likely to sound, it’s apparently heavily synth-based, with the pair “finally getting to grips” with a Roland Jupiter-8 that features prominently, and is particularly inspired by Chic’s Nile Rodgers – now working with Daft Punk – and “rare disco”. A title for the record hasn’t been decided yet, but the pair are looking for one that doesn’t “make [them] sound like pretentious wankers.”
new music by la roux - thats good news!
I heard they were going to do Coachella, but had to drop out. Too bad.
I am excited to hear they are making new music though.
La Roux - Let Me Down Gently
The U.K. singer returns with a bold new look and a thrilling new sound on "Trouble in Paradise."
As she glides into an East London photo studio, the first thing you notice about Elly Jackson, better-known as British electro-pop artist La Roux, is invariably her radiant auburn hair and its new style.
Shorn of the gravity-defying, Ed Grimley-like quiff -- or "iced gem," as she jokingly calls it -- that the singer (whose stage name is mangled French for "red-haired one") wore at the time of her 2009 breakthrough, Jackson's hair has been cropped into an equally eye-catching relaxed wave, dyed multiple shades of vibrant red.
After voice issues and fatigue prompted the 26-year-old to spend the last three years mostly out of the public eye (more on that later), it makes for a startling, semi-androgynous reintroduction that, complemented by her porcelain complexion and glass-cutting cheekbones, evokes a cross between a young Tilda Swinton and David Bowie circa "The Man Who Fell to Earth."
Uptight Downtown is taken from the album 'Trouble In Paradise'.
