The show needs to stop with the guest stars. It's becoming bloated. Hopefully the rumors about an all Gaga show are false.
In ten years time people are going to look back at this show and cringe.
Too many guest stars, too many main and supporting characters that aren't really fleshed out, horrible episode numbers and at times some songs are just flat out wrong for the episode/person singing it.
'Gives You Hell' by AAR performed by Rachel, anyone? Actually that whole Hell-O episode was a hot fucking mess.
They need to prioritize how and where they're wanting to go with the show. For every two episode that focus on the plot and have good musical numbers in them have an episode where they focus on the building supporting characters/an all out episode dedicated to a certain artist, group or movie that has historical significance to the broadway stage and music.
- Grease
- Saturday Night Fever
- Hairspray
- Fame
- Rent
I don't know, the ideas on the show just seem so scattered and I'm beginning to dislike all of it because it's main focus is being a 'satirical' show.
I see this going down the same path that Ugly Betty did. All the accolades during the first few seasons and then the series just turning to shit because it never really had any proper direction.
^I agree with the Ugly Betty comparison but I doubt it will last 4 seasons like Betty did.
In terms of the songs, it seems like the creators want certain songs in an episode and just throw them in and sloppily build a storyline around it. But there's no cohesive storyline for the season. Mr. Schue and Sue constantly fighting over every little thing is getting old and taking up too much of the show. The first few episodes were good because Sue was used sparingly. Now every day it's a new scheme. The show is really Sue's schemes with some songs thrown around it.
Don't watch much TV but the Madonna episode was great.
Eh...I think it will make four seasons. Beyond that it can't exist anyway, since most of the stars are 'freshmen' in high school, which is only four years as we all know.
Eh. Not my favorite episode, but I love Jane Lynch.
my least favorite part of the show is when Mr. Schue sings a song....it's the cheesiest part ever....last night's Ice Ice Baby....and for some reason his songs always sound wayyyy more recorded then the other numbers....and his horribly lame dance moves
Last night's episode was great. It had a perfect balance of humor, plot and music... finally.
LoL @ "I'm going to buy you a teeny tiny diaper because your chin looks like a baby's ass."

The only good thing about last night's mess of an episode was the "Physical" video. Rachel's "Bad Reputation" seemed like it was the worst piece of shit Ive ever seen and seemed to last forever. The pilot they showed last summer had the perfect balance. This is just a mess.
Great show last night. I like it when they show Sue with human feelings. The character is such a bitch it gets old. Loved the songs and Mr. Shue was super. The show is terrific.
Both of Lea's numbers were fantastic. I loved the Johnny Don't Run film, but Total Eclipse Of The Heart was just phenominal.
And, yes, the Let's Get Physical number was out of context and too long, but I still enjoyed it. Jane is quite a good singer.
The You Can't Touch It number in the library was one of the funniest they've ever done.
"I'm chanting even as we speak, sweetie!"
This show makes me hate Lea Michele. Way too much Rachel. if it was the Rachel show it would be cool. But it is supposed to be about the Glee Club or so I thought.
before this season aired, i had never seen glee. now i can't seem to get enough, i do agree with some of the comments that they need to focus more on a direction, i mean i love sue sylvester, but if every episode consists of her evil maniacal quests to rid of glee club, i'm afraid it's going to get old..hopefully they'll find their footing and the show will be an even greater sucess than it is now!
I would not mind if the show was just Rachel and Brittany.....and Sue thrown in there.
I read on EW.com that Brittany and Santana will be becoming fulltime cast members next season which means more of them!
I feel bad for the black guy and the asian guy.....sorry don't know their names...or if they even have names on the show. They are the only members of the Glee Club that don't have SOME sort of background story
LOVE this show.
HATED last night's episode.
What a mess. The show is normally contrived, but last night took the cake.
The scene with Emma in the teacher's lounge was absolutely uncomfortable to watch--what were we supposed to feel during that? It just came off as awkward, and it made her look incredibly stupid to be so manipulated.
Will's smugness was in top form last night, and the only saving grace was his scene with Quinn towards the end. Dianne Agron is consistently one of the best parts of this show. Her character is multi-dimensional, and the actress is interesting and incredibly talented.
Brittany saves any scene she is in, including the amazingly lame plotting scene where the c-listers are planning to be bad. I thought the library gag was embarrassing.
As was the Run, Joey, Run segment and the Physical segment. Really? That's what they brought a star like Olivia Newton John on for? And as BlackSyringe pointed out, the autotuning on Sue in that number was the worst the show has ever done.
With Run, Joey, Run, it didn't even make sense why we were watching all three males in the video until afterward. And there was no emotional honesty behind all three guys feeling so used and betrayed. She had them in a fucking video--she didn't have sex with them. If they wanted us to feel a little of the characters' hurt feelings, then we should have seen her plotting and manipulating all three boys. The power of the ending depended on the feelings coming out of this scene, and it was undermined by how ridiculous their reactions were.
Worst episode of the show so far. Every show has a bad one now and then--they better not let this become a habit.
I love this show, but TBH, I'd probably like it more if you took out the singing and it was centered around Sue and the Cheerios (with Diana, because she's amazing and drop dead beautiful, and Kurt because I want to be him IRL)
"killing a man should take long enough for one's conscience to get in the way."
YESSSSSSSSSSS Glee is finally back to its old self after those 2 back to back weeks of crap
Its not 100% back because i needed more Sue but it sure is on its way.
Kurt looked hot as a boy and the "Boy Is Mine" number was perfection, i loved it.
Congrats Rihanna on your 12th number 1![]()
For some unknown reason it looks as if the producers are taking the 'drama' angle as of late. I guess they fail to realize that comedies (unless black) don't need to be taken seriously. They're trying to humanize caricatures and it's coming off as awkward.
Oh, because he isn't usually one?Editors horribly failed on the Brandy/Monica bit...Santana was lip-syncing and they didn't match the vocals to the mouth movement.
![]()
"Jesses Girl" was some good stuff too but i think Kurts solo was the highlight; So much emotion, so much power, i felt what he was feeling and i even clapped afterwards lol. The actor could probably use this episode for Emmy consideration.
Congrats Rihanna on your 12th number 1![]()
Pretty good episode tonight. Puck was hilarious. Also, I loved the scenes with Kurt and his dad. Kurt's solo was the highlight of the episode. Ooh, and "The Boy is Mine."
LoL @ Rachel's shitty version of "The Climb" sounding better than Miley's.
- S a l e m i t e -
This episode was pretty damn funny
"You got more curves than a Nissan commercial"
-"What do boys lips taste like"
-"Dip. For the most part dip, sometimes burgers, sometimes my armpits. "
"So you listen to showtunes, that doesn't mean you're gay, that means you're horrible"
I was mesmerized by Kurt's take on Rose's Turn. He needs to be nominated for an Emmy. The scenes with his father are the best drama in the show.
So, it appears many of us may have been right to suspect that Idina Menzel's character is Rachel's birth mother.
"I'm chanting even as we speak, sweetie!"
I really can't stand Kurt. His dad is totally supportive of everything he does and hhe's still being a whiny little bitch. Finn's dad died when he was a baby. Kurt should stop being selfish. It would be one thing is his dad had a bad relationship with him, but he doesnt. So Kurt's behavior just doesnt make any sense.
Puck is still kinda hot but w/o the mohawk he is MUCH less hot. It's incredible what a difference that hair makes.
Although I prefer to forget the whole Let's Get Physical episode, I'm loving Glee so much these days. And last night's episode was stunning.
Puck (and others) had so many great lines. Great to see Mercedes get more spotlight. And Kurt was miraculous. I don't know how this show actually gets broadcast, because I don't expect such good things on TV.
If it doesn't make it past another season, it's not because the show is a failure but because the TV viewing audience is full of simpletons. There have been many wonderful shows that couldn't get ratings.
Kurt and his dad - and the creators - deserve kudos for their big scene last night. And how great is it that the emotional core of this show about high schoolers is so often about the connection between a parent and child, instead of only the usual teen dramas?
Other than that he's a teenager and not the Buddha.
People often do things that aren't logical, that aren't thoughtful and don't serve them well. And teenagers more than most. They're just figuring this stuff out.
I think that's kind of the point of the show, and fiction in general.![]()
You know I seriously I'm doubting the singing ability of the cast. When Kristin came back Mr Shue actually sung because he was sining with ba broadway star he's probably used to sining with. The style matched his voice, don't get me wrong people should test there vocal range or sing a song for the laugh like him rapping lol.
Artie seriously u know he's lip synching bad, Finn and Rachel's ott singing. WTF is comming out of Kurts mouth it causes my ears to bleed.
OK I know its meant to be OTT and Rachel and others are charactures but seriously Popular was never this bad. I like Sue and I'll watch for her and Will as I think he's hot but seriously I think it needs pulled back a wee bit to reality. I agree songs just don't fit although I'd love to see Kurt do I don't feel like dancing lol. Why do we need video of the week just let them sing naturally seriously last week when Rachal sang Total Eclipse of the Heart was painful to watch had she just stood there breaking her heart while singing it would have worked so much better.
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
obvious spoilers, but the 3rd Glee soundtrack was leaked online late last week and contains songs from up-coming episodes.
Idina Menzel doing "Poker Face" is pretty awesome. I like it almost as much as Lady Gaga's own acoustic version of the song ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0WY2dVUyyY )
"killing a man should take long enough for one's conscience to get in the way."
Glee's version of "Bad Romance" sucks shit.
Life is a celebration. So celebrate, and live!
Tonight's episode may have been lacking in humor, but I think it was the strongest episode yet. I liked the focus on Artie and Tina. I loved when Quinn put her hand on Artie's shoulder at the end. Great episode.
And wonderfully funny that the gay guest star's character proposed angry sex to the lesbian star's character.![]()
OMG, I luved the episode! How awesome was I Dreamed a Dream?
"I Dreamed A Dream" was amazing.![]()
we all knew Idina was going to be Lea's mom, everyone always taked about how much they look alike...
Was it just me or were you guys rooting for Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris to get it on? Those two have really good chemistry and I loved their version of Dream ON.
Good Episode all around
great episode
I loved "I Dreamed A Dream." Gorgeous.
LoL @ Artie's dream sequence flash mob in the mall.
- S a l e m i t e -
This was a good one finally. NPH and Matt did have sexual chemistry. i thought they would get it on too. Especially at the end of their song when they knelt back to back. Too bad Matt is straight.
So much better than the last couple of weeks...I Dreamed a Dream was the best song since Don't Rain On My Parade, in my opinion. And Matthew Morrison was so hot in the episode, he must have a switch or something he can turn on.I'll buy his CD when it comes out!
I would not be surprised if Ryan Murphy pulled a fast one and is just making Idina appear as Rachel's mother to toy with her head before the regional.
EDIT: Oh sweet Jesus I just listened to the Bad Romance cover...I'm embarrassed for the creator of AutoTune, and the editors of the show's music.
blacksyringe
Well we finally found out the name of the other Asian. I think that he doesn't sing at all, just dances. Anyone know otherwise? I can just tell since he is the worst lip syncher ever.

I feel like we already knew his name....but they just said it clearer this time.
but let's talk about the writer's limited Asian last name selection...both Asian characters, Tina and Mike, have the last name Chang
according to IMDB the Black kid that never has any lines has a name...which I never knew that one...Matt Rutherford.
Chang is a very common family name for both the chinese & koreans, so I`m not too bother by it.
Last nights was probably one of the best episodes so far, and I'm surprised I'm saying it since it skipped out on a lot of the trademark humour. Nonetheless, I can see an actual progression on the overlying plot finally! NPH forever!
omg i think i found the most beautiful song ever to add to the series,
