I think the writers and producers tried too hard.
Still my favorite show though.

"Dolphins are gay sharks"![]()
Loving this show. Getting bored and decided to rent the season of Glee since one of my girl friends kept going on about it. And I do like musicals.
My only wish that Mr. Schue would do more slow songs/ballads. I loved Endless Love and that one song he sang in the beginning.
I love this epsiode with Madonna songs, MUCH better than last week!
^ I agree!

SiriusXM 11am to 3 EST
My favorite character after Kurt is Britney.
And that's because
- She's so on into her own world
- She's so Bi.
Last night's Madona show sucked.
Loved this weeks episode!
Especially the Like A Prayer number.
She is fast becomming my fav character after Sue seriously, the only thing is I forgot her name lol. I'm so used to calling her and the other one the cheerleaders who don't speak lol. Now she's getting more lines I need to lear her name lol.
Anyway Vocal Adreniline are EVIL! EVIL! boo to them.![]()
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
Now that Ugly Betty is gone, this is my favorite hour long show on TV.
I just wish I could get over the fact that Rachel, Finn and Puck look too old to be in college, let alone high school.
"I'm chanting even as we speak, sweetie!"
I believe Cory Monteith(Finn) and Mark Salling(Puck) are 27,28...as entertaining as Glee is,can you imagine if it lasts seven seasons how ridiculous they'll look...how long do you keep the setting in high school when by the end of its run most of the main cast may be well into their thirties? It's the only real jarring note,so to speak, about the show.
Amazing things ahead for the Mets ....hosts of the MLB All Star Game in 2013
I Love Sue!!

Sue doing Vogue for anyone who has to wait lol she can sing.
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
It was a million times better than last week's episode. Spoilers...
I love that on Sue's birthday True Blue was released, she dyed her hair blonde with napalm and other household chemicals causing her to significantly age when she's actually 29 and that her parents were famous Nazi hunters. Oh, and the fact that she wanted to send music/theater kids to NYC with 35$ each.
Jane Lynch delivers her lines with such conviction.![]()
I thought Idina looked good. She also looked like she could be Rachel's sister.
Jesse seems really gay. I think he and Rachel have the most forced, unnatural chemistry. His character just came outta nowhere and now all of a sudden he's the love of Rachel's life.
I still dont get how after everything, everyone in Glee is still so horrible to Rachel.
I liked the episode where the show shed like on the lack of visibility of the minority Glee members. But then they made all the minority members completely invisible right after that. They only include Mercedes in the most random way. Why the hell would Kurt and Mercedes be interested in giving Sue a makeover? And Santana wants to fuck Finn?
I dont mind the actors real ages. It's not like they look super old. This happens all the time. The actors in 90210 were much older than their characters. Stacey Dash was in her 30s when she played Dionne in Clueless. It's called acting. If people didnt know their real age no one would be making a big deal.
Me too. I think she's hot.
It seems forced because he's a spy.Jesse seems really gay. I think he and Rachel have the most forced, unnatural chemistry. His character just came outta nowhere and now all of a sudden he's the love of Rachel's life.
Kurt and Mercedes gave Sue a makeover in exchange for use of The Cheerios in their video. They've also gained starring roles in the squad, as a result. Why the hell would Kurt and Mercedes be interested in giving Sue a makeover? And Santana wants to fuck Finn?
Santana fucked Finn to meet Sue's requirements of dating a younger guy.
Idina looks like Jennifer Connelly's (sp?) sister. Is Idina going to be Rachels surrogate mtoher?
This show is very entertaining, and I watch it more for the funnies than the songs tbh. Jane Lynch needs an award.
Also, to the person that said Rachel looked too old to be in high school - they actually showed a quick glimpse of the actress's high school photo on the news somewhere and she looks exactly the same.

Yea it prolly is the theater thing. I didnt realize he was a broadway actor. I was wondering why he was listed as a special guest star, when Ive never seen him before.i'm not a huge musical person. I like the random song numbers on Glee in small doses. But this episode seemed to be musical number after musical number. So for me, it was too much.
No I understand why they did these things in the context of this episode. But it seemed like such random things to do for their characters imo.
My favourite part was right after Kurt and Mercedes' performance with the Cheerios, and Sue said "Listen here future centre square" LMAO I nearly died when I heard that
tonight's episode was horrible...soooo boring...sooooooooo cheesy
As someone who has been watching Glee from day one tonight was like a different show. Something was just way off. Yes i laughed a couple times; but the overall cohesive magic wasn't there. Some parts of the episode i even tuned out and wanted it to stop.
This is very unfortunate given its still season one. So if the writers cant sustain an entire season what hope is there for the future?
To be honest though the early episodes were so awesome that i questioned whether the writers would be able to keep it up and tonight proved they are having serious trouble.
Hopefully this was just a one off episode and subsequent eppys will get back on track.
Congrats Rihanna on your 12th number 1![]()
Worst episode ever!
What the hell was with the choice of songs?
I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

It was good but it wasn't Glee. Total change in tone, musical numbers and character analysis. It was like...a poor Six Feet Under episode with music tossed in.
I understand the reasoning behind such an episode, but they don't have to be dramatic to portray good character...and Kurt's whole "I am not a boy" bit has been annoying for a while now, even more-so now that the writers are actually taking this caricature seriously. I switched to The Mentalist whenever he started singing. I'm guessing when he sings Bad Romance with the girls...that will be the cherry on top.
The problem with tonight's episode was the lack of balance. It was too heavy.
Last week's episode was full of music and flash -- no characterization at all. Cut to this week's episode and suddenly tears and snot are flying all over the place. It was like a melodramatic after-school special. And when did Quinn become such a saint?
I enjoyed the episode... but a little more humor would've added some much needed balance.

The best part of the episode was when Puck mouthed to Finn "Are you gay?"
Other than that it blew. I think the creator is just given too much freedom. It's like he has on every single broadway actor to guest star.
There's too many damn guest stars. The kids have the most minimal storylines. It's all about Mr. Shue, Sue, and the guest star of the week. Since the return from hiatus there's barely any Puck.
Kurt is the most annoying character. He's getting harder and harder to sympathize with. He's awful to Rachel for no reason. And the Finn thing is ridiculous. He's so manipulative and predatory. All the things ignorant straight people think of gays. Here Finn is this straight guy just trying to be Kurt's friend and Kurt is constantly trying to "turn him gay" and trick him into being with him.
When did that happen? I missed it.

I think this will be what kills the show.

The bolded part is what really gets me. All of the characters are stereotypes, which is fine, but Kurt seems to be a different type of stereotype. All of the characters are the type of stereotype that “most people” would hold. Kurt as a stereotype seems to be the type that only phobes would believe to be true.
The majority of people don’t think all cheerleaders are airheads or cutthroat bitches.
The majority of people don’t think all jocks are complete assholes or dimwitted.
The majority of people don’t think all black female vocalists are plus sized, loudmouthed, belting divas.
Kurt on the other hand is played out as the exact type of gay guy that phobes teach one another about.
For the most part it’s not even seen as a stereotype anymore, but has queer phobic thoughts. Society as a whole doesn’t think this way much anymore.
I guess I am just saying that all stereotypes are based on ignorant biases and thoughts. My displeasure though is with the fact that all of the characters are “soft” stereotypes, but Kurt. He is a “hard” stereotype. His character doesn’t fit with the other characters anymore. They changed him too much.
I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

Based just on the last three episodes: If you were to have only seen the last three episodes would you still be a fan of the show?
I doubt I would. I had a real hard time trying to watch last night.
I couldn't get my mind off you all day.

I don't mind that it wasn't centered around Rachel...and I love Krsten...but I don't care about her storyline...she's not a full time cast member...her story really doesn't matter at all to the overall story of the show...why dedicate another show to her?
and the Kurt/Finn story was just lame....it was like reading one of the stories on here about someone trying to have sex with their straight friend...because they're pretty sure there is something between them. No...there isn't...he's straight...you're not....moving him into your room as your stepbrother isn't going to make him gay......lame
Loved this episode.
Today's episode was better than the madonna theme episode.!
Kurt's a teenager... who didn't have that one, hopeless all-consuming crush on a straight guy when they were a kid?
I don't get all the hate for last night's episode. it wasn't the best Glee ever, but I liked it overall even if it was a little Very Special Episode-y at the end.
loved "House is Not a Home" too
I hated the madonna issuelatest episode was rather good though. But maybe it's because I don't like most of the songs anyway, I like this show for the way waaaaay over the top exaggerations and stereotypical characters. And besides all those stereotypes they still manage to bring their message across.
And I love Sue![]()
Check out my very own Body Hair Lovers and Photography Groups!
You're so right. It is just like those stories in the Coming Out forum. But this is especially dumb. Getting your parents to date to get into his pants. What sense does that make? His hissyfit about his dad and Finn bonding was stupid too. His dad is so supportive of him but he shouldnt have to pretend to be into fashion and makeup in order to bond with Kurt. Then in the end Finn realizes he's being selfish and just wants his mom to be happy. But surprise, surprise Kurt is still a bitter Betty.
Ive had little crushes but not once someone has proven to be straight Id throw in the towel. Kurt is fighting with girls over him, trying to sabotage his relationship, shamelessly flirting, constantly trying to seduce him, and serenading him awkwardly and uncomfortably in front of the entire club.
Why not let Kurt have a little dignity
I've really liked all the episodes so far
The Madonna episode was interesting because the lyrics were almost perfect to the story line.
And I enjoyed last night's episode as well...the first half of it kind of angered me because of the whole Kurt/Finn/parents thing, but the second half more than made up for it. I kind of hope their parents don't end up together, but I'll give the writers the benefit of the doubt for now and hope they don't screw it up
But YaY for Glee!Even at its "worst," it and 30 Rock are 10x better than anything on TV imho...
I'm beautiful in my way - cause god makes no mistakes - I'm on the right track - baby I was born this way!
I could see that. It's like "Hey, there's three virgins! Let's do a number with 'Like a Virgin!'"
I think I liked the duet with Rachel and Finn best with "Open Your Heart," only because it seemed fitting because of their situation.
Plus, I also enjoyed "Like A Prayer" at the end![]()

I've listened to 'A House is Not a Home' like a dozen times tonightI love Kurt's voice.
I wish they'd come out with a Kurt fashion line, I'd wear like 80% of his outfits including his cheerio's uniform :P
I liked the episode.
With the dad liking watching sports with a teen jock, that reminded me of my own teen years, but my reaction was the opposite of Kurt's. My dad used to say he always thought a son would like to watch sports with his dad. I am an only child, and cannot fake an interest in things like football. When straight cousins and friends would visit and get into those enthused discussions while watching games, I wasn't jealous at all. I was happy for my dad to have someone to share that interest with.
Last night's episode didn't have cohesiveness? It was about home. Having a place that you call home. Feeling at home in your own body. What home means when it comes to family. Even the kind of home you create in your fantasies and then discover the reality of when you end up getting what you thought you wanted. The kids were kicked out of their "home" in the auditorium. April still hadn't found her home and was trying to shack up/hook up with men to feel at home. Her only true home had been on the school stage, which was clear when she sang at the end. Mercedes didn't feel at home in her body. Quinn lost her home in the Cheerios because of her moment of weakness with Puck--brought about because she was having a day where she felt fat. Will was feeling alone and homeless because for once he was not trying to be the hero to some woman's damsel in distress. Seemed pretty damned cohesive to me.
I thought the scenes between Finn and his mother were excellent; beautifully written and acted. And Kurt? So he is proving to be the "stereotype that phobes like to think we are." So what? Not every gay man breaks the mold. He's a manipulative teenage boy who has a crush--as some pointed out, shake a stick in the Coming Out and Relationships section and you'll hit tales of manipulation far worse that what he's done so far. He also showed depth when he realized how he had added to Mercedes' issues, and his pain at seeing his dad finally light up when talking about something he will never share with him was all too realistic.
I love the show's snarkiness, and I love its heartfelt moments. Last night was a little heavier on the heartfelt, and it showed more heart than most tv series ever summon in a season, much less in one episode.
For those interested here is a poll about glee.

We just had "The Power Of Madonna" episode here in the UK this week. And at one point i actually did forward through one of the songs. Maybe that's because i think 4 Minutes is a hideous song? lol.
I do like the show and it's very entertaining but i am finding myself losing interest since the first episode. One big thing that really annoys me is the over use of Auto Tune on the vocals. I especially notice it when Rachel sings.
I think if it gets to a Third Season that people will start to tire of the show. Unless as a lot of you say here that they change some of the cast. They can't stay in School forever.
60/40...not bad I guess. Probably because they're polling a (predominantly) sexual minority reader base most of the voters will vote 'objectionable' since many have probably at times fallen victim to the gay stereotype bit. The episode was fine in that regard since the show is a mockery of stereotypes but Kurt was fucking creepy. Especially the whole watching them watch basketball at the end through the window...what the fuck...is he mentally ill? Is this kid going to blow up the school on the series finale? I honestly worry about that character whenever I watch the show...
