Ya never know - it's only 5 episodes into the season - a season that just got renewed for 22 total episodes.

I've thought a lot about some things you've mentioned, but the show is just so fucking fun and a blast to watch, that I don't think I care about the minor flubs/details where they should've been like "Um, duh. This doesn't make sense. Nor does this."

I'm more entertained by the fact that I've downloaded 2 songs from Glee on iTunes

And yeah, I was watching the last episode again tonight. Chenoweth did a FANTASTIC job on this show. I really do hope she comes back!
lol I can't help but think in that manner If you can enjoy it as fun more power too it I get too distracted by my frustration with the jumbled plot and the silly and incoherent character motivations. It's not something I think about really. It's just the thoughts that pop into my head while I watch it. like wtf is he doing just last week they sadi xyz. The fact there are only five episodes is just discouraging as it's ALREADY so complicated for no reason. This isn't what the pilot promised me. This isn't scrappy youngsters searching for relevance and refusing to stop believin' and that disappoints me.

The musical number are almost always spot on though. I've listened to more than a few on youtube now and then.

Oh dear. *sits down with a drink* please explain

I just love it all. I don't know why. Probably because I could sing half these songs better???

What are you referring to in terms of xyz? I think they've done a *decent* job with the story plot line. The whole pregnancy thing - yeah, 'lil outta proportion - but it doesn't stop you or I from watching

I read that she signed on to the show as a recurring character, appearing in at least 4 or 5 episodes during the duration of the season. So we'll definitely see more of her.

Sometimes, its just good to watch the show and don't question it. haha. TV is not stressing unless you make it stressful.

Who knows. Will may make some "bad decisions" and get drunk with her one night and sleep with her. We know he nearly idolizes her and what is better than sleeping with your idol? Even better, have her get pregnant.

It doesn't take much to write soap operas.

I think the reason a lot of people like the show is that it combines two of America's favorite pasttime television shows; dramas and variety. Who knows, maybe musical theatre will be relevant again! (no not that Hannah Montana crap)

Nonetheless Chenoweth did land some solid laughs and put on a stunning performance more or less.

Still the pacing and motives of this show are bizarre. It destroys any sense of urgency or depth in character with it. There's just NO continuity.

When Finn wanted to join the football team all hell broke loose and he was outcast from the social hierarchy. He was able to force them to keep him on because they 'needed' him to do well... only to find out a few episodes later the team never wins anything anyway! And then suddenly because their coach made them dance to "Single Ladies" which mysteriously made them better at football half the team, including the loudest basher are on the Glee club?!

Not to mention the Cheerleaders who were sent onto the Glee club as "spies" but after one failed mission are just there? Are they serious about it now? There's been some indication Quinn is but what the hell is up with that? Shouldn't that make the other two she drones pressure her or are they so much of sheep they just do what she says? No way to tell considering they don't have names or lines.

But lets ignore all that and get to the premise of this episode where they need to get Rachel back to win. OK Lea Michele's a fucking amazing singer. I buy this. But then Finn has to get her to come back so he can win a singing scholarship??!! WTF!? An episode ago he was trying to get an athletic scholarship, despite being on the worst team ever, off of Kurt's talent?! How stupid, inconsistent and unoriginal. How about someone else on the team wants her because they want to win for the sake or winning or they like her as a person or they like the way Glee use to be or any number of logical character driven reasons beyond this convoluded garbage! And what's with all these time management issues!? Half the team (including Kurt?) can be on the football team and do Glee, the cheerleaders can do both, Wheels can be in teh seldom mentioned Jazz club but Rachel can't multi-task?

Really this is just shaping up to be one jumbled piece of wasted potential.
I love this show. I will most likely continue enjoying this show as long as I can.

But every word you said here is exactly dead on.

WOW! Please for the love of god add Kristen Chenoweth to the cast! PLEASE! She was fantastic as April and I'm going to say it

    APRIL>>>>>>RACHEL!

Her voice is beautiful, I love her chemistry with Will. Hell Will and April>>>>>>>>>>Will/Emma and Will/Terri. I enjoyed this episode and Finn totally is manipulating Rachel... BTW He sounded pitchy with his singing. FIX IT FINN!

    Still loving Puck...

I really really enjoyed the last performance, MERCEDES absolutely killed that note.... Damn I have chills right now. GLEE COMPLETES ME!

    Just watched this-

Really? Who would have thought of mashing It's My Life and Confession together? They were both iconic songs in their genre and career bests for both Usher and Jon Bon Jovi. Genius!

The only fault in this was Cory Monteith, this is not the first time I thought they casted a wrong person for his character. It was a little uncomfortable to watch his flailing limbs and overworked smile/sneer/grimace. Plus, vocally? There are tonnes of other actors who can act AND sing better than him.

^ a little uncomfortable? lol that was down right bizarre...I disagree listening to it without watching its all very good....but Damn mr. Monteith calm the fuck down! i was thinking the same thing back off the facial expressions a bit, but maybe theres a point to it?...idk...lol

gotta see the new episode tonight now.

also I gotta say...i think mostly the crap Cory Monteith was doing with his feet was annoying me...the weird footstomps and stuff...kickin his foot around... that was awkward lol

Umm...some of the songs are questionable. Apparently Kurt will be singing Wicked's Defying Gravity in episode eight with Rachel, and apparently he will be singing Elphaba's part. Errr...that's kind of unreasonable...if you've never heard the original from the play here it is:

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlMBcTGJ4YM[/ame]

    Now imagine him singing that.

Well, I've just decided to discontinue my watching of this show. I noticed that since the second episode aired a couple weeks ago, I've slowly started watching less and less...trying my best to like it as much as I liked the pilot. I just can't hang on to it. It seems as if they're trying to do something that they aren't executing in a believable manner.

I really agree with a lot of what falconfan says about the show--and his thoughts may very well be the same reasons why I can't bring myself to sit through another episode of Glee.

I hope the rest of you guys enjoy it--but I'll sit this one out.

And another note- that Rachel chick is one annoying piece of work. I don't know if they intentionally write her character in a way that she annoys/irritates viewers, but damn it works! At least IMO.
Someone slip her ass a valium...

Did you catch that the character was on pseudoephedrine? That's the reason he was dancing like that.

Maybe Defying Gravity (Somewhere Out There) from Our Lady Peace? Seems a more likely choice of song for him.

I'd be really happy if they chose this song instead. It's a BEEAUUUTIFUL song, that unfortunately never really took off for them.

I don't live in the US. And normally it takes half a day before someone uploads a new episode of any series on the internet. I've just watched it now, and yeah, now I get that... jerking-like dancing and catatonic expression on his face. Explains lots. Still think he overdid it, though, considering everyone else in the team also took the pill, but no one else looked like he did.

I kind of am over the story plot at this point. It's weak and sloppy, but I watch it for its creativity in reinventing songs that you've never thought could be sang that way, and for its hilarious moments (there are lots of them).

yeah after I started watching episode when Finn was looking all tired.. immediatly thought (then why is he so hyped up at the mash up performance??) and then as soon as the Terri pulled out those pills I was like "thats why!" lol

notice before after "I" was done talking about it ^^^ I said "maybe theres a point to it?? Idk"

i thought it was little odd...and there was a reason...I was right

I think Finn is suppossed to be awkard, during the Golddigger number when Schuster tells him to take the lead, finn remarks that he is still learning to sing and walk at the same time, Granted I think they wrote it cuz Corey is prolly really awkard in real life

    Way too much melodrama!

And I'm starting to dislike more and more characters. (How many villains does one show need?)

The musical numbers weren't all that great this week either.

Will probably give it a week or two before deciding whether or not to drop it from my playlist.

Ugh, and the autotuning last night was horrible. I know they're lip-syncing but damn...hire better sound engineers. Then again this is FOX...

It's still a fun show. It gets ragged on a lot because it's intentionally campy. It's not supposed to have the emotional depth of a drama or the thrills of an action show. I watch for Jane Lynch...I love her as the cheerleading coach.

The last episode was especially horrible.

The show is doing all it can to get in its own way.

More singing! Less contrived and convoluted plot!

How about having the characters improve at singing? And some social issues. But do we really need all these adult love and territory issues? No.

Plus, these twelve gleesters together are losing chemistry---fast. Doesn't help that while they're all tripping on pills the writers are putting the rest of us to sleep.

^ Yeah, the show seems to be taking the direction of following the teachers' lives, and not the students. I hope this direction changes for the sake of the demographic this show is directed toward.

And PLEASE do not call yourself a 'Gleek' if you are a fan. I know it's a portmanteau of 'Glee' and 'geek'...but 'gleek' is an actual word and has a significantly different meaning..., to spit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleeking

    gleek

March 8, 2007 Urban Word of the Day

building up saliva in the salivary glands using some stimulus, like sour food or yawning, and then pressing the tongue upon the glands, causing the saliva to shoot out, usually at an impressive distance.

I pretty much agree with everything you said about yesterday's episode. The only funny thing about it was Terry's "bitch back off my man" scene. Not to mention this show has become a fucking walking billboard for J. Crew. I can tell by their shitty women's collection (as Terry points out).

    I still love this show.

Isn't it just supposed to be entertainment after all?

Anyways, Jane Lynch had some hilarious lines in this week's episode (that I just got caught up to.) Actually, there were several points where I laughed out loud!

"They rejected my idea of corn rows, and everything was just getting too expensive because it involved a lot of erotic feathers..."

Sue Sylvester was on fire last night. I loved "Wheels, Gay Kid, Asian, Other Asian, Aretha, and Shaq." So fucking funny!

Speaking of Asian (or Other Asian), I have a new crush on Mike Chang (possible related to Tina Cohen-Chang?). Maybe it's because he actually got one speaking line, or maybe it was his popping and locking.
Whatever happened to that white dog poop from the '70s?

I love Sue Sylvester...as I mentioned before she's really the only reason I watch the show. If Jane Lynch doesn't get an Emmy I don't know what the committee is smoking.

On a negative note...the auto-tuning for Finn was brutal on No Air. He didn't even sound human.

    Re: Glee! [merged]

    Over the top? Sure.

    Ridiculus script? Of course.

    Exaggerated comedy? Naturally.

Like "Grease" (the movie) for television. Instead of the 50's it's today...sort of.

The one liners are getting to be a riot. It is not traditional comedy. This one has crazy music numbers thrown.

When I thought the writing could not continue, it does. Is it stupid? Yes, and you like it because it is. What a twist.

Just one hour a week when you do not have to be serious or think or even pay all that much attention. Few things on television offer that.

    Re: Glee! [merged]

Well I'm not gonna bother to do episode by episode reactions any longer. It's clear that there's never going to be any consistency in character, motives, or background information and that things will continued to be mangled and mutated around plot lines that appear quirky and fun so that they can continue to dish out amusing one liners and highly entertaining musical numbers.

Which brings me to my thought: What songs would you like to see them do?

I think the Quinn/Rachel story line is just begging to end with "For Good" from Wicked
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtMN3mXmvqU[/ame]

I'd also think any number of characters could pull of the witty and amusing "Secondary Characters" by the under appreciated "[Title of Show]." I think it would be most important for those characters that are always present but virtually invisible like Tina, Wheels, or the football/cheerleader clones. Basically I think it would be nice to here someone else sing now and then and this would be a cute way at it if they decided to add an actual storyline for one or two of them.
    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXN_OuBTAkQ[/ame]

And finally "Once Upon a Time" from "Brooklyn" I think would be a great group number that could echo the feel good sentiments while still reflecting under currents in emotional/relationship dynamics in the group.

Would you prefer Evan and Veronica doing it instead, in the consistent plot line of whores that is RW/RR?

I am still giving Glee the benefit of the doubt. I think it's still an enjoyable and fun show to watch, regardless of the character development - so far.

If Will is such an idiot that he won't realize his wife is pregnant by the end of the season, then yes, I will get pissed.

What I don't understand is how Finn is such an idiot that you cannot get a girl pregnant in a hottub *fingers crossed*

All of Sue's lines in this past episode were fucking hysterical! The show got me laughing in the first 4 minutes per her character, and I've already downloaded 4 songs on iTunes from the Glee cast...

One can cast me as the "gay kid" that Sue did as well! I will sing with them!

I actually got around to watching this week's episode and blacksyringe is spot on. If it is any consolation, Finn (the actor) has had NO musical training at all. Auto-tuner was probably one of the inventions that ruined the music industry (next to the internet). It can make any person's voice sound good.

As for the story, it is was just perfect drama climax. The word is out on Quinn now. The whole underwear fetish was wierd, but it could have been done better. Plain white panties? Yawn, something a little more interesting like a lacy thong or grannie panties. Considering outside context, I would be much more embarrassed if I found some girl's underpants in my locker. Although I don't think it is clearly outlined how Sue knew that they were Rachel's (lets not try and extrapolate any further lmao).

I don't think you will ever see significant character development. It's not a show with depth. Yeah, it has touched on social issues but it's campy...you are not required to think in regards to the show or even plot. It's written 'dumb' which is what makes it entertaining and original on the television scene...the viewer just tunes in then tunes out.

I mean, it's pretty predictable. Quinn will probably miscarry, thereby Terri having a kid is also out the window, Will discovers she was faking it, leaves her etc etc...

It's funny you say that, because when I saw the preview for this past weeks' episode, with Quinn crying in Finn's shoulders, that is exactly what I thought would happen. And, knowing this show, would show her in the shower or something with a look of horror on her face then looking down to see wtf just came out of her...

Regardless of how they do it, I think she will miscarry as well by the end of the season.

I finally got around to watching this week's episode and it was total crap. Even the singing numbers were pretty bad.

It seems like with every passing episode Finn gets more awkward and unattractive and Puck gets hotter and sexier. I liked him and Rachel as a couple.

I too wish they'd focus more on the students in glee and less on the teachers. It's funny when Sue was trying to cause division in glee by splitting up the minority students, when the minority students still get no attention. I dont even know the Asian guy or the black guy's names. I guess they are both athletes but how the hell did they come to be in glee club?

yeah I don't know if they actually have names...I only know the Asian kid as "that kid from Step Up 2" haha.

and we REALLY need to do something about the odd manish looking cheerleader...

I'm looking forward to Jonathan Groff guest-starring (and reuniting with Lea). He's cute, gay, can sing and dance, and if things were different, he'd make an amazing Finn. Hopefully we get to see a lot of Finn jealousy and Rachel actually being happy with another guy if only for a few eps (Rachel and Puck were never gonna be a believable item).

I love this clip of Groff. Pity we only get a brief ass shake at the end.

For those who don't know, Groff will be playing the lead singer of Vocal Adrenaline who becomes a potential love interest for Rachel. And as a sidebar: some of those Vocal Adrenaline performers are hot! More scenes from them please.

So true! I am loving Puck more and more. Especially now that they moved his character forward and gave him air time finally.

Yea I dont think he was intended to be a main character so much but I'm glad he is because he's hot as hell.

He was signed for a full season so I was hoping for more on the character. And now they finally gave him some real air time. I loved it.

I really felt that Puck and Rachel was a much more interesting dynamic than Rachel and Finn. I wish they had taken it more seriously. Finn is pretty much a jackass, stringing Rachel along the way he has. He hasn't shown any care for anyone but himself. We're suppose to think he's a god guy because he's sticking with pregnant Quinn? That aint doing it for me.

I have to agree. Finn and Rachel would be absolutely boring. Rachel and Puck together would be a really cool and very interesting relationship for the show.

Sadly, I have to agree with the writers decision to break them up. It is so obvious who both of them want, and with the baby truly being Puck's, there is just no way.

I want them to develop a relationship for the gay boy though. Possibly even a football player?!? That would be super awesome, and with a show like that, totally doable.

I think they have hinted that the gay guy has eyes for Finn also. But I do hope they find someone else.

As far as Puck and Rachel, Obviously they needed to get broken up. But they could have had them together for longer than one episode.

True...totally agree on that. Seen a bigger dynamic between them and see how Quinn's baby and possibly Finn finding out the real father could ruin their relationship.

Maybe if Glee had better writers (although I do like the current writers) this could have happened.

Yea they're chemistry is surprisingly strong and they simply look hot together. Plus it was sweet when Puck was realizing how awful he and other people are to Rachel. That was my favorite Rachel scene so far.

Sweet, I just read they're bringing Kristin Chenoweth back to the show for a few episodes later in the season. Hopefully it's for regionals, and she's a glee club coach. Wouldn't that be awesome, having her make it on Broadway and telling Rachel she isn't good enough to do that? I can already imagine the hilarious situational irony involved.
