I can't manage to watch that show. There is just something about it that makes me want to throw my TV out the window...
Sweet moment though
I watched the entire ep, just now
As usual, I had to skip certain numbers (can they do an episode without sounding autotuned?). I always imagined original music would make the show more tolerable, but only half the tracks worked for me.
Coach Sylvester's antics have gotten so ridiculous, they're cartoonish.
But holy shit, I love Kurt and Blaine. With them both in a separate school, fairly removed from the other storylines, I could simply just check in on their stories every now and then and ignore the rest of the show.
These guys are already looking like they're in their late 20's, btw. Perhaps a slight problem, moving ahead.
Here's a good article on why this show still matters, even when the writing is absolutely terrible. The best observation:
Then, in the original “Loser Like Me”, New Directions flashed Glee’s trademark “L” sign, which the show has renamed as something cool. And instead of cups full of slush that's usually thrown at the Glee Club, the cups were filled with red confetti and thrown at the audience. This neat moment captured the show’s conceit: taking something ugly and oppressive and turning it into something beautiful and celebratory.
The episode was OK -- Very funny when Santana sang about Sam's mouth and yes that kiss between Kurt and Blaine was long overdue --- Good to see that Rachel isn't rolling over for Quinn and seems to want to continue to fight for Finn -
I'm kind of over this show. I still watch it every week and I enjoy the episodes quite a bit (well... sometimes), but I'm not as enthusiastic about it as I used to be. It doesn't entertain me the way it did the first season and I'm not sure why. I think maybe Ryan Murphy became too aware of the show's popularity and it lost the charm it had when things were done on a slightly smaller scale. Basically, Glee became too big for its britches.
Also, I like Blaine and Kurt separately, but together? Ick.

Yeah I thought that the Regionals performance was weak. When I watched the first one, I had goose bumps on how good it was.
I still like the warblers though, it is a lot better than listening to trouty mouth and Big ass heart. It was just weird.
OK...I know with Sue, they are going for laughs....but she isn't even remotely realistic. Punching the Lt. Gov's wife would send you to jail....throwing dirt and sticks at students- IN SCHOOL, would get you fired....I love Jane Lynch, but I hate Sue...not in the Love to Hate them kind of way- like with JR Ewing- I just hate the character- totally worthless.
Really liked how Kurt stood up to Blaine- over how he sings EVERY song....I've posted several times how Kurt has become a back up singer....I'm beginning to wonder if Murphy has been writing scripts based on online comments lately (certainly couldn't be worse than what they usually write)....Would have been better for Blaine to feel attraction to Kurt because Kurt was seemingly pissed at him/over him getting the spotlight ALL the time- as if Kurt wasn't staring adoringly in his eyes anymore/couldn't be taken for granted made Blaine wake up...the song for a dead bird doing this was hookie.
you all miss the importance of the kiss scene. The positive affect that it will have on gay teens. I hate to get political but I am sure Brian Murphy had that in mind. Since he has been pounding us with the necessity gay teens have to have a support system and to portray these two characters as ok. I don't want to use the word normal.
two things i mind:
where are Rachel's parent's? How come we never see the two guys?
why all of the sudden Kurt's dad is having all of these gay issues when he has always been so understanding?.
2 things happened, Kurt called on him because he wasn't the dad he was supposed to be instead he was being an ass when Blane spent the night because he was too drunk to make it home. he got all uptight when the two kids were being responsible.
And than Blane had to go talk to him at the garage and push him to explain the birds and the Bees to Kurt.
And I think the show is very self-aware (something I really like), see how they always make fun of themselves; Sam's big mouth, Santana's fake boobs (I don't really know if you got surgery but I suppose she did in real life), Mr. Schue's curly hair, how they always save Mercedes to yell the last note at the end of every song lol, and now Blaine trying to still the spotlight from everyone in the Warblers.
I'm still loving this show and was glad we finally got to see a kiss.
Oh, don't get me wrong, most of the gays understand the "importance" of the 'kiss', but you can't deny that Kurt and Blaine have little to no chemistry between the two of them if you have been watching the show as a regular.
Now, Let's say that Blaine serenades Kurt with Sex Bomb by Tom Jones (because as this show lampoons their own obsession with the Top 40, they desperately need some Adult Contemporary) this may take it to a whole other level that viewers would like to see.
No shout outs to Mercedes' "Hell to the No"? Loved that one!
Mercedes' song was GREAT- better than the 2 they won the regionals with.....definitely agree- Kurt/Blaine have very little chemistry, whatever there was was destroyed in the bisexual 'experiment' Blaine went through....
all the press releases said Kathy was playing 'A Sarah Palin' type- even Palin herself chimed in on it and called Griffin a '50 year old hasbeen'...what does that make Palin ...??? But when Kathy said she wasn't a witch on the show- definitely O'Donnell
Chris Colfer said in interviews with Access Hollywood that he was "pleasantly surprised" by how good a kisser Darren Criss was and he rated him a ten. Aww.
and he added that he (himself) would be a 12
Chord Overstreet left me speechless
on the subject of Kurt and Blaine... can't fucking stand them. Kurt has been alternating between creepy and annoying all season, and Blaine is probably the biggest "Mary Sue" I've seen on television in a decade.
it seems obvious that Brian Murphy is just trying to deal with his own high school wish fulfillment on screen and it's not particularly interesting or entertaining to watch.a fictional character with overly idealized and hackneyed mannerisms, lacking noteworthy flaws, and primarily functioning as a wish-fulfillment fantasy for the author or reader. Perhaps the single underlying feature of all characters described as "Mary Sues" is that they are too ostentatious for the audience's taste, or that the author seems to favor the character too highly. The author may seem to push how exceptional and wonderful the "Mary Sue" character is on his or her audience, sometimes leading the audience to dislike or even resent the character fairly quickly; such a character could be described as an "author's pet".
Blaine makes me feel like a homophobe because if we went to high school together, I would have beaten the smug off his face in about 30 seconds :P
I will totally give you that. On video, he's pretty good looking (like in the show). But in a photograph he isn't much of a head-turner. o.O More like a Culkin sibling.
more here (ffwd to the 2:00 minute mark).
Chris Colfer: "But after the first take I was like damn Darren, I need a cigarette now!"
As for the latest episode, I say it's decent.
I like the characters, but Glee's just been lacking. I recently obsessed over Glee videos on youtube yesterday. I think I want to just rewatch the first season when I enjoyed the show more.
I just read this article "Has Glee Jumped The Shark Yet?" and I immediately thought about what I said before about Santana, and how I hated that she's suddenly in love with Britanny and that being the -random- reason why she's such a bitch.
Here's the highlight from the article:
That is exactly what they're doing with Santana and I hate it.You have to have a certain degree of reality for any show to work," begins Wesley Hyatt, author of many TV research books including the upcoming Television's Top 100. But instead, Hyatt says, some of the character storylines are getting sloppy, with people changing their motivations or emotions with seemingly no rhyme or reason other to serve a specific episode.
Kinda sad to jump the shark half way through season 2.....
Former snl star Victoria Jackson insists the show promotes immoral values. She has openly critised the producers for airing a gay kiss in a recent episode.
'In a column for Worldnetdaily the comedian claimed that Glee's creators are guilty of 'shoving the gay thing down [viewers] throats.'
During an appearance on headlines news' Showbiz Tonight' Jackson was questioned as to whether she believed homosexuality was wrong.
"Well, it doesn't matter what I think," she said. "What matters is what the bible says. And i'm really concerned about our country because....secular humanism rules the airwaves, and it's stealing the innocence away from this whole generation of children. My daughter is a teenager and I can't find any show that she can watch."
Jackson continued. "Basically, the bible says that homosexuality is a sin."
She also called on Glee's exec's to encourage teenage viewers to abstain from sexual activity.
"They should have a celibacy campaign and tell kids that 50 per cent of teenagers now have this new STD from oral sex - that's what they should try to be doing instead of trying to make kids gay" she added.'
"blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah my breasts looked great in that movie, didn't they? blah blah blah blah blah i'm so unimportant that i have to pander to religious zealots blah blah blah blah blah"
Victoria Jackson's been playing up the Tea Party values for a while now...a part of me hopes that she's merely "in character" and taking the piss. With comments like "They should have a celibacy campaign ... - that's what they should try to be doing instead of trying to make kids gay", she HAS to be playing it up to shed light on the ignorance of people who actually believe this.
She was on Saturday Night Live, which has always been a left-leaning show. How could she have survived working there if she was this much on the fringe?
...and it's stealing the innocence away from this whole generation of children...
Please bitch, with or without LGBT propaganda your kids would still be as fucked up as they are now. There's this little thing called internet, you know.
Why can't some intelligent celebrity from the left come out and slam Glee for being the hot autotuned mess it is?
"I think Glee does a great service for the LGBT community and today's generation ... but holy shitballs, it really sucks!"
Now that's a campaign I could get behind.
she talks like a baby & an airhead,. who really cares what she thinks. shes bloated & a has-been. (not that her career really ever took off)
I saw her weird interview on television. Is it me, or does she seem a little loony? She did a very poor job of defending her position and seemed to be spaced out. Anyway, I could care less about her opinion.
What a fucking cow.
SNL promotes such high morals and values, doesn't it?
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
Give a man religion, and he'll starve praying for a fish.
I can't take anyone that serious who sounds like a squeaky preteen whore.
Has been hag.
Am so sick and tired of bitches like Victoria Jackson. Shut the fuck up and let us live. If being gay is a "sin" then let God himself deal with us, but otherwise SHUT UP!
Never heard of her .... but I'm guessing that the poor dear almost certainly has the misfortune to suffer from Christianity.
You could tell she was disgusted during the whole interview, because she wasn't being given a chance to talk. By the end, she couldn't wait to get up and get out of there, as she felt she was being given the shaft.
As soon as she held up the Bible for the first time, I thought to myself "Here, we go ... another loony Christian".
Telling it like it is.
Who cares? She's an ugly slob.
I thought her holding the bible should just be good enough. This is the face of the Tea Party. A woman who clearly thinks she still is 10 (hideous bow!!) and I also thinks she can still catch gay.
It's pretty clear that this woman is an idiot.
