I found this, but don't understand any cartoon?
It's not really a cartoon, but a 'provocative' painting that was removed from a university building after one of the staff had complained about it. Saat Kuleshi supposedly means 'clock tower' and also refers to the Turkish man's penis.

I don't know. The cartoonist is in San Diego, see if Giancarlo has an answer.

What's ignorant? The NRA supports the arming of school teachers in schools. The cartoon accurately depicts this.

The NRA supports the exact same thing that President Obama does, and the cartoon is lying about it.

Not the thread to discuss this -- but Obama advocated armed guards in schools as one of his recent 23 executive orders.

Clearly, it's not obvious to the people who are asking or they wouldn't be asking. And half the cartoons here "lie" anyway. You've never ranted about it before.

Perhaps because Rockwell never painted a picture of an idyllic school with a guard in the background, that's why the cartoonist chose to put the gun in the school teacher's hands.

Would you be more satisfied if it was presented like this?

It's still lying, by presenting something the NRA has never advocated.

You cite an article filled with lies to support a lie.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans support what La Pierre has actually said on this.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. A humorous take on the gun ban fears.
Nothing humorous about it -- in the UK and elsewhere, burglars can sue the people into whose homes they have broken if the homeowner tries to defend that home, and those defenders can go to prison.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Really? About 40.2% of the entire US population voted in the 2012 US elections. Are you talking about all Americans, over 18's, or gun owners that agree with La Pierre?

As only 40% of American actually voted, and the almost 50/50 result suggests that approx. 20% of the population made a clear statement about supporting the POTUS and his party. Like wise, only 20% give or take supported the opposition. All the 60% who didn't vote either decided they couldn't be bothered to vote, couldn't, or too young.

Either way, your statement leaves me doubting it's veracity.

    126,838,980/315,393,565 x 100% = 40.2% of the population.

The castle doctrine doesn't apply in the UK?

Wow -- I didn't know the election was about the NRA.

54% of all Americans agree with LaPierre that teachers and/or guards at schools should be armed. 65% of those with school-age children do.
