It's "fortunate" not because of their orientation but their lack of talent. I'd support a gay singer that can actually sing, but the ones they had on the show were just prima donna divas whose egos were more sizeable than their vocal ability and stage presence.

Whats your definition of a queen? To some that just means gay. But to others it can mean a particular type of OTT melodramatic gay.

Surprise, surprise. Adam is so obviously gay that his flamboyance may prove to be his downfall in the end, considering how bothered a lot of people seem to be by even a hint of effeminacy. He's no Danny Noriega, but still...
And God only knows whether or not pictures like the one above will be blown out proportion and Adam will be demonized by ultra-conservatives who think he's an evil homo. I mean, about a week after it came that David Hernandez from last season had danced in a gay club he was ousted. Could have just been his time, though.
Maybe Adam will be second runner up like Clay Aiken and David Archuelta, both of whom I've also always believed like the pipe.

His stage presence is God-awful, that group performance in Hollywood where he did those awkward, jerky moves was nothing short of horrendous. He's overdramatic and undertalented and I'm sad to hear he wasn't eliminated yet, I thought he didn't make it past Hollywood.

Nathaniel just reminds me of any of those by-the-numbers bitchy twinks you run into at the club who need to be dramatic by throwing their hands up in the air and storming out because the bartender attended to you before him. Fucking drama queen, and he has NO talent - the Hollywood audition was atrocious. I don't know how he or that blonde girl got picked over the black girl. They were all bad IMO.

Not to mention they kept him over the other gay guy when they had to audition together for the last chance. The other gay guy had a better voice, but no story. Nathaniel on the other hand comes with drama, attitude and a story.

Just what we need... if I was watching RuPaul's Drag Race. This is fucking American Idol - I don't need theatrics or stories. That is why this show long became a joke.

I'm usually not attracted to effeminate men but there is just something about Adam Lambert. For one thing, he's not super effeminate (unless he's just toning down his inner queen for the show) but I think he's gorgeous and doesn't look bad in drag either. lol. Go figure. and don't get me started on his talent. So far from what Ive seen, he's on a higher level than all of the other contestants.

The hair, the make-up, it's all pretentious. Every time I look at him I want him off my television set! And this was before I even knew he was gay!! The same goes goes for Nathaniel.. the over-the-top theatrics, the phony attitude (like when he tried to console that black chick in his lineup when she got cut), the crying, the clothes, the hair... Christ almighty! This is our representation people!

I don't really care for the other 5 people who have already been selected so I can already tell that this season is going to be a wash-out, unless they bring back some really stellar people in the wildcard week.

Otherwise, these contestants (beside Kris) were all preselected by the producers, they all got editing and storylines from the get go, what a surprise that they all made it to the final 12.

Adam is a good singer, but doesn't seem to be the right fit for American Idol.

The theatrics and are a little over the top, as well as the singing, and he is already in the genre that suits him best, which is stage. He just seem to much of performer to be on the radio.

Agree on all points, Darlin', although I also agree with what another poster said about his hair and style being pretentious. He comes off as though he's playing dress up, and I wonder if he is doing it to distinguish himself early on as edgy and then will play it safer the farther he gets along. I started searching him on youtube almost immediately, and I enjoyed his performance as Fiyero in Wicked.

Adam however has actual vocal talent and seems relatively well-adjusted.

I think Adam is way too theatrical. He just seems contrived to the nth degree. He certainly has the vocal range but good singing is not just about that.

Then again, AI fans are not proper Rock fans so they may buy what he's selling. Its Broadway rock, basically.

Those kissy pics have probably killed his chances of winning. He'll lose the conservative votes, the young girly votes & also the homophobic rock fan votes. But at least they're out the way early on. He may have time to redeem himself over the coming weeks/months. Not that I think he needs redeeming. But he certainly needs to win over the doubters.

Yeah but that's the thing babe. This is American Idol, not a grad class in opera singing at Julliard. Most of the contestants aren't even "technically good" singers, so he's still better than most of them.

And if anyone is going to be helped out a lot by being cute (and already has been, because he made the top 12) it's the adorable Kris Allen.

I like Adam but he should tone done the theatrics. It is a singing competition not a theater drama. Nathaniel I don't like. I don't like drama queens and he is definitely that.
My favorite is Danny. I think the media has been rough on him. The death of his wife is part of who he is right now. It is too recent for it not to be.
