    Inspired By Codeerror!

yess yes this is yet ANOTHER workout journal, lol. After reading coderrors and seeing all the support he has recieved i have decided to start my own. I have played baseball my whole life and tried to stay active. I just started eating so much healthier since I got a new place and want to turn over a new leaf. Im trying to break into the porn business so if anyone knows of any good sites or companies looking, comments and suggestions are welcome! here are a few starter pics and i will post as often as i can, usually right after workouts since they will be right here at home! Thanks for whatever interest may come about!

    YAY!
Now this is awesome. Thread needs a new title though. If you're really looking for inspiration, turn to Blackholesun's thread. He's not as lazy as I am.

Starter pics look fine. Nice arms.
What's your plan for the workouts?

    Re: Inspired By Codeerror!

Sorry to hear that. And I know its even harder these days to get loans. But here is the great thing about technology - there are a lot of classes online for free. For example, I have been watching biology lectures from the University of California.

So here is what I would tell my own kids (if I had any). Watch some lectures online as if you were actually enrolled in the class. When you apply for a job explain that it was too expensive to actually go to the school of your choice, but you are taking the classes virtually. An employer will respect your ambition and perserverance.

I would agree that school will serve you better than porn. But that's your choice.

Man you have great arms.. and you are just one state away from me! Good luck with the workouts. Keep us up to date on what you're doing and what effect it's having. Maybe we can learn something. I am always trying to do something different and change things up.

Quick question to all my readers who lift. Anyone know of some good chest excercises that would make me feel it more in the crease of my chest and my pecs instead of closer to the shoulders and the rotator cuff area?

Flys will work the center of the chest more. And they tend to be a little less stress on the shoulder than presses which work in a single plane of motion.

You can also adjust the incline of the bench to help take some of the stress off of the shoulder.

Your best option is to lower your weight for a while, ice your shoulder after your workout and take an anti-inflammatory until the connective tissue in your shoulder is less inflamed. If lowering the weights temporarily doesn't resolve it, you may need to take a break altogether.

Thanks kara. but i dont have an INJURED shoulder, i just always feel the stress from lifting arund the cuff area instead of in the middle of my chest and my pecs, where id like to feel it more

    Re: Inspired By Codeerror!

The only thing I would say is always go with MORE reps and LESS weight. And totally concentrate on your form. I used to think it was all about the weight but it's really not! You can get the results you want with a lot less weight and the risk of injury is a LOT less. You can go to muscle failure just fine.
I see guys doing these huge weights especially in the free weights area and they are losing their form and not doing so many reps even when spotted. It's almost like they think they have to do the higher weights. 130 pound dumbells?? I'm fine with the 60's...
Injury is a bitch and I've been there and it puts you out of action for a long time depending!
Another thing - do a FULL-BODY workout - just doing one muscle is silly and even more so is concentrating on the most visible or "desirable" (biceps, abs, etc) ones.....

"Using light weights and higher reps thinking that it will help you get more "cut" is a mistake: What put the muscle on in the first place is likely to help you keep it there. "

Don't got with many reps, as long as you can do atleast 12 with the weights you are using you should be fine.
Less then 10, decrease the weight.
    More then 20, increase.

I really hope you let your muscles rest for 72 hours.
Divide and conquer, each day pick a group of muscles close to each other and work them.
    Divide into 72/24 = 3 muscle groups.

    Shoulders, Triceps, Biceps etc...

Persian - you post has no source yet you use quotes:
"Using light weights and higher reps thinking that it will help you get more "cut" is a mistake: What put the muscle on in the first place is likely to help you keep it there. "

Please indicate what the source of your quotation is...

Also the 72/24 formula is unknown to me...
But I would DE-emphasize shoulders, biceps and triceps. I did many many years ago but they are only a tiny part of my workout. Oh - there are many many more than 72 muscle group/combinations...just in case u meant that with your 72..the actual percentage of time spent on the three areas you mention is probably less than 5%.

If you were describing it as "I feel my chest work more in my back and arms and not as much as I want in my chest", then I would say to just change the bench around or switch to a different exercise.

But it sounds like you're describing a feeling in the joint in your shoulder. While there are times where you will feel it in your joints with these repetitive, single-plan motions, it shouldn't be painful and it shouldn't happen all of the time.

It's not an injury but it is your body's way of telling you that your joints are stressed.

In this forum, I often talk about core exercises and why they're important. Think of it this way- weightlifting works three things- your coordination, your muscles and your connective tissue. Injuries happen when one of these areas is weaker than the other. So, guys who are really working their muscles but aren't allowing time for their connective tissue (ligaments, tendons) to catch up are at higher risk for injury.

So, while you may not have an injury yet, your body is telling you, "You're working and building your muscles with this exercise, but the ligaments in your shoulder is not strong enough to support this weight yet".

So, why reducing the inflammation, altering the position and lowering the weight, you're giving your ligaments and tendons a chance to strengthen and catch up so that they can support the weights that your muscles are ready to lift.

    Re: Inspired By Codeerror!

Kara - yes that's the other thing trying the many different forms available so the muscles/tendons/ligaments etc don't go thru the same repatative stresses time after time leading to the imbalances you are talking about.
I worked in a sports injury clinic years ago and noticed that the same injuries were coming in (ones related to gym workouts that is) which is some indication of what is going on. Why would shoulder injuries be so prominent for example?

thanks for the suggestions guys, and I have had shoulder injuries before from baseball so i am so so cautious when it comes to them. I do get plenty of rest in between ive made all the mistakes mentioned above and had to learn the hard way years ago when i first lifted a weight.

Hello again all, sorry for the long overdue post, i hope i havent lost the few readers that i had! I was having some trouble with figuring out cams and such so i just installed an old one that i could move around to get some better pics. Ive been working hard since my last post and in the gym 4 times a week. I do abs at home every other day as well as run since its getting fairly nice outside. here a few pics after i just got done doing 300 leg raises, 150 crunches (bad back), russian twists , toe-to-toe ab crunches, and finally the plank to fail. Thanks again for all your comments, it keeps me motivated every day!

p.s. i got some new underwear so i thought id model those as well. Two reasons i buy low rise briefs...one it makes me feel incredibly sexy and horny, and two, it keeps me motivated to one day look great in them

Porn is a great blackmark on a resume that you'll never be able to erase. And if you don't think people will find out, you will learn the hard way because that kind of stuff turns up in employment background checks. I don't speak from my own experience but do have a friend who went the porn route and now he's deeply sorry that he did. The money you earn is not worth it.
