So yeah, after watching the ad, all I could think of is 'what?'
Yes. He is obviously gay and in the closet.
No. He is truly a virgin and religious as he claims.
So yeah, after watching the ad, all I could think of is 'what?'
Was too busy eating nachos and pizza...
Clearly the ad's were pro-life.
I found a Web site that's all about the Tebows and their missionary work, the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association:
A snippet from it about Tim:
Tim Tebow in the youngest of the Tebow children. He was born in Manila, Philippines to missionary parents Bob and Pam Tebow.
Note the referral to Focus' Web site at the end of the TV ad. That TV ad is just to get people to go to Focus' Web site, where there is doubtlessly tons of deceptions, half-truths, distortions, and outright lies. I've seen all this before and come to expect nothing less than that from that organization in the nearly 20 years that they've been in my state.
You can't take anything those people at FOTF say at face value. There's always some agenda, sometimes hidden, sometimes not. Doesn't matter whether James Dobson is running it or not. I've seen waaaaaaaay too much in 20 years -- I wouldn't trust them one bit.
arent the tebow's US citizens and were just working/preaching in the Philippines when tim was born
if so, seems like she could have come back to the states for a legal abortion
i really dont know the timeline
The story (supposedly, if you believe anything those people say) is that her pregnancy was difficult and her doctor advised her to get an abortion. She didn't, and eventually delivered Tim.
Nothing wrong with that, BTW.
But, if it was a difficult pregnancy, traveling that far, to return to the US, probably wasn't an option either. Most women with that kind of pregnancy get put on bed rest. And the Phillippines' laws on abortion are pretty tough:
There is no law in the Philippines that expressly authorizes abortions in order to save the woman's life; and the general provisions which do penalize abortion make no qualifications if the woman's life is endangered.
Sorry, bud. This TV ad is a friendly, cheery little ruse designed to get people to go to their Web site, where they'll lay their political traps. I've seen FOTF do this kind of stuff before. They haven't changed.
I actually don't care if FOTF is anti-abortion; I don't really have a horse in that race. But, they should be honest. That's what I really despise about them: they lie. Like a rug.
hotdog, thanks for your civil and thoughtful comments
this ad, the ad as seen on tv, was much to do about nothing
maybe the pressure before the airing helped in softening it
whatever it was meant to be it wasnt anti-abortion in the end. people of goodwill can disagree on it being pro-choice though
I know this is totally off topic, but he looks really hot in that ad where he pounds tackles his mom
Why did he tackle his Mom ?
I smell issues.
I thought the ad was for Kodak.
You know. . . baby pictures and stuff.
"How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?"
"I don't know. But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking, don't they?"
So apparently he is a virgin
And yet they refused to air my commercial for Focus on the Fanny.
if you are looking for something else to bash about this ad
NOW (National Organization for Women) president Terry O'Neill said it glorified violence against women. "I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it," she said. "That's what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don't find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself."
The ad just the Beethoven Fallacy by another name.
PS. Even as a baby he looked mentally deficient.
War, War never changes...
On the topic of abortion it sometimes appears that the pro-abortion crowd will never be happy unless every woman had at least one abortion. Heck, I even think they be thrilled if guys could get them too.
Nobody is "pro abortion." I think it's wrong.. horrible... a dreadful decision. But I don't think it should be the choice of the state to make it. I'm very pro-life... but that said, I'm also very anti-government intrusion.
We'll meet again...
The ad itself was done, redone, edited and redone again.
In the end, it's sole purpose was to draw attention to the focus on family website, which is decidedly pro-life.
Much of the hype, I'm sure, was created by the focus on family group itself, much like the "man-crunch" business was as well. This is becoming an old trick. It's somewhat akin to celebrities calling the paparazzi ahead of time to let them know what restaurant they are going to be eating at so they can be "assaulted" by the cameras when they come out.
The fame monster chases it's own tail.
On a somewhat unrelated note, I think Mr. Tebow is going to have some struggles with his own sexuality in the future. Assuming that struggle hasn't already begun.
It was edited by CBS to be intentionally ambiguous. In essence the commercial is extremely pro-life...she didn't have an abortion, so now she has an NFL player for a kid:
http://www.gainesville.com/article/2...0317?p=2&tc=pgJust before her pregnancy, Pam fell into a coma after contracting amoebic dysentery, a bacteria transmitted through contaminated drinking water. During her recovery, she received a series of strong medications. And even though she discontinued the regimen when she discovered the pregnancy, doctors told Pam the fetus had been damaged.
Doctors later told Pam that her placenta had detached from the uterine wall, a condition known as placental abruption, which can deprive the fetus of oxygen and nutrients. Doctors expected a stillbirth, Pam said, and they encouraged her to terminate the pregnancy.
"They thought I should have an abortion to save my life from the beginning all the way through the seventh month," she recalled.
Pam said her decision to sustain the pregnancy was a simple one - because of her faith.
My reaction on seeing the commercial was pretty much like most posters "what was all the fuss about". There's nothing offensive in it at all, except that hateful website at the end.
I don't see what all the fuss is about. I think that pro-life campaigns should be allowed to defend themselves and their cause once in a while.
The pro-choice groups present a strong case for abortion almost weekly. It's called Meet the Kardashians.
I'm glad to see that Freedom of the Press is alive and well in the USA.
From some posts I've seen, I have to wonder for how much longer....
As much JUB's fault as mine....
And now a funny video:
It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for: Jesus of Florida strips to his undies! Former Gator QB Tim Tebow participated in the Gatorade Performance Lab at Super Bowl XLIV in Miami, and underwent some body composition analysis–and lots of sweating–in this behind-the-scenes video. Florida Jezus has a mighty fine Tiny Tim in his undies! HOT. If you don’t like it, go sip on some Hater-ade.
Lots of stills and two different videos of the shoot after the jump!
Via Tabloid Prodigy
Hes fuckin hot, I wanna peel those sweaty boxer briefs off
Tiny Tim is right
Here's to rape, rife and revolution! may prostitution progress and Som'bitch become a household word.
i like hunky bottoms
He looks retarded.
Homophobe right winger.
Too bad his mom didn't go through with the abortion.
One few guys that turn me off.
I think he's gorgeous. He seems like a guy that if he go drunk he would fuck a guy. I think he would. There's something about him that just turns me on. True, I don't think "intelligence" when I look at him, but he seems like a pretty simple guy. Anyway, bottom-line is, I wouldn't turn him down if I had the chance to get it on with him.
He's beautiful. He has a nice body. His package in those briefs is awesome. He's doesn't have much of an ass but that's ok.
I am surprised considering how religious he is.
Wow his ass is definitely smaller then I thought it was.
Looks like the dream just became a nightmare.
I agree, WOOF!
to the guy who said- you act like he killed someone- he IS homophobic- by ranting about sick gays, etc- his rhetoric does lead to violence against gay people- possibly death
blow me....he does ads for one of the most homophobic/anti gay groups in the country- it's like doing an ad for the Ayrian Nation- chances are- you support the Klan
aagold76 is right. Some gays actually have standards.
I've got no idea who he is, and he sort of makes my skin itch.
Thanks for the post!!! He's so HOTT!!!!
